Remove the CONFIG_PREEMPT_RT symbol from the ifdef around
do_softirq_own_stack() and move it to Kconfig instead.
Enable softirq stacks based on SOFTIRQ_ON_OWN_STACK which depends on
HAVE_SOFTIRQ_ON_OWN_STACK and its default value is set to !PREEMPT_RT.
This ensures that softirq stacks are not used on PREEMPT_RT and avoids
a 'select' statement on an option which has a 'depends' statement.

PREEMPT_RT preempts softirqs and the current implementation avoids
do_softirq_own_stack() and only uses __do_softirq().
Disable the unused softirqs stacks on PREEMPT_RT to save some memory and
ensure that do_softirq_own_stack() is not used bwcause it is not expected.

The last user of arch_irq_handler_default is gone now, so the
entry-macro-multi.S file and all references to mach/entry-macro.S can
be removed, as well as the asm_do_IRQ() entrypoint into the interrupt
handling routines implemented in C.
Note: The ARMv7-M entry still uses its own top-level IRQ entry, calling
nvic_handle_irq() from assembly. This could be changed to go through
generic_handle_arch_irq() as well, but it's unclear to me if there are
any benefits.

Wire up the generic support for managing task stack allocations via vmalloc,
and implement the entry code that detects whether we faulted because of a
stack overrun (or future stack overrun caused by pushing the pt_regs array)
While this adds a fair amount of tricky entry asm code, it should be
noted that it only adds a TST + branch to the svc_entry path. The code
implementing the non-trivial handling of the overflow stack is emitted
out-of-line into the .text section.
Since on ARM, we rely on do_translation_fault() to keep PMD level page
table entries that cover the vmalloc region up to date, we need to
ensure that we don't hit such a stale PMD entry when accessing the
stack. So we do a dummy read from the new stack while still running from
the old one on the context switch path, and bump the vmalloc_seq counter
when PMD level entries in the vmalloc range are modified, so that the MM
switch fetches the latest version of the entries.
Note that we need to increase the per-mode stack by 1 word, to gain some
space to stash a GPR until we know it is safe to touch the stack.
However, due to the cacheline alignment of the struct, this does not
actually increase the memory footprint of the struct stack array at all.

Now that we have enabled IRQ stacks, any softIRQs that are handled over
the back of a hard IRQ will run from the IRQ stack as well. However, any
synchronous softirq processing that happens when re-enabling softIRQs
from task context will still execute on that task's stack.
Since any call to local_bh_enable() at any level in the task's call
stack may trigger a softIRQ processing run, which could potentially
cause a task stack overflow if the combined stack footprints exceed the
stack's size, let's run these synchronous invocations of do_softirq() on
the IRQ stack as well.

Now that we no longer rely on the stack pointer to access the current
task struct or thread info, we can implement support for IRQ stacks
cleanly as well.
Define a per-CPU IRQ stack and switch to this stack when taking an IRQ,
provided that we were not already using that stack in the interrupted
context. This is never the case for IRQs taken from user space, but ones
taken while running in the kernel could fire while one taken from user
space has not completed yet.

In preparation for removing HANDLE_DOMAIN_IRQ_IRQENTRY, have arch/arm
perform all the irqentry accounting in its entry code.
For configurations with CONFIG_GENERIC_IRQ_MULTI_HANDLER, we can use
generic_handle_arch_irq(). Other than asm_do_IRQ(), all C calls to
handle_IRQ() are from irqchip handlers which will be called from
generic_handle_arch_irq(), so to avoid double accounting IRQ entry, the
entry logic is moved from handle_IRQ() into asm_do_IRQ().
For ARMv7M the entry assembly is tightly coupled with the NVIC irqchip, and
while the entry code should logically live under arch/arm/, moving the
entry logic there makes things more convoluted. So for now, place the
entry logic in the NVIC irqchip, but separated into a separate
function to make the split of responsibility clear.
For all other configurations without CONFIG_GENERIC_IRQ_MULTI_HANDLER,
IRQ entry is already handled in arch code, and requires no changes.
There should be no functional change as a result of this patch.

Despite the name, handle_domain_irq() deals with non-irqdomain
handling for the sake of a handful of legacy ARM platforms.
Move such handling into ARM's handle_IRQ(), allowing for better
code generation for everyone else. This allows us get rid of
some complexity, and to rearrange the guards on the various helpers
in a more logical way.

