* Docs/subsystem-apis: Remove '[The ]Linux' prefixes from titles of listed ↵SeongJae Park2023-01-241-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | documents Some documents that listed on subsystem-apis have 'Linux' or 'The Linux' title prefixes. It's duplicated information, and makes finding the document of interest with human eyes not easy. Remove the prefixes from the titles. * virt: Add TDX guest driverKuppuswamy Sathyanarayanan2022-11-171-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | TDX guest driver exposes IOCTL interfaces to service TDX guest user-specific requests. Currently, it is only used to allow the user to get the TDREPORT to support TDX attestation. Details about the TDX attestation process are documented in Documentation/x86/tdx.rst, and the IOCTL details are documented in Documentation/virt/coco/tdx-guest.rst. Operations like getting TDREPORT involves sending a blob of data as input and getting another blob of data as output. It was considered to use a sysfs interface for this, but it doesn't fit well into the standard sysfs model for configuring values. It would be possible to do read/write on files, but it would need multiple file descriptors, which would be somewhat messy. IOCTLs seem to be the best fitting and simplest model for this use case. The AMD sev-guest driver also uses the IOCTL interface to support attestation. * virt: Add SEV-SNP guest driverBrijesh Singh2022-04-071-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The SEV-SNP specification provides the guest a mechanism to communicate with the PSP without risk from a malicious hypervisor who wishes to read, alter, drop or replay the messages sent. The driver uses snp_issue_guest_request() to issue GHCB SNP_GUEST_REQUEST or SNP_EXT_GUEST_REQUEST NAE events to submit the request to PSP. The PSP requires that all communication should be encrypted using key specified through a struct snp_guest_platform_data descriptor. Userspace can use SNP_GET_REPORT ioctl() to query the guest attestation report. See SEV-SNP spec section Guest Messages for more details. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Due to some merge conflict, this file ended being alone under Documentation/virtual. The file itself is almost at ReST format. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Despite being an old document, it contains lots of information that could still be useful. The document has a nice style with makes easy to convert to ReST. So, let's convert it to ReST. This patch does: - Use proper markups for titles; - Mark and proper indent literal blocks; - don't use an 'o' character for lists; - other minor changes required for the doc to be parsed. * Documentation: move Documentation/virtual to Documentation/virtChristoph Hellwig2019-07-241-0/+18
Renaming docs seems to be en vogue at the moment, so fix on of the grossly misnamed directories. We usually never use "virtual" as a shortcut for virtualization in the kernel, but always virt, as seen in the virt/ top-level directory. Fix up the documentation to match that.
