Most of the header files are no longer referenced from outside
arch/arm/mach-omap1, so move them all to that place directly
and change their users to use the new location.
The exceptions are:
- mach/compress.h is used by the core architecture code
- mach/serial.h is used by mach/compress.h
The mach/memory.h is empty and gets removed in the process,
avoiding the need for CONFIG_NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H.

The sram initialization code is the only shared omap1/2 code that
is not a standalone driver, but it is very short. Having two copies
of this code means some duplication of the sources, but actually
saves object code size as it can be inlined better.

Pull ARM SoC platform updates from Arnd Bergmann:
"This release brings up a new platform based on the old ARM9 core: the
Nuvoton NPCM is used as a baseboard management controller, competing
with the better known ASpeed AST2xx series.
Another important change is the addition of ARMv7-A based chips in
mach-stm32. The older parts in this platform are ARMv7-M based
microcontrollers, now they are expanding to general-purpose workloads.
The other changes are the usual defconfig updates to enable additional
drivers, lesser bugfixes. The largest updates as often are the ongoing
OMAP cleanups, but we also have a number of changes for the older PXA
and davinci platforms this time.
For the Renesas shmobile/r-car platform, some new infrastructure is
needed to make the watchdog work correctly.
Supporting Multiprocessing on Allwinner A80 required a significant
amount of new code, but is not doing anything unexpected"

The current contents of plat/i2c.h are only relevant for OMAP1
platforms, as all the equivalent functions for OMAP2 has been
dropped in commit 65fa3e719f36 ("ARM: OMAP2+: Remove legacy i2c.c
platform init code"), and which has also moved the left-over code
from plat-omap into mach-omap1. The hwmod is a concept only
applicable for OMAP2 platforms, and the omap_i2c_reset() is
already declared in mach-omap2/i2c.h. So, move the current
plat/i2c.h header file into the mach-omap1 folder, and adjust
the header usage accordingly.

The omap_timer_capability_dev_attr data was used to supply instance
specific capabilities (like always-on, PWM functionality or ability
to interrupt DSP cores) for legacy non-DT devices. These capabilities
are now provided through device-tree properties. The legacy device
support has been cleaned up in commit 8d39ff3d1696 ("ARM: OMAP2+:
Remove unused legacy code for timer") and this data is therefore
no longer needed. So, cleanup the structure and all the associated
data in various hwmod data files.
While at this, remove the stale header in hwmod data files that
already do not have any timer capability data.

We are still using custom SRAM code for some SoCs and are not marking
the PM code mapped to SRAM as read-only and executable after we're
done. With CONFIG_DEBUG_WX=y, we will get "Found insecure W+X mapping
at address" warning.
Let's fix this issue the same way as commit 728bbe75c82f ("misc: sram:
Introduce support code for protect-exec sram type") is doing for
drivers/misc/sram-exec.c.
On omap3, we need to restore SRAM when returning from off mode after
idle, so init time configuration is not enough.
And as we no longer have users for omap_sram_push_address() we can
make it static while at it.
Note that eventually we should be using sram-exec.c for all SoCs.

Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which
makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license.
By default all files without license information are under the default
license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2.
Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0'
SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding
shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text.
This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and
Philippe Ombredanne.
How this work was done:
Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of
the use cases:
- file had no licensing information it it.
- file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it,
- file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,
Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases
where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license
had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.
The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to
a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the
output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX
tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared the
base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files.
The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files
assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner
results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s)
to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not
immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was:
- Files considered eligible had to be source code files.
- Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5
lines of source
- File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5
lines).
All documentation files were explicitly excluded.
The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license
identifiers to apply.
- when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was
considered to have no license information in it, and the top level
COPYING file license applied.
For non */uapi/* files that summary was:
SPDX license identifier # files
---------------------------------------------------|-------
GPL-2.0 11139
and resulted in the first patch in this series.
If that file was a */uapi/* path one, it was "GPL-2.0 WITH
Linux-syscall-note" otherwise it was "GPL-2.0". Results of that was:
SPDX license identifier # files
---------------------------------------------------|-------
GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 930
and resulted in the second patch in this series.
- if a file had some form of licensing information in it, and was one
of the */uapi/* ones, it was denoted with the Linux-syscall-note if
any GPL family license was found in the file or had no licensing in
it (per prior point). Results summary:
SPDX license identifier # files
---------------------------------------------------|------
GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 270
GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 169
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-2-Clause) 21
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 17
LGPL-2.1+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 15
GPL-1.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 14
((GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 5
LGPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 4
LGPL-2.1 WITH Linux-syscall-note 3
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR MIT) 3
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) AND MIT) 1
and that resulted in the third patch in this series.
- when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became
the concluded license(s).
- when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a
license but the other didn't, or they both detected different
licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred.
- In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file
resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and
which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics).
- When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was
confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
- If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier,
the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later
in time.
In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the
spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the
source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation
by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from
FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners
disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights. The
Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so
they are related.
Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets
for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the
files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks
in about 15000 files.
In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have
copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the
correct identifier.
Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual
inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch
version early this week with:
- a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected
license ids and scores
- reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+
files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct
- reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license
was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied
SPDX license was correct
This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. This
worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the
different types of files to be modified.
These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script to
parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the
format that the file expected. This script was further refined by Greg
based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to
distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different
comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to
generate the patches.

