* ARM: dts: Move .dts files to vendor sub-directoriesRob Herring2023-06-211-718/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The arm dts directory has grown to 1559 boards which makes it a bit unwieldy to maintain and use. Past attempts stalled out due to plans to move .dts files out of the kernel tree. Doing that is no longer planned (any time soon at least), so let's go ahead and group .dts files by vendors. This move aligns arm with arm64 .dts file structure. There's no change to dtbs_install as the flat structure is maintained on install. The naming of vendor directories is roughly in this order of preference: - Matching original and current SoC vendor prefix/name (e.g. ti, qcom) - Current vendor prefix/name if still actively sold (SoCs which have been aquired) (e.g. nxp/imx) - Existing platform name for older platforms not sold/maintained by any company (e.g. gemini, nspire) The whole move was scripted with the exception of MAINTAINERS and a few makefile fixups. * ARM: dts: exynos: replace mshc0 alias with mmc-ddr-1_8v propertyHenrik Grimler2023-04-031-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Previously, the mshc0 alias has been necessary so that MMC_CAP_1_8V_DDR | MMC_CAP_8_BIT_DATA are set for mshc_0/mmc_0. However, these capabilities should be described in the device tree so that we do not have to rely on the alias. The property mmc-ddr-1_8v replaces MMC_CAP_1_8V_DDR, while bus_width = <8>, which is already set for all the mshc0/mmc0 nodes, replaces MMC_CAP_8_BIT_DATA. Also drop other mshc aliases as they are not needed. The entire work consists of three parts but everything should be merged at once to avoid dtschema check errors: 1. Samsung pinctrl driver change necessary to accept new DTS (driver depends on node names and this has to be adjusted because of dtschema). 2. Conversion to dtschema which brings requirement of different naming of the GPIO nodes. 3. DTS commits depending on driver (1) above, which convert all GPIO pin bank names to new naming, required by dtschema. This also includes few cleanups around DTS which are here to avoid any merge conflicts. The Samsung pinctrl driver changes are backwards compatible. However the DTS changes (renaming nodes) could cause problems in out-of-tree or other project implementations of the driver. * tag 'samsung-dt-pinctrl-5.18' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/krzk/linux: (28 commits) arm64: dts: exynos: use dedicated wake-up pinctrl compatible in ExynosAutov9 ARM: dts: s5pv210: align pinctrl with dtschema ARM: dts: s3c64xx: align pinctrl with dtschema ARM: dts: s3c24xx: align pinctrl with dtschema arm64: dts: exynos: align pinctrl with dtschema in ExynosAutov9 arm64: dts: exynos: align pinctrl with dtschema in Exynos7 arm64: dts: exynos: align pinctrl with dtschema in Exynos5433 ARM: dts: exynos: align pinctrl with dtschema in Exynos542x/5800 ARM: dts: exynos: align pinctrl with dtschema in Exynos5410 ARM: dts: exynos: align pinctrl with dtschema in Exynos5260 ARM: dts: exynos: align pinctrl with dtschema in Exynos5250 ARM: dts: exynos: align pinctrl with dtschema in Exynos4412 ARM: dts: exynos: align pinctrl with dtschema in Exynos4210 ARM: dts: exynos: align pinctrl with dtschema in Exynos3250 ARM: dts: s3c64xx: drop unneeded pinctrl wake-up interrupt mapping ARM: dts: exynos: simplify PMIC DVS pin configuration in Peach Pi ARM: dts: exynos: override pins by label in Peach Pi ARM: dts: exynos: simplify PMIC DVS pin configuration in Peach Pit ARM: dts: exynos: override pins by label in Peach Pit ARM: dts: exynos: simplify PMIC DVS pin configuration in Odroid XU ... * ARM: dts: exynos: correct PMIC interrupt trigger level on SnowKrzysztof Kozlowski2021-03-071-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | The Maxim PMIC datasheets describe the interrupt line as active low with a requirement of acknowledge from the CPU. Without specifying the interrupt type in Devicetree, kernel might apply some fixed configuration, not necessarily working for this hardware. Additionally, the interrupt line is shared so using level sensitive interrupt is here especially important to avoid races. It has been enough time to convert all boards to use new bindings, but sadly due to copy/paste design the old approach using separate node with 'samsung,exynos4210-hdmiddc' compatible was used also for many new boards. * | ARM: dts: exynos: Use 'hpd-gpios' instead of 'hpd-gpio'Milo Kim2016-08-241-1/+1
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch enables getting a HPD GPIO descriptor quicker. The exynos-hdmi driver uses "hpd" for HDMI hot plug detection. static int hdmi_resources_init(struct hdmi_context *hdata) { ... hdata->hpd_gpio = devm_gpiod_get(dev, "hpd", GPIOD_IN); ... } This calls 'of_find_gpio()' and it generates the GPIO consumer ID by referring GPIO suffix. So 'hpd-gpios' is preferred on getting a GPIO descriptor. However, if the device tree uses 'hpd-gpio', then the exynos-hdmi driver always retries to get a GPIO descriptor because the first GPIO suffix is not 'gpio' but 'gpios'. So you always see the debug message below. of_get_named_gpiod_flags: can't parse 'hpd-gpios' property of node '/soc/hdmi@14530000[0]' Use the preferred property, 'hpd-gpios' instead of 'hpd-gpio'. |/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit 5c9cbade0629 ("ARM: dts: exynos: Fix DTC unit name warnings in Exynos5250") fixed all the DTC warnings about mismatchs between unit names and reg properties in Exynos5250 boards DTS. But unfortunately it also added a regression on the Exynos5250 Snow Chromebook when changing the port node names since the OF graph logic expects the port nodes to be always named 'port'. The Documentation/devicetree/bindings/graph.txt binding document says that when there is more than one port, '#address-cells', '#size-cells' and 'reg' properties should be used to number the port nodes. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The Exynos5250 Snow Chromebooks have a Marvell WiFi SDIO chip which can't neither be removed nor be detected. But the node isn't marked as non-removable and instead has the broken-cd DT property. This causes the device to be removed when the system enters into a suspend state and the following warnings is shown after a resume: [ 181.944636] mmc2: error -2 during resume (card was removed?) * ARM: dts: Add Exynos5250 Snow Rev5+ support on exynos5250-snow-rev5Javier Martinez Canillas2015-09-301-0/+684
There are 2 revisions of the Exynos5250 Snow Chromebook that were shipped: Rev4 and Rev5. The only difference between these 2 revisions is the codec, Rev4 has a max98095 codec while Rev5 has a max98090. Mainline only supports Rev4 so this patch moves the common device nodes to a DTSI file and adds a DTS for the Exynos5250 Snow Rev5. The Snow Rev5 DTS is based on the DTS found in the ChromiumOS 3.8 tree.