Arm TC2 fails cpu hotplug stress test.
This issue was tracked down to a missing copy of the new affinity
cpumask for the vexpress-spc interrupt into struct
irq_common_data.affinity when the interrupt is migrated in
migrate_one_irq().
Fix it by replacing the arm specific hotplug cpu migration with the
generic irq code.
This is the counterpart implementation to commit 217d453d473c ("arm64:
fix a migrating irq bug when hotplug cpu").
Tested with cpu hotplug stress test on Arm TC2 (multi_v7_defconfig plus
CONFIG_ARM_BIG_LITTLE_CPUFREQ=y and CONFIG_ARM_VEXPRESS_SPC_CPUFREQ=y).
The vexpress-spc interrupt (irq=22) on this board is affine to CPU0.
Its affinity cpumask now changes correctly e.g. from 0 to 1-4 when
CPU0 is hotplugged out.

Converts the ARM interrupt code to use the recently added
GENERIC_IRQ_MULTI_HANDLER, which is essentially just a copy of ARM's
existhing MULTI_IRQ_HANDLER. The only changes are:
* handle_arch_irq is now defined in a generic C file instead of an
arm-specific assembly file.
* handle_arch_irq is now marked as __ro_after_init.

arm: irq: l2c: do not print error in case of missing l2c from dtb
In some architectures the L2 cache controller is integrated in the
processor's block itself and it doesn't use any external cache
controller. This means that an entry in the board's dtb related
to the l2c is not necessary.
Distinguish between error codes and do not print anything in case
l2x0_of_init() doesn't find any L2C DTB entry and returns -ENODEV.
This patch mutes the following error message:
L2C: failed to init: -19
on boards like odroid-xu4, cortex A7/A15, which don't have
external cache controller.

The existing memory barrier macro causes a significant amount of code
to be inserted inline at every call site. For example, in
gpio_set_irq_type(), we have this for mb():
c0344c08: f57ff04e dsb st
c0344c0c: e59f8190 ldr r8, [pc, #400] ; c0344da4 <gpio_set_irq_type+0x230>
c0344c10: e3590004 cmp r9, #4
c0344c14: e5983014 ldr r3, [r8, #20]
c0344c18: 0a000054 beq c0344d70 <gpio_set_irq_type+0x1fc>
c0344c1c: e3530000 cmp r3, #0
c0344c20: 0a000004 beq c0344c38 <gpio_set_irq_type+0xc4>
c0344c24: e50b2030 str r2, [fp, #-48] ; 0xffffffd0
c0344c28: e50bc034 str ip, [fp, #-52] ; 0xffffffcc
c0344c2c: e12fff33 blx r3
c0344c30: e51bc034 ldr ip, [fp, #-52] ; 0xffffffcc
c0344c34: e51b2030 ldr r2, [fp, #-48] ; 0xffffffd0
c0344c38: e5963004 ldr r3, [r6, #4]
Moving the outer_cache_sync() call out of line reduces the impact of
the barrier:
c0344968: f57ff04e dsb st
c034496c: e35a0004 cmp sl, #4
c0344970: e50b2030 str r2, [fp, #-48] ; 0xffffffd0
c0344974: 0a000044 beq c0344a8c <gpio_set_irq_type+0x1b8>
c0344978: ebf363dd bl c001d8f4 <arm_heavy_mb>
c034497c: e5953004 ldr r3, [r5, #4]
This should reduce the cache footprint of this code. Overall, this
results in a reduction of around 20K in the kernel size:
text data bss dec hex filename
10773970 667392 10369656 21811018 14ccf4a ../build/imx6/vmlinux-old
10754219 667392 10369656 21791267 14c8223 ../build/imx6/vmlinux-new
Another advantage to this approach is that we can finally resolve the
issue of SoCs which have their own memory barrier requirements within
multiplatform kernels (such as OMAP.) Here, the bus interconnects
need additional handling to ensure that writes become visible in the
correct order (eg, between dma_map() operations, writes to DMA
coherent memory, and MMIO accesses.)

Certain platforms (i.e. Exynos) might need to set .write_sec callback
from firmware initialization which is happenning in .init_early callback
of machine descriptor. However current code will overwrite the pointer
with whatever is present in machine descriptor, even though it can be
already set earlier. This patch fixes this by making the assignment
conditional, depending on whether current .write_sec callback is NULL.

