* dt-bindings: leds: Add pattern initialization from Device TreeKrzysztof Kozlowski2019-01-162-0/+61
| | | | | | | | | | | | Document new led-pattern property for initialization of LED triggers. The property format is trigger-specific (except being array of integers). For pattern trigger, the explanation of pattern format was moved to a common file shared with sysfs ABI. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The patch 'backlight: pwm_bl: compute brightness of LED linearly to human eye' introduced a default brightness-levels table that is used when brightness-levels is not available in the dts. |/ | | | | | | | | | | | | Use integers (reg property) to tell the number of the LED to the driver instead of the node name. While both of these approaches are currently used by the LED bindings, using integers will require less driver changes for ACPI support. |/ | | | | | | | | | | | | During my work on some new LED trigger I tried adding example similar to the existing ones which received following comment from Rob: > It's not really clear in the example this is an LED node as it is > incomplete. Keeping that in mind I suggest adding context for the existing example entries in hope to make documentation more clear. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The LP8556 datasheet describes an EN/VDDIO input, which serves "both as a chip enable and as a power supply reference for PWM, SDA, and SCL inputs." The LP8556 that I'm testing doesn't respond properly if I try to talk I2C to it too quickly after enabling VDDIO, and the LP8555 datasheet mentions a t_RESPONSE delay of up to 1 millisecond. Support this EN/VDDIO by adding a regulator property to the binding; enabling this regulator at probe time; and sleeping for 1 to 2ms, if the EN/VDDIO regulator was provided. * leds: gpio: Support the "panic-indicator" firmware propertyEzequiel Garcia2016-05-061-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Calling a GPIO LEDs is quite likely to work even if the kernel has paniced, so they are ideal to blink in this situation. This commit adds support for the new "panic-indicator" firmware property, allowing to mark a given LED to blink on a kernel panic. * leds: Add SN3218 and SN3216 support to the IS31FL32XX driverDavid Rivshin2016-03-141-3/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Si-En Technology was acquired by ISSI in 2011, and it appears that the IS31FL3218/IS31FL3216 are just rebranded SN3218/SN3216 devices. Add the "si-en,sn3218" and "si-en,sn3216" compatible strings into the IS31FL32XX driver as aliases for the issi equivalents, and update binding documentation.
