Currenly ram disk is not visiable inside /proc/partitions. This was
done for compatibility reasons here: 53978d0a7a27. But some utilities
expect disk presents in /proc/partitions.
Let's add module's option and let's administrator chose visibility behaviour.
By default, old behaviour preserved.

There is no need to init .owner field.
Based on the patch from Peter Griffin <peter.griffin@linaro.org>
"mmc: remove .owner field for drivers using module_platform_driver"
This patch removes the superflous .owner field for drivers which
use the module_platform_driver API, as this is overriden in
platform_driver_register anyway."

While converting to percpu_ref for freezing, add703fda981 ("blk-mq:
use percpu_ref for mq usage count") incorrectly made
blk_mq_freeze_queue() misbehave when freezing is nested due to
percpu_ref_kill() being invoked on an already killed ref.
Fix it by making blk_mq_freeze_queue() kill and kick the queue only
for the outermost freeze attempt. All the nested ones can simply wait
for the ref to reach zero.
While at it, remove unnecessary @wake initialization from
blk_mq_unfreeze_queue().

When getting a pi error we get to bio_integrity_end_io with
bi_remaining already decremented to 0 where we will eventually
need to call bio_endio with restored original bio completion handler.
Calling bio_endio invokes a BUG_ON(). We should call bio_endio_nodec
instead, like what is done in bio_integrity_verify_fn.

blk-mq uses BLK_MQ_F_SHOULD_MERGE, as set by the driver at init time,
to determine whether it should merge IO or not. However, this could
also be disabled by the admin, if merging is switched off through
sysfs. So check the general queue state as well before attempting
to merge IO.

Before doing queue release, the queue has been freezed already
by blk_cleanup_queue(), so needn't to freeze queue for deleting
tag set.
This patch fixes the WARNING of "percpu_ref_kill() called more than once!"
which is triggered during unloading block driver.

Update of analyze_suspend.py to v3.0
New features include back-2-back suspend testing, device filters to
reduce the html size, the inclusion of device_prepare and device_complete
callbacks, a usb topography list, and the ability to control USB
device autosuspend.
UI upgrades include a device detail window and mini-timeline, the addition
of a suspend_prepare and resume_complete phase to the timeline which includes
the associated device callbacks, automatic highlight of related callbacks,
and general color and name changes for better reability.
The new version relies on two trace point patches that are already in
the kernel:
enable_trace_events_suspend_resume.patch
enable_trace_events_device_pm_callback.patch
It has legacy support for older kernels without these trace events, but
when available the tool processes the ftrace output alone (dmesg has
been deprecated as a tool input, and is only gathered for convenience).

Having no license specification in a module taints the kernel during load
with:
arm_big_little: module license 'unspecified' taints kernel.
and also the linker doesn't allow it to make use of GPL-exported symbols
which in this case also results in errors like:
arm_big_little: Unknown symbol cpufreq_register_driver (err 0)
. The header of the driver specifies a GPL v2 license, so note that
accordingly. While at it also add a description and an author and fix
the license in a companion file to explicit v2.

Several years ago there was an effort to convert all uses of
set_cpus_allowed to use set_cpus_allowed_ptr with the goal of eventually
removing the current definition of set_cpus_allowed and renaming
set_cpus_allowed_ptr as set_cpus_allowed
(https://lkml.org/lkml/2010/3/26/59). This is another step in this
direction.
The Coccinelle semantic patch that makes this change is as follows:

When the machine doesn't well handle the e820 persistent when hibernate

So snapshot.c mark the pfn to forbidden pages map. But, this
page is also in the memory bitmap in snapshot image because it's an
original page used by image kernel, so it will also mark as an
unsafe(free) page in prepare_image().
That means the page in e820 when resuming mark as "forbidden" and
"free", it causes get_buffer() treat it as an allocated unsafe page.
Then snapshot_write_next() return this page to load_image, load_image
writing content to this address, but this page didn't really allocated
. So, we got page fault.
Although the root cause is from BIOS, I think aggressive check and
significant message in kernel will better then a page fault for
issue tracking, especially when serial console unavailable.
This patch adds code in mark_unsafe_pages() for check does free pages in
nosave region. If so, then it print message and return fault to stop whole

capacity_now should be assigned after comparing it to design_capacity.
Otherwise warning is printed even when capacity_now before assignment is
equal to design_capacity, making the check useless and "current charge level"
wrong (it should be higher than, not equal to, "maximum charge level", which
is full_charge_capacity):
"battery: reported current charge level (56410) is higher than reported
maximum charge level (56410)."

When ACPI_HOTPLUG_MEMORY is not configured, memory_device_handler.attach
is not set. In acpi_scan_attach_handler(), the acpi_device->handler will
not be initialized.
In acpi_scan_hot_remove(), it doesn't check if acpi_device->handler is NULL.
If we do memory hot-remove without ACPI_HOTPLUG_MEMORY configured, the kernel
will panic.