All OMAP IP blocks expect LE data, but CPU may operate in BE mode.
Need to use endian neutral functions to read/write h/w registers.
I.e instead of __raw_read[lw] and __raw_write[lw] functions code
need to use read[lw]_relaxed and write[lw]_relaxed functions.
If the first simply reads/writes register, the second will byteswap
it if host operates in BE mode.
Changes are trivial sed like replacement of __raw_xxx functions
with xxx_relaxed variant.

next/cleanup
This cleanup series gets rid of <mach/timex.h> for platforms not using
ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM. (For multi-platform code it's already unused since
387798b (ARM: initial multiplatform support).)
To make this work some code out of arch/arm needed to be adapted. The
respective changes got acks by their maintainers to be taken via armsoc
(with Andrew Morton substituting for Alessandro Zummo as rtc maintainer).
Compared to the previous pull request there was another patch added that
fixes a (non-critical) regression on ixp4xx. Olof Johansson asked to not
squash this fix into the original commit to save him from the need to
reverify the series.

While <mach/timex.h> isn't used for multi-platform builds since long it
still is for "normal" builds. As the previous patches fix all sites to
not make use of this per-platform file, it can go now for good also for

Enabling of Posted mode is seen to cause problems on dmtimer modules on AM33xx
(much like other OMAPs). Reference discussions on forums [1] [2]. Earlier
patch solving this on other OMAPs [3].
For OMAP SoCs with this errata, the fix has been to not enable Posted mode.
However, on some SoCs (atleast AM33xx) which carry this errata, Posted mode
is enabled on reset. So we not only need to ignore enabling of the POSTED bit
when the timer is requested, but also disable Posted mode if errata is present.

The mailbox hardware (in OMAP) uses a queued mailbox interrupt
mechanism that provides a communication channel between processors
through a set of registers and their associated interrupt signals
by sending and receiving messages.
The OMAP mailbox framework/driver code is moved to be under
drivers/mailbox, in preparation for adapting to a common mailbox
driver framework. This allows the build for OMAP mailbox to be
enabled (it was disabled during the multi-platform support).
As part of the migration from plat and mach code:
- Kconfig symbols have been renamed to build OMAP1 or OMAP2+ drivers.
- mailbox.h under plat-omap/plat/include has been split into a public
and private header files. The public header has only the API related
functions and types.
- The module name mailbox.ko from plat-omap is changed to
omap-mailbox.ko
- The module name mailbox_mach.ko from mach-omapX is changed as
mailbox_omap1.ko for OMAP1
mailbox_omap2.ko for OMAP2+

The OMAP mailbox platform driver code has been cleaned up to
remove the dependencies with soc.h in preparation for moving
the mailbox code to drivers folder.
The code relied on cpu_is_xxx/soc_is_xxx macros previously to
pick the the right set of mailbox devices and register with the
mailbox driver. This data is now represented in a concise format
and moved to the respective omap_hwmod data files and published
to the driver through the platform data.

Add a function so that OMAP dmtimers can be requested by device-tree
node. This allows for devices, such as the internal DSP, or drivers,
such as PWM, to reference a specific dmtimer node via the device-tree.
Given that there are several APIs available for requesting dmtimers
(by ID, by capability or by node) consolidate the code for all these
functions into a single helper function that can be used by these
request functions.

