* genhd: expose AN to user spaceKristen Carlson Accardi2007-05-241-0/+15
| | | | | | | | | | | | Allow user space to determine if a disk supports Asynchronous Notification of media changes. This is done by adding a new sysfs file "capability_flags", which is documented in (insert file name). This sysfs file will export all disk capabilities flags to user space. We also define a new flag to define the media change notification capability. * [PATCH] block/stat.txtAndy Isaacson2006-01-091-0/+82
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | I couldn't find any docs explaining the contents of /sys/block/<dev>/stat, so I wrote up the following. I'm not completely sure it's accurate - Jens, could you give a yea or nay on this? In particular, the counts of read/write IOs and read/write sectors are incremented in different places - it looks like they both increment as the request is being finished, but I'm not completely sure of that. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
