Other platforms are already converted, so we just need to update the actual device tree source files and the binding documents to add support for new board and new drivers. In the future we will probably separate those into two branches, and in the long run, the plan is to move the device tree source files out of the kernel repository, but that has to wait until we have completed a much larger portion of the binding documents." Fix up trivial conflicts in arch/arm/mach-imx/clk-imx6q.c due to newly added clkdev registers next to a few removed unnecessary ones. * tag 'dt' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (119 commits) ARM: LPC32xx: Add PWM to base dts file ARM: EXYNOS: mark the DMA channel binding for SPI as preliminary ARM: dts: Add nodes for spi controllers for SAMSUNG EXYNOS5 platforms ARM: EXYNOS: Enable platform support for SPI controllers for EXYNOS5 ARM: EXYNOS: Add spi clock support for EXYNOS5 ARM: dts: Add nodes for spi controllers for SAMSUNG EXYNOS4 platforms ARM: EXYNOS: Enable platform support for SPI controllers for EXYNOX4 ARM: EXYNOS: Fix the incorrect hierarchy of spi controller bus clock ARM: ux500: Remove PMU platform registration when booting with DT ARM: ux500: Remove temporary snowball_of_platform_devs enablement structure ARM: ux500: Ensure vendor specific properties have the vendor's identifier pinctrl: pinctrl-nomadik: Append sleepmode property with vendor specific prefixes ARM: ux500: Move rtc-pl031 registration to Device Tree when enabled ARM: ux500: Enable the AB8500 RTC for all DT:ed DB8500 based devices ARM: ux500: Correctly reference IRQs supplied by the AB8500 from Device Tree ARM: ux500: Apply ab8500-debug node do the db8500 DT structure ARM: ux500: Add a ab8500-usb Device Tree node for db8500 based devices ARM: ux500: Add db8500 Device Tree node for misc/ab8500-pwm ARM: ux500: Add db8500 Device Tree node for ab8500-sysctrl ARM: ux500: Enable LED heartbeat functionality on Snowbal via DT ...
| * ARM: ux500: Ensure vendor specific properties have the vendor's identifierLee Jones2012-07-131-9/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Any non-standard property should contain the vendor's identifier which should be perpended onto the property name followed by a comma. This aids in name-space collision prevention. Acked-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org>
| * ARM: ux500: Move rtc-pl031 registration to Device Tree when enabledLee Jones2012-07-131-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | During a Device Tree boot, all probing will now be completed on parse of the Device Tree binary. In the same patch we remove platform registration of the Real Time Clock. Acked-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org>
| * ARM: ux500: Enable the AB8500 RTC for all DT:ed DB8500 based devicesLee Jones2012-07-131-0/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Here we add a node for the AB8500 Real Time Clock in all devices supporting the DB8500. The AB8500 RTC driver makes use of named interrupts we provide support for this too. Acked-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org>
| * ARM: ux500: Correctly reference IRQs supplied by the AB8500 from Device TreeLee Jones2012-07-131-11/+13
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The AB8500 driver has now been provided with IRQ domain support. This means we can request IRQs from any of it's uses via Device Tree. This patch advertises the AB8500 as an Interrupt Controller and provides the correct calls in the format the driver expects. | * ARM: ux500: Apply ab8500-debug node do the db8500 DT structureLee Jones2012-07-131-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This node has no properties. It merely allows probing of the ab8500-debugfs driver during Device Tree initialisation. Acked-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org>
| * ARM: ux500: Add a ab8500-usb Device Tree node for db8500 based devicesLee Jones2012-07-131-0/+21
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Here we specify each of the ab8500 USB driver's seven IRQs, which the driver references by name. We also apply regulator support for the three used by the device. Acked-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org>
| * ARM: ux500: Add db8500 Device Tree node for misc/ab8500-pwmLee Jones2012-07-131-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds the DT node for the misc/ab8500-pwm driver. It will allow probing of the driver during a Device Tree enabled boot. Acked-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org>
| * ARM: ux500: Add db8500 Device Tree node for ab8500-sysctrlLee Jones2012-07-131-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds the DT node for the mfd/ab8500-sysctrl driver. It will allow probing of the driver during a Device Tree enabled boot. Acked-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org>
| * ARM: ux500: Add support for input/ponkey into the db8500's Device TreeLee Jones2012-07-131-0/+7

| * ARM: ux500: Add a ab8500-gpadc node to the db8500 Device TreeLee Jones2012-07-131-0/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch provides support for the ab8500-gpadc driver. Acked-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org>
* | ARM: dts: db8500: add property "regulator-compatible" regulator nodeLaxman Dewangan2012-07-031-0/+30
|/ | | | | | | | | | | Device's regulator matches their hardware counterparts with the property "regulator-compatible" of each child regulator node in place of the child node name. Add the property "regulator-compatible" for each regulator with their hardware counterpart's name. * ARM: ux500: Enable probing of pinctrl through Device TreeLee Jones2012-06-011-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | | The Nomadik GPIO controller now relies on Nomadik pinctrl, however the pinctrl driver is not currently started by any ux500 platform. This is requred or GPIOs do not work at all. Acked-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