CPU hotplug happens during S2RAM and CPU notify event will be CPU_XXX_FROZEN.
acpi_cpu_soft_notify() ignores to check these events. This also may make
acpi_cpu_soft_notify() fall into sleep during CPU_DYING/STARTING_FROZEN
events which don't allow callbacks to sleep. This patch is to fix it.

We should prefer `struct pci_device_id` over `DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE` to
meet kernel coding style guidelines. This issue was reported by checkpatch.
A simplified version of the semantic patch that makes this change is as
follows (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/):
// <smpl>

identifier i;
declarer name DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE;
initializer z;
@@
- DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE(i)

It seems that when a PCI Express bridge is not in use and has no devices
behind it, the ranges property is bogus. Specifically the size property
is of the form [0xffffffff:...], and if you add this size to the resource
start address the 64-bit calculation will overflow.
Just check specifically for this size value signature and skip them.

The driver assumes that endpoint 4 is always an interrupt endpoint.
Unfortunately the type differs between high-speed and full-speed
configurations while in the former case it is indeed an interrupt
endpoint this is not true for the latter case - here it is a bulk
endpoint. When sending URBs with the wrong type the kernel will
generate a warning message including backtrace. In this specific
case there will be a huge amount of warnings which can bring the system
to freeze.
To fix this we are now sending URBs to endpoint 4 using the type
found in the endpoint descriptor.
A side note: The carl9170 firmware currently specifies endpoint 4 as
interrupt endpoint even in the full-speed configuration but this has
no relevance because before this firmware is loaded the endpoint type
is as described above and after the firmware is running the stick is not
reenumerated and so the old descriptor is used.

Fix TCP FRTO logic so that it always notices when snd_una advances,
indicating that any RTO after that point will be a new and distinct
loss episode.
Previously there was a very specific sequence that could cause FRTO to
fail to notice a new loss episode had started:
(1) RTO timer fires, enter FRTO and retransmit packet 1 in write queue
(2) receiver ACKs packet 1
(3) FRTO sends 2 more packets
(4) RTO timer fires again (should start a new loss episode)
The problem was in step (3) above, where tcp_process_loss() returned
early (in the spot marked "Step 2.b"), so that it never got to the
logic to clear icsk_retransmits. Thus icsk_retransmits stayed
non-zero. Thus in step (4) tcp_enter_loss() would see the non-zero
icsk_retransmits, decide that this RTO is not a new episode, and
decide not to cut ssthresh and remember the current cwnd and ssthresh
for undo.
There were two main consequences to the bug that we have
observed. First, ssthresh was not decreased in step (4). Second, when
there was a series of such FRTO (1-4) sequences that happened to be
followed by an FRTO undo, we would restore the cwnd and ssthresh from
before the entire series started (instead of the cwnd and ssthresh
from before the most recent RTO). This could result in cwnd and
ssthresh being restored to values much bigger than the proper values.

tcp_tw_recycle heavily relies on tcp timestamps to build a per-host
ordering of incoming connections and teardowns without the need to
hold state on a specific quadruple for TCP_TIMEWAIT_LEN, but only for
the last measured RTO. To do so, we keep the last seen timestamp in a
per-host indexed data structure and verify if the incoming timestamp
in a connection request is strictly greater than the saved one during
last connection teardown. Thus we can verify later on that no old data
packets will be accepted by the new connection.
During moving a socket to time-wait state we already verify if timestamps
where seen on a connection. Only if that was the case we let the
time-wait socket expire after the RTO, otherwise normal TCP_TIMEWAIT_LEN
will be used. But we don't verify this on incoming SYN packets. If a
connection teardown was less than TCP_PAWS_MSL seconds in the past we
cannot guarantee to not accept data packets from an old connection if
no timestamps are present. We should drop this SYN packet. This patch
closes this loophole.
Please note, this patch does not make tcp_tw_recycle in any way more
usable but only adds another safety check:
Sporadic drops of SYN packets because of reordering in the network or
in the socket backlog queues can happen. Users behing NAT trying to
connect to a tcp_tw_recycle enabled server can get caught in blackholes
and their connection requests may regullary get dropped because hosts
behind an address translator don't have synchronized tcp timestamp clocks.
tcp_tw_recycle cannot work if peers don't have tcp timestamps enabled.
In general, use of tcp_tw_recycle is disadvised.

As of 4fddbf5d78 ("sit: strictly restrict incoming traffic to tunnel link device"),
when looking up a tunnel, tunnel's underlying interface (t->parms.link)
is verified to match incoming traffic's ingress device.
However the comparison was incorrectly based on skb->dev->iflink.
Instead, dev->ifindex should be used, which correctly represents the
interface from which the IP stack hands the ipip6 packets.
This allows setting up sit tunnels bound to vlan interfaces (otherwise
incoming ipip6 traffic on the vlan interface was dropped due to
ipip6_tunnel_lookup match failure).

xgene_enet_get_ring_size() returns a negative value in case of an error,
but its only caller in xgene_enet_create_desc_ring() currently uses the
return value directly as u32. Instead, check for a negative value first and
error out in case. Also move the call to xgene_enet_get_ring_size() before
devm_kzalloc() so we don't need to free anything in the error path.