Since commit 1dbfa187dad ("ARM: irq migration: force migration off CPU
going down") the ARM interrupt migration code on cpu offline calls
irqchip.irq_set_affinity() with the argument force=true. At the point
of this change the argument had no effect because it was not used by
any interrupt chip driver and there was no semantics defined.
This changed with commit 01f8fa4f01d8 ("genirq: Allow forcing cpu
affinity of interrupts") which made the force argument useful to route
interrupts to not yet online cpus without checking the target cpu
against the cpu online mask. The following commit ffde1de64012
("irqchip: gic: Support forced affinity setting") implemented this for
the GIC interrupt controller.
As a consequence the ARM cpu offline irq migration fails if CPU0 is
offlined, because CPU0 is still set in the affinity mask and the
validataion against cpu online mask is skipped to the force argument
being true. The following first_cpu(mask) selection always selects
CPU0 as the target.
Solve the issue by calling irq_set_affinity() with force=false from
the CPU offline irq migration code so the GIC driver validates the
affinity mask against CPU online mask and therefore removes CPU0 from
the possible target candidates.
Tested on TC2 hotpluging CPU0 in and out. Without this patch the system
locks up as the IRQs are not migrated away from CPU0.

The recently added Emma Mobile GPIO driver calls set_irq_flags
and irq_set_chip_and_handler for the interrupts it exports and
it can be built as a module, which currently fails with
ERROR: "set_irq_flags" [drivers/gpio/gpio-em.ko] undefined!
We either need to replace the call to set_irq_flags with something
else or export that function. This patch does the latter.

When a CPU is hotplugged off, we migrate any IRQs currently affine to it
away and onto another online CPU by calling the irq_set_affinity
function of the relevant interrupt controller chip. This function
returns either IRQ_SET_MASK_OK or IRQ_SET_MASK_OK_NOCOPY, to indicate
whether irq_data.affinity was updated.
If we are forcefully migrating an interrupt (because the affinity mask
no longer identifies any online CPUs) then we should update the IRQ
affinity mask to reflect the new CPU set. Failure to do so can
potentially leave /proc/irq/n/smp_affinity identifying only offline
CPUs, which may confuse userspace IRQ balancing daemons.
This patch updates migrate_one_irq to copy the affinity mask when
the interrupt chip returns IRQ_SET_MASK_OK after forcefully changing the
affinity of an interrupt.

any of these. Since module.h brings in the whole kitchen
sink, it just needlessly adds 30k+ lines to the cpp burden.
There are probably lots more, but ARM files of mach-* and plat-*

to be cleaned up and tested via using their respective configs.

PPI handling is a bit of an odd beast. It uses its own low level
handling code and is hardwired to the local timers (hence lacking
a registration interface).
Instead, switch the low handling to the normal SPI handling code.
PPIs are handled by the handle_percpu_devid_irq flow.
This also allows the removal of some duplicated code.

When __irq_svc - or any of the other exception handling assembly code -
calls the C code, the stack pointer will be pointing at the pt_regs
structure.
All the entry points into C code from the exception handling code are
marked with __exception or __exception_irq_enter to indicate that they
are one of the functions which has pt_regs above them.
Normally, when you've entered asm_do_IRQ() you will have this stack
layout (higher address towards top):
pt_regs
asm_do_IRQ frame
If you insert a C function between the exception assembly code and
asm_do_IRQ, you end up with this stack layout instead:
pt_regs
your function frame
asm_do_IRQ frame
This means when we unwind, we'll get to asm_do_IRQ, and rather than
dumping out the pt_regs, we'll dump out your functions stack frame
instead, because that's what is above the asm_do_IRQ stack frame
rather than the expected pt_regs structure.
The fix is to introduce handle_IRQ() for no exception stack dump, so
it can be called with MULTI_IRQ_HANDLER is selected and a C function
is between the assembly code and the actual IRQ handling code.

Our selection of interrupts to consider for IRQ migration is sub-
standard. We were potentially including per-CPU interrupts in our
migration strategy, but omitting chained interrupts. This caused
some interrupts to remain on a downed CPU.
We were also trying to migrate interrupts which were not migratable,
resulting in an OOPS.
Instead, iterate over all interrupts, skipping per-CPU interrupts
or interrupts whose affinity does not include the downed CPU, and
attempt to set the affinity for every one else if their chip
implements irq_set_affinity().