* ARM: ux500: Add support for ab8500 regulators into the Device TreeLee Jones2012-06-011-0/+68
| | | | | | | | | Here we supply the information required to setup regulators successfully on Snowball and other db8500 variants which use the ab8500 regulators. Acked-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
* ARM: ux500: Apply db8500-prcmu regulator information to db8500 Device TreeLee Jones2012-06-011-0/+107
| | | | | | | | | | Here we inform Device Tree of which regulators are provided by the db8500- prcmu. This way we can reference some of their consumers directly from the Device Tree e.g. SMSC911x Ethernet chip. Acked-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
* ARM: ux500: Use correct format for dynamic IRQ assignmentLee Jones2012-06-011-1/+20
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch applies the correct format requested by the irq domain. For chained IRQs which use GPIO lines as IRQs, we stipulate that a two cell request is required. The first cell contains the requested IRQ and the second can contain flags pertaining to edge detection and level sensitive values. The zeroth cell specifies the GPIO controller by use of a phandle. * ARM: ux500: PRCMU related configuration and layout corrections for Device TreeLee Jones2012-06-011-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | Apply db8500 related PRCMU Device Tree settings and clean up some formatting errors. We also remove one of the PRCMU assigned IRQs, as it is currently not used. Acked-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
* ARM: ux500: Configure the PRCMU Timer for db8500 based devices in DTLee Jones2012-04-251-1/+7
| | | | | | | | | This patch adds the information required for successful registration of the PRCMU timer 4 (clocksource) driver to the db8500 Device Tree include file. Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: ux500: Enable the SMSC9115 on Snowball via Device TreeLee Jones2012-04-251-0/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Here we split the description of the external-bus@50000000 over two description files. In the more generic db8500 description file we only specify the external-bus. Normally this would be used to communicate with a NOR-flash device. On the Snowball however, the SMSC9115 Ethernet chip occupies it. In the Snowball board specific description file is where we actually specify that it is in fact the Ethernet device which lives here. * drivers/gpio: gpio-nomadik: Device Tree bindingsLee Jones2012-04-231-0/+18
| | | | | | | | | This creates Device Tree bindings for the Nomadik GPIO driver. Acked-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org> [Split off from the patch actually implementing the bindings] Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: ux500: Shorten Snowball's DT compatible gpio entryLee Jones2012-04-231-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | It is believed that the gpio compatible match entry is too long and cumbersome in its current form. This patch takes steps to decrease its length by using ST-Microelectronics' abbreviation ST. Acked-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: ux500: Rename the DT compatible entry for i2c devices on SnowballLee Jones2012-04-231-9/+9

* ARM: dts: remove blank interrupt-parent propertiesRob Herring2012-04-151-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | These were incorrectly introduced and can cause problems for of_irq_init. The correct way to define a root controller is no interrupt-parent set at all or the interrupt-parent is set to the root controller itself when inherited from a parent node. * ARM: ux500: Provide local timer support for Device TreeLee Jones2012-03-161-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | This enables local timer (AKA: private timer) support for all u8500 based hardware using DT. Acked-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
* ARM: ux500: Enable PL022 SSP Controller in Device TreeLee Jones2012-03-161-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | This SSP Controller supports a number of serial communication methods and as such cannot be registered using of_register_spi_devices. Instead we register it simply as a primecell device. * ARM: ux500: Enable PL310 Level 2 Cache Controller in Device TreeLee Jones2012-03-161-0/+8
| | | | | | | | | This provides PL310 Level 2 Cache Controller Device Tree support for all u8500 based devices. Acked-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
* ARM: ux500: Enable Cortex-A9 GIC (Generic Interrupt Controller) in Device TreeLee Jones2012-03-161-0/+11
| | | | | | | | | This enables the embedded GIC on all u8500 based hardware using DT. Acked-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org> Reviewed-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
* ARM: ux500: db8500: list most devices in the snowball device treeLee Jones2012-03-161-1/+227
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds all devices that are normally present through the u8500_init_machine function in the device tree as well, which will duplicate the devices that are visible. This will not do much by itself because the device from the device tree are not matched by any device driver until they are converted as well. The next step is to move over one device at a time to actually be used from the device tree instead of the hardcoded device using auxdata to pass the correct platform_data.
