* xen/events/fifo: remove a unecessary use of BM()Frediano Ziglio2014-07-311-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | Since 05a812ac474d0d6aef6d54b66bb08b81abde79c6 (xen/events/fifo: correctly align bitops), ready is an unsigned long instead of uint32_t and the BM() macro is no longer required. * xen/events/fifo: ensure all bitops are properly aligned even on x86David Vrabel2014-07-311-3/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When using the FIFO-based ABI on x86_64, if the last port is at the end of an event array page then sync_test_bit() on this port's event word will read beyond the end of the page and in certain circumstances this may fault. The fault requires the following page in the kernel's direct mapping to be not present, which would mean: a) the array page is the last page of RAM; or b) the following page is ballooned out /and/ it has been used for a foreign mapping by a kernel driver (such as netback or blkback) /and/ the grant has been unmapped. Use the infrastructure added for arm64 to ensure that all bitops operating on event words are unsigned long aligned. * xen/events/fifo: reset control block and local HEADs on resumeDavid Vrabel2014-07-311-20/+28
| | | | | | | | | | | | | When using the FIFO-based event channel ABI, if the control block or the local HEADs are not reset after resuming the guest may see stale HEAD values and will fail to traverse the FIFO correctly. This may prevent one or more VCPUs from receiving any events following a resume. * x86/xen: safely map and unmap grant frames when in atomic contextDavid Vrabel2014-07-144-58/+105
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | arch_gnttab_map_frames() and arch_gnttab_unmap_frames() are called in atomic context but were calling alloc_vm_area() which might sleep. Also, if a driver attempts to allocate a grant ref from an interrupt and the table needs expanding, then the CPU may already by in lazy MMU mode and apply_to_page_range() will BUG when it tries to re-enable lazy MMU mode. These two functions are only used in PV guests. Introduce arch_gnttab_init() to allocates the virtual address space in advance. Avoid the use of apply_to_page_range() by using saving and using the array of PTE addresses from the alloc_vm_area() call. N.B. 'alloc_vm_area' pre-allocates the pagetable so there is no need to worry about having to do a PGD/PUD/PMD walk (like apply_to_page_range does) and we can instead do set_pte. * xen: Introduce 'xen_nopv' to disable PV extensions for HVM guests.Konrad Rzeszutek Wilk2014-07-142-0/+17
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | By default when CONFIG_XEN and CONFIG_XEN_PVHVM kernels are run, they will enable the PV extensions (drivers, interrupts, timers, etc) - which is the best option for the majority of use cases. However, in some cases (kexec not fully working, benchmarking) we want to disable Xen PV extensions. As such introduce the 'xen_nopv' parameter that will do it. This parameter is intended only for HVM guests as the Xen PV guests MUST boot with PV extensions. However, even if you use 'xen_nopv' on Xen PV guests it will be ignored. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit 007649375f6af2 ("ext4: initialize multi-block allocator before checking block descriptors") causes the block group descriptor's count of the number of free blocks to become inconsistent with the number of free blocks in the allocation bitmap. This is a harmless form of fs corruption, but it causes the kernel to potentially remount the file system read-only, or to panic, depending on the file systems's error behavior. Thanks to Eric Whitney for his tireless work to reproduce and to find the guilty commit. "aclk66_peric" is causing earlyprintk problems since it gets disabled as part of the boot process, so let's just remove it. Strangely (and for no good reason) this clock is exported as part of the common clock bindings. This is a rather dangerous default, and causes problems on AM43x when using display and ethernet. There are multiple ways to select the clock muxes on AM43x, and some of those clock paths have the same source clocks for display and ethernet. When changing the clock rate for the display subsystem, the clock framework decides to change the display mux from the dedicated display PLL to a shared PLL which is used by the ethernet, and then changes the rate of the shared PLL, breaking the ethernet. As I don't think there ever is a case where we want the clock framework to automatically change the parent clock of a clock mux, this patch sets the CLK_SET_RATE_NO_REPARENT for all ti,mux-clocks. Trying to use it with just one CPU online on any other exynos SoCs will lead to system failure, due to unsupported AFTR mode on other SoCs. This patch fixes the problem by registering the driver only on supported SoCs and letting others simply use default WFI mode until support for them is added. This behaviour is based on the SYSCLK_SYS_PWR_REG registers. E.g. SYSCLK_MFC_SYS_PWR_REG = 0x0, the parent of input clock to MFC (aclk333) gets modified to oscclk = 0x1, no change in clocks. The recommended value of SYSCLK_SYS_PWR_REG before power gating any domain is 0x0. So we must also restore the clocks while powering on a domain everytime. This patch adds the framework for getting the required mux and parent clocks through a power domain device node. With this patch, while powering off a domain, parent is set to oscclk and while powering back on, its re-set to the correct parent which is as per the recommended pd on/off sequence.
