* ARM: 8025/1: Get rid of meminfoLaura Abbott2014-06-011-5/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | memblock is now fully integrated into the kernel and is the prefered method for tracking memory. Rather than reinvent the wheel with meminfo, migrate to using memblock directly instead of meminfo as an intermediate. * | ARM: delete struct sys_timerStephen Warren2012-12-241-1/+1
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself. This will enable moving timer drivers into drivers/clocksource without having to place a public prototype of each struct sys_timer object into include/linux; the intent is to create a single of_clocksource_init() function that determines which timer driver to initialize by scanning the device dtree, much like the proposed irqchip_init() at: http://www.spinics.net/lists/arm-kernel/msg203686.html Includes mach-omap2 fixes from Igor Grinberg. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The PXA-SPI driver relies on some files / defines which are arm specific and are within the ARM tree. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | For some platforms, it is inappropriate to register all PXA UARTs. |/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch completely rewrites the rfkill core to address the following deficiencies: * all rfkill drivers need to implement polling where necessary rather than having one central implementation * updating the rfkill state cannot be done from arbitrary contexts, forcing drivers to use schedule_work and requiring lots of code * rfkill drivers need to keep track of soft/hard blocked internally -- the core should do this * the rfkill API has many unexpected quirks, for example being asymmetric wrt. alloc/free and register/unregister * rfkill can call back into a driver from within a function the driver called -- this is prone to deadlocks and generally should be avoided * rfkill-input pointlessly is a separate module * drivers need to #ifdef rfkill functions (unless they want to depend on or select RFKILL) -- rfkill should provide inlines that do nothing if it isn't compiled in * the rfkill structure is not opaque -- drivers need to initialise it correctly (lots of sanity checking code required) -- instead force drivers to pass the right variables to rfkill_alloc() * the documentation is hard to read because it always assumes the reader is completely clueless and contains way TOO MANY CAPS * the rfkill code needlessly uses a lot of locks and atomic operations in locked sections * fix LED trigger to actually change the LED when the radio state changes -- this wasn't done before Tested-by: Alan Jenkins <alan-jenkins@tuffmail.co.uk> Signed-off-by: Henrique de Moraes Holschuh <hmh@hmh.eng.br> [thinkpad] Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes@sipsolutions.net> Signed-off-by: John W. | | * [ARM] pxa: make second argument of clk_add_alias a name instead of the deviceDmitry Eremin-Solenikov2009-03-191-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | clk_add_alias is commonly called for platform devices that are not yet registered in the device tree. Thus the clock alias is associated with NULL device name. Fix this by passing the device name instead of just device pointer. * | | [ARM] pass reboot command line to arch_reset()Russell King2009-03-191-2/+2
|/ / | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | OMAP wishes to pass state to the boot loader upon reboot in order to instruct it whether to wait for USB-based reflashing or not. There is already a facility to do this via the reboot() syscall, except we ignore the string passed to machine_restart(). This patch fixes things to pass this string to arch_reset(). This means that we keep the reboot mode limited to telling the kernel _how_ to perform the reboot which should be independent of what we request the boot loader to do. * / [ARM] pxa: introduce pxa{25x,27x,300,320,930}.h for board usageEric Miao2009-03-091-2/+2
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Considering the header mess ATM, it is not always possible to include the correct header files within board code. Let's keep this simple: <mach/pxa25x.h> - for pxa25x based platforms <mach/pxa27x.h> - for pxa27x based platforms <mach/pxa300.h> - for pxa300 based platforms <mach/pxa320.h> - for pxa320 based platforms <mach/pxa930.h> - for pxa930 based platforms NOTE: 1. one header one board file, they are not compatible (i.e. they have conflicting definitions which won't compile if included together). 2. Unless strictly necessary, the following header files are considered to be SoC files use _only_, and is not recommended to be included in board code: <mach/hardware.h> <mach/pxa-regs.h> <mach/pxa2xx-regs.h> <mach/pxa3xx-regs.h> <mach/mfp.h> <mach/mfp-pxa2xx.h> <mach/mfp-pxa25x.h> <mach/mfp-pxa27x.h> <mach/mfp-pxa3xx.h> <mach/mfp-pxa300.h> <mach/mfp-pxa320.h> <mach/mfp-pxa930.h> Signed-off-by: Eric Miao <eric.miao@marvell.com>

* mfd: do tcb6393xb state restore on resume only if requestedDmitry Baryshkov2008-10-191-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | As requested by Ian make state restore only if it's requested by platform data: some platforms do correctly save the state of the chip during suspend/resume, but some (like tosa) incorrectly power off the chip at suspend, so the driver supports restoring some bits of the tc6393xb state (not full, merely enough to support resume on tosa). With this patch this code is disabled by default. Signed-off-by: Dmitry Baryshkov <dbaryshkov@gmail.com> Acked-by: Ian Molton <spyro@f2s.com> Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@openedhand.com>

* [ARM] 5300/1: fixup spitz reset during bootDmitry Baryshkov2008-10-111-1/+1
