* ARC: [plat-hsdk] Remap CCMs super early in asm boot trampolineVineet Gupta2020-11-021-17/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | ARC HSDK platform stopped booting on released v5.10-rc1, getting stuck in startup of non master SMP cores. This was bisected to upstream commit 7fef431be9c9ac25 "(mm/page_alloc: place pages to tail in __free_pages_core())" That commit itself is harmless, it just exposed a subtle assumption in our platform code (hence CC'ing linux-mm just as FYI in case some other arches / platforms trip on it). The upstream commit is semantically disruptive as it reverses the order of page allocations (actually it can be good test for hardware verification to exercise different memory patterns altogether). For ARC HSDK platform that meant a remapped memory region (pertaining to unused Closely Coupled Memory) started getting used early for dynamice allocations, while not effectively remapped on all the cores, triggering memory error exception on those cores. The fix is to move the CCM remapping from early platform code to to early core boot code. And while it is undesirable to riddle common boot code with platform quirks, there is no other way to do this since the faltering code involves setting up stack itself so even function calls are not allowed at that point. If anyone is interested, all the gory details can be found at Link below. * treewide: Convert macro and uses of __section(foo) to __section("foo")Joe Perches2020-10-251-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Use a more generic form for __section that requires quotes to avoid complications with clang and gcc differences. Remove the quote operator # from compiler_attributes.h __section macro. Convert all unquoted __section(foo) uses to quoted __section("foo"). Also convert __attribute__((section("foo"))) uses to __section("foo") even if the __attribute__ has multiple list entry forms. * arc: plat-hsdk: fix kconfig dependency warning when !RESET_CONTROLLERNecip Fazil Yildiran2020-10-061-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When ARC_SOC_HSDK is enabled and RESET_CONTROLLER is disabled, it results in the following Kbuild warning: WARNING: unmet direct dependencies detected for RESET_HSDK Depends on [n]: RESET_CONTROLLER [=n] && HAS_IOMEM [=y] && (ARC_SOC_HSDK [=y] || COMPILE_TEST [=n]) Selected by [y]: - ARC_SOC_HSDK [=y] && ISA_ARCV2 [=y] The reason is that ARC_SOC_HSDK selects RESET_HSDK without depending on or selecting RESET_CONTROLLER while RESET_HSDK is subordinate to RESET_CONTROLLER. * ARC: [plat-hsdk]: allow to switch between AXI DMAC port configurationsEugeniy Paltsev2019-08-051-12/+75
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We want to use DW AXI DMAC on HSDK board in our automated verification to test cache & dma kernel code changes. This is perfect candidate as we don't depend on any external peripherals like MMC card / USB storage / etc. To increase test coverage we want to test both options: * DW AXI DMAC is connected through IOC port & dma direct ops used * DW AXI DMAC is connected to DDR port & dma noncoherent ops used Introduce 'arc_hsdk_axi_dmac_coherent' global variable which can be modified by debugger (same way as we patch 'ioc_enable') to switch between these options without recompiling the kernel. Depend on this value we tweak memory bridge configuration and "dma-coherent" DTS property of DW AXI DMAC. | * ARC: [plat-hsdk]: unify memory apertures configurationEugeniy Paltsev2019-06-111-8/+153
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | HSDK SoC has memory bridge which allows to configure memory map for different AXI masters in runtime. As of today we adjust memory apertures configuration in U-boot so we have different configuration in case of loading kernel via U-boot and JTAG. It isn't really critical in case of existing platform configuration as configuration differs for <currently> unused address space regions or unused AXI masters. However we may face with this issue when we'll bringup new peripherals or touch their address space. Fix that by perform full configuration of memory bridge in HSDK platform code. Basically we simply copy memory bridge configuration code from U-boot. * ARC: [plat-hsdk]: Configure APB GPIO controller on ARC HSDK platformGustavo Pimentel2018-07-091-0/+62
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In case of HSDK we have intermediate INTC in for of DW APB GPIO controller which is used as a de-bounce logic for interrupt wires that come from outside the board. We cannot use existing "irq-dw-apb-ictl" driver here because all input lines are routed to corresponding output lines but not muxed into one line (this is configured in RTL and we cannot change this in software). But even if we add such a feature to "irq-dw-apb-ictl" driver that won't benefit us as higher-level INTC (in case of HSDK it is IDU) anyways has per-input control so adding fully-controller intermediate INTC will only bring some overhead on interrupt processing but no other benefits. Thus we just do one-time configuration of DW APB GPIO controller and forget about it. Based on implementation available on arch/arc/plat-axs10x/axs10x.c file. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | With current SDIO CIU clock frequency (12500000Hz) DW MMC controller fails to initialize some SD cards (which don't support slow mode). So increase SDIO CIU frequency from 12500000Hz to 50000000Hz by switching from the default divisor value (div-by-8) to the minimum possible value of the divisor (div-by-2) in HSDK platform code. * ARC: [plat-hsdk] initial port for HSDK boardAlexey Brodkin2017-09-013-0/+84
This initial port adds support of ARC HS Development Kit board with some basic features such serial port, USB, SD/MMC and Ethernet. Essentially we run Linux kernel on all 4 cores (i.e. utilize SMP) and heavily use IO Coherency for speeding-up DMA-aware peripherals. Note as opposed to other ARC boards we link Linux kernel to 0x9000_0000 intentionally because cores 1 and 3 configured with DCCM situated at our more usual link base 0x8000_0000. We still can use memory region starting at 0x8000_0000 as we reallocate DCCM in our platform code. Note that PAE remapping for DMA clients does not work due to an RTL bug, so CREG_PAE register must be programmed to all zeroes, otherwise it will cause problems with DMA to/from peripherals even if PAE40 is not used.
