The hid-nintendo driver supports the Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers and
the Joy-Cons. The Pro Controllers can be used over USB or Bluetooth.
The Joy-Cons each create their own, independent input devices, so it is
up to userspace to combine them if desired.

Paul is no longer handling patches for kvmppc.
Instead we'll treat them as regular powerpc patches, taking them via the
powerpc tree, using the topic/ppc-kvm branch when necessary.
Also drop the web reference, it doesn't have any information
specifically relevant to powerpc KVM.

Move the ABI attributes documentation from:
Documentation/hwmon/sysfs-interface.rst
in order for it to follow the usual ABI documentation. That
allows script/get_abi.pl to properly handle it.

"Here is the big set of char and misc and other tiny driver subsystem
updates for 5.16-rc1.
Loads of things in here, all of which have been in linux-next for a
while with no reported problems (except for one called out below.)
Included are:
- habanana labs driver updates, including dma_buf usage, reviewed and
acked by the dma_buf maintainers
- iio driver update (going through this tree not staging as they
really do not belong going through that tree anymore)
- counter driver updates
- hwmon driver updates that the counter drivers needed, acked by the
hwmon maintainer
- xillybus driver updates
- binder driver updates
- extcon driver updates
- dma_buf module namespaces added (will cause a build error in arm64
for allmodconfig, but that change is on its way through the drm
tree)
- lkdtm driver updates
- pvpanic driver updates
- phy driver updates
- virt acrn and nitr_enclaves driver updates
- smaller char and misc driver updates"

Jonathan writes:
First set of IIO new device and feature support for the 5.16 cycle
Counter subsystem changes now sent separately.
This has been a busy cycle, so lots here and a few more stragglers to
come next week.
Big new feature in this cycle is probably output buffer support.
This has been in the works for a very long time so it's great to see
Mihail pick up the challenge and build upon his predecessors work to finally
bring this feature to mainline.
New device support
------------------
* adi,adxl313
- New driver and dt bindings for this low power accelerometer.
* adi,adxl355
- New driver and dt bindings for this accelerometer.
- Later series adds buffer support.
* asahi-kasei,ak8975
- Minor additions to driver to support ak09916
* aspeed,aspeed-adc
- Substantial rework plus feature additions to add support for the
ast2600 including a new dt bindings doc.
* atmel,at91_sama5d2
- Rework and support introduced for the sama7g5 parts.
* maxim,max31865
- New driver and bindings for this RTD temperature sensor chip.
* nxp,imx8qxp
- New driver and bindings for the ADC found on the i.MX 8QuadXPlus Soc.
* senseair,sunrise
- New driver and bindings for this family of carbon dioxide gas sensors.
* sensiron,scd4x
- New driver and bindings for this carbon dioxide gas sensor.
New features
------------
* Output buffer support. Works in a similar fashion to input buffers, but
in this case userspace pushes data into the kfifo which is then drained
to the device when a trigger occurs. Support added to the ad5766 DAC
driver.
* Core, devm_iio_map_array_register() to avoid need for
devm_add_action_or_reset() based cleanup in fully managed allocation
drivers.
* Core iio_push_to_buffers_with_ts_unaligned() function to safely handle a
few drivers where it really hard to ensure the correct data alignment in
an iio_push_to_buffers_with_timestamp() call. Note this uses a bounce
buffer so should be avoided whenever possible. Used in the ti,adc108s102,
invense,mpu3050 and adi,adis16400. This closes the last known set
of drivers with alignment issues at this interface.
* maxim,max1027
- Substantial rework to this driver main target of which was supporting
use of other triggers than it's own EOC interrupt.
- Transfer optimization.
* nxp,fxls8962af
- Threshold even support including using it as a wakeup source.
Cleanups, minor fixes etc
-------------------------
Chances of a common type to multiple drivers:
* devm_ conversion and drop of .remove() callbacks in:
- adi,ad5064
- adi,ad7291
- adi,ad7303
- adi,ad7746
- adi,ad9832
- adi,adis16080
- dialog,da9150-gpadc
- intel,mrfld_adc
- marvell,berlin2
- maxim,max1363
- maxim,max44000
- nuvoton,nau7802
- st_sensors (includes a lot of rework!)
- ti,ads8344
- ti,lp8788

First set of counter subsystem new feature support for the 5.16 cycle
Most interesting element this time is the new chrdev based interface
for the counter subsystem. Affects all drivers. Some minor precursor
patches.
Major parts:
* Bring all the sysfs attribute setup into the counter core rather than
leaving it to individual drivers. Docs updates accompany these changes.
* Move various definitions to a uapi header as now needed from userspace.
* Add the chardev interface + extensive documentation and example tool
* Add new ABI needed to identify indexes needed for chrdev interface
* Implement new interface for the 104-quad-8
* Follow up deals with wrong path for documentation build

This is a reimplementation of the Generic Counter driver interface.
There are no modifications to the Counter subsystem userspace interface,
so existing userspace applications should continue to run seamlessly.
The purpose of this patch is to internalize the sysfs interface code
among the various counter drivers into a shared module. Counter drivers
pass and take data natively (i.e. u8, u64, etc.) and the shared counter
module handles the translation between the sysfs interface and the
device drivers. This guarantees a standard userspace interface for all
counter drivers, and helps generalize the Generic Counter driver ABI in
order to support the Generic Counter chrdev interface (introduced in a
subsequent patch) without significant changes to the existing counter
drivers.
Note, Counter device registration is the same as before: drivers
populate a struct counter_device with components and callbacks, then
pass the structure to the devm_counter_register function. However,
what's different now is how the Counter subsystem code handles this
registration internally.
Whereas before callbacks would interact directly with sysfs data, this
interaction is now abstracted and instead callbacks interact with native
C data types. The counter_comp structure forms the basis for Counter
extensions.
The counter-sysfs.c file contains the code to parse through the
counter_device structure and register the requested components and
extensions. Attributes are created and populated based on type, with
respective translation functions to handle the mapping between sysfs and
the counter driver callbacks.
The translation performed for each attribute is straightforward: the
attribute type and data is parsed from the counter_attribute structure,
the respective counter driver read/write callback is called, and sysfs
I/O is handled before or after the driver read/write function is called.

