* ARM: 7171/1: unwind: add unwind directives to bitops assembly macrosWill Deacon2011-11-261-3/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The bitops functions (e.g. _test_and_set_bit) on ARM do not have unwind annotations and therefore the kernel cannot backtrace out of them on a fatal error (for example, NULL pointer dereference). This patch annotates the bitops assembly macros with UNWIND annotations so that we can produce a meaningful backtrace on error. Callers of the macros are modified to pass their function name as a macro parameter, enforcing that the macros are used as standalone function implementations. * ARM: bitops: switch set/clear/change bitops to use ldrex/strexRussell King2011-02-021-6/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Switch the set/clear/change bitops to use the word-based exclusive operations, which are only present in a wider range of ARM architectures than the byte-based exclusive operations. * [ARM] 5227/1: Add the ENDPROC declarations to the .S filesCatalin Marinas2008-09-011-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | This declaration specifies the "function" type and size for various assembly functions, mainly needed for generating the correct branch instructions in Thumb-2. Signed-off-by: Catalin Marinas <catalin.marinas@arm.com> Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
* [PATCH] ARM: bitopsRussell King2005-04-171-13/+2
| | | | | | | | Convert ARM bitop assembly to a macro. All bitops follow the same format, so it's silly duplicating the code when only one or two instructions are different. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk@arm.linux.org.uk>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