The timekeeping doesn't depend on HZ value in presence of fine grained
clocksource and hence there should not be any time drift because of HZ
value which was chosen to be divisor of 32768.
OMAP has been using HZ = 128 value to avoid any time drift issues
because of 32768 HZ clock. But with various measurements performed
with HZ = 100, no time drift is observed and it also proves the
point about HZ not having impact on time keeping on OMAP.
Very informative thread on this topic is here:

We only want this initcall to run when the kernel is
booted on omap SoCs. Fix the issue by initializing the
the initcall from separately for omap1 and omap2+.
This fixes the issue for omap2+ multiplatform configs
as we are using omap_subsys_initcall there.

Pull late ARM cleanups for omap from Olof Johansson:
"From Tony Lindgren:
Here are few more patches to finish the omap changes for multiplatform
conversion that are not strictly fixes, but were too complex to do
with the dependencies during the merge window. Those are to move of
serial-omap.h to platform_data, and the removal of remaining
cpu_is_omap macro usage outside mach-omap2.
Then there are several trivial fixes for typos and few minimal
omap2plus_defconfig updates."

The cpu_is_omap macros are now local to arch/arm/mach-omap2
in soc.h and plat/cpu.h can finally be dropped for omap2+.
Thanks everybody for help with fixing the drivers.
Note that we can now also remove the unused plat/cpu.h from
smartreflex.c and isp.c as they will cause compile errors
with ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM enabled.

The OMAP2420 H4 board was the only board using the
plat-omap/debug-devices.c code for configuring ethernet support. Now
that OMAP2420 H4 has been migrated to use the generic gpmc code for
configuring ethernet support, the debug-devices.c file is no longer
used and so remove it and its header file.

"This branch contains a largeish set of updates of power management and

It includes a split-up of some of the OMAP clock data into separate

other patches are just trivial compile fixes.

Based on earlier discussions[1] we attempted to find a suitable
location for the omap DMA header in commit 2b6c4e73 (ARM: OMAP:
DMA: Move plat/dma.h to plat-omap/dma-omap.h) until the conversion
to dmaengine is complete.
Unfortunately that was before I was able to try to test compile
of the ARM multiplatform builds for omap2+, and the end result
was not very good.
So I'm creating yet another all over the place patch to cut the
last dependency for building omap2+ for ARM multiplatform. After
this, we have finally removed the driver dependencies to the
arch/arm code, except for few drivers that are being worked on.
The other option was to make the <plat-omap/dma-omap.h> path
to work, but we'd have to add some new header directory to for
multiplatform builds.
Or we would have to manually include arch/arm/plat-omap/include
again from arch/arm/Makefile for omap2+.
Neither of these alternatives sound appealing as they will
likely lead addition of various other headers exposed to the
drivers, which we want to avoid for the multiplatform kernels.
Since we already have a minimal include/linux/omap-dma.h,
let's just use that instead and add a note to it to not
use the custom omap DMA functions any longer where possible.
Note that converting omap DMA to dmaengine depends on
dmaengine supporting automatically incrementing the FIFO
address at the device end, and converting all the remaining
legacy drivers. So it's going to be few more merge windows.

omap-for-v3.8/cleanup-headers-prepare-multiplatform-v3
omap prcm changes via Paul Walmsley <paul@pwsan.com>:
Some miscellaneous OMAP hwmod changes for 3.8, along with a PRM

However, omap-for-v3.8/clock at 558a0780 does not include some fixes
that are needed for a successful test. With several reverts,
fixes, and workarounds applied, the following test logs were
obtained:
http://www.pwsan.com/omap/testlogs/TEST_hwmod_devel_a_3.8/20121121162719/
which indicate that the series tests cleanly.

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap into next/cleanup
From Tony Lindgren:
Move most of remaining omap iommu code to drivers/iommu.
This is needed for the multiplatform kernels as the plat
and mach headers cannot be included.
These changes were agreed to be merged via the arm-soc
tree by Joerg and Ohad as these will cause some merge
conflicts with the other related clean-up branches.
So omap-for-v3.8/cleanup-headers-iommu should be added
as one of the depends branches for arm-soc.

Timer clean-up to get us closer to moving timer code to drivers,
and to get rid of CONFIG_OMAP_32K_TIMER and rely on the board
or devicetree provided timer configuration.
Note that these changes are on top of the recent timer fixes.