"These are all the driver updates for SoC specific drivers. There are a
couple of subsystems with individual maintainers picking up their
patches here:
- The reset controller subsystem add support for a few new SoC
variants to existing drivers, along with other minor improvements
- The OP-TEE subsystem gets a driver for the ARM FF-A transport
- The memory controller subsystem has improvements for Tegra,
Mediatek, Renesas, Freescale and Broadcom specific drivers.
- The tegra cpuidle driver changes get merged through this tree this
time. There are only minor changes, but they depend on other tegra
driver updates here.
- The ep93xx platform finally moves to using the drivers/clk/
subsystem, moving the code out of arch/arm in the process. This
depends on a small sound driver change that is included here as
well.
- There are some minor updates for Qualcomm and Tegra specific
firmware drivers.
The other driver updates are mainly for drivers/soc, which contains a
mixture of vendor specific drivers that don't really fit elsewhere:
- Mediatek drivers gain more support for MT8192, with new support for
hw-mutex and mmsys routing, plus support for reset lines in the
mmsys driver.
- Qualcomm gains a new "sleep stats" driver, and support for the
"Generic Packet Router" in the APR driver.
- There is a new user interface for routing the UARTS on ASpeed BMCs,
something that apparently nobody else has needed so far.
- More drivers can now be built as loadable modules, in particular
for Broadcom and Samsung platforms.
- Lots of improvements to the TI sysc driver for better
suspend/resume support"
Finally, there are lots of minor cleanups and new device IDs for
amlogic, renesas, tegra, qualcomm, mediateka, samsung, imx,
layerscape, allwinner, broadcom, and omap"

Pull ARM SoC DT updates from Arnd Bergmann:
"This is a rather large update for the ARM devicetree files, after a
few quieter releases, with 775 total commits and 47 branches pulled
into this one.
There are 5 new SoC types plus some minor variations, and a total of
60 new machines, so I'm limiting the summary to the main noteworthy
items:
- Apple M1 gain support for PCI and pinctrl, getting a bit closer to
a usable system out of the box.
- Qualcomm gains support for Snapdragon 690 (aka SM6350) as well as
SM7225, 11 new smartphones, and three additional Chromebooks, and
improvements all over the place.
- Samsung gains support for ExynosAutov9, an automotive version of
their smartphone SoC, but otherwise no major changes.
- Microchip adds the SAMA5D29 SoC in the SAMA5 family, and a number
of improvements for the recently added SAMA7 family. The LAN966 SoC
that was added in the platform code does not have dts files yet.
Two board files are added for the older at91sam9g20 SoC
- Aspeed supports two additional server boards using their AST2600 as
BMC, and improves support for qemu models
- Rockchip RK3566/RK3688 gets added, along with six new development
boards using RK3328/RK3399/RK3566, and one Chromebook tablet.
- Two NAS boxes are added using the ARMv4 based Gemini platform
- One new board is added to the Intel Arria SoC FPGA family
- Marvell adds one network switch based on Armada 381 and the new
MOCHAbin 7040 development board
- NXP adds support for the S32G2 automotive SoC, two imx6 based ebook
readers, and three additional development boards, which is notably
less than their usual additions, but they also gain improvements to
their many existing boards
- STmicroelectronics adds their stm32mp13 SoC family along with a
reference board
- Renesas adds new versions of their R-Car Gen3 SoCs and many updates
for their older generations
- Broadcom adds support for a number of Cisco Meraki wireless
controllers, along with two new boards and other updates for
BCM53xx/BCM47xx networking SoCs and the Raspberry Pi boards
- Mediatek improves support for the MT81xx SoCs used in Chromebooks
as well as the MT76xx networking SoCs
- NVIDIA adds a number of cleanups and additional support for more
hardware on the already supported machines
- TI K3 adds support for three new boards along with cleanups
- Toshiba adds one board for the Visconti family
- Xilinx adds five new ZynqMP based machines
- Amlogic support is added for the Radxa Zero and two Jethub home
automation controllers, along with changes to other machines
- Rob Herring continues his work on fixing dtc warnings all over the
tree.
- Minor updates for TI OMAP, Mstar, Allwinner/sunxi, Hisilicon,
Ux500, Unisoc"

This merges few entries for the SPEAr platform as separate entries
aren't really required.
Moreover it adds soc@kernel.org as 'M' entry, to let them be cc'd for
patches, since they only pickup the patches for SPEAr directly due to
very low traffic for the same.

This commit adds support for the rockchip i2s-tdm controller,
which enables audio output on the following rockchip SoCs:
- px30
- rk1808
- rk3308
- rk3566
- rk3568
- rv1126
This is a cleaned up version of the downstream vendor kernel's
driver. It can be enabled through the SND_SOC_ROCKCHIP_I2S_TDM
configuration option.

wm_adsp originally provided firmware loading on some audio DSP and was
implemented as an ASoC codec driver. However, the firmware loading now
covers a wider range of DSP cores and peripherals containing them,
beyond just audio. So it needs to be available to non-audio drivers. All
the core firmware loading support has been moved into a new driver
cs_dsp, leaving only the ASoC-specific parts in wm_adsp.