The OMAP2+ system timer code stores the physical address of the timer
but never uses it. Remove this and clean-up the code by removing the
local variable "size" and changing the names of the local variables
mem_rsrc and irq_rsrc to mem and irq, respectively.

Only OMAP1 devices use the omap_dm_timer_reset() and so require the
omap_dm_timer_wait_for_reset() and __omap_dm_timer_reset() functions.
Therefore combine these into a single function called omap_dm_timer_reset()
and simplify the code.
The omap_dm_timer_reset() function is now the only place that is using the
omap_dm_timer structure member "sys_stat". Therefore, remove this member and
just use the register offset definition to simplify and clean-up the code. The
TISTAT register is only present on revision 1 timers and so check for this in
the omap_dm_timer_reset() function.
Please note that for OMAP1 devices, the TIOCP_CFG register does not have the
clock-activity field and so when we reset the timer for an OMAP1 device we
only need to configure the idle-mode field in the TIOCP_CFG register.

The __omap_dm_timer_set_source() function is only used by the system timer
(clock-events and clock-source) code for OMAP2+ devices. Therefore, we can
remove this code from the dmtimer driver and move it to the system timer
code for OMAP2+ devices.
The current __omap_dm_timer_set_source() function calls clk_disable() before
calling clk_set_parent() and clk_enable() afterwards. We can avoid these calls
to clk_disable/enable by moving the calls to omap_hwmod_setup_one() and
omap_hwmod_enable() to after the call to clk_set_parent() in
omap_dm_timer_init_one().
The function omap_hwmod_setup_one() will enable the timers functional clock
and therefore increment the use-count of the functional clock to 1.
clk_set_parent() will fail if the use-count is not 0 when called. Hence, if
omap_hwmod_setup_one() is called before clk_set_parent(), we will need to call
clk_disable() before calling clk_set_parent() to decrement the use-count.
Hence, avoid these extra calls to disable and enable the functional clock by
moving the calls to omap_hwmod_setup_one() and omap_hwmod_enable() to after
clk_set_parent().
We can also remove the delay from the __omap_dm_timer_set_source() function
because enabling the clock will now be handled via the HWMOD framework by
calling omap_hwmod_setup_one(). Therefore, by moving the calls to
omap_hwmod_setup_one() and omap_hwmod_enable() to after the call to
clk_set_parent(), we can simply replace __omap_dm_timer_set_source() with
clk_set_parent().
It should be safe to move these hwmod calls to later in the
omap_dm_timer_init_one() because other calls to the hwmod layer that occur
before are just requesting resource information.
Testing includes boot testing on OMAP2420 H4, OMAP3430 SDP and OMAP4430 Blaze
with the following configurations:
1. CONFIG_OMAP_32K_TIMER=y
2. CONFIG_OMAP_32K_TIMER=y and boot parameter "clocksource=gp_timer"
3. CONFIG_OMAP_32K_TIMER not set
4. CONFIG_OMAP_32K_TIMER not set and boot parameter "clocksource=gp_timer"

The OMAP dmtimer driver does not currently have a function to disable the
timer interrupts. For some timer instances the timer interrupt enable
function can be used to disable the interrupts because the same interrupt
enable register is used to disable interrupts. However, some timer instances
have separate interrupt enable/disable registers and so this will not work.
Therefore, add a dedicated function to disable interrupts.
This change is required for OMAP4+ devices. For OMAP4, all timers apart from 1,
2 and 10 need this function and for OMAP5 all timers need this function.
Please note that the interrupt disable function has been written so that it
can be used by all OMAP devices.

Restoring the timer interrupt status is not possible because writing a 1 to any
bit in the register clears that bit if set and writing a 0 has no affect.
Furthermore, if an interrupt is pending when someone attempts to disable a
timer, the timer will fail to transition to the idle state and hence it's
context will not be lost. Users should take care to service all interrupts
before disabling the timer.

The timer TISTAT register is a read-only register and therefore restoring the
context is not needed. Furthermore, the context of TISTAT is never saved
anywhere in the current code. The TISTAT register is read-only for all OMAP
devices from OMAP1 to OMAP4. OMAP5 timers no longer have this register.

Errata Titles:
i103: Delay needed to read some GP timer, WD timer and sync timer
registers after wakeup (OMAP3/4)
i767: Delay needed to read some GP timer registers after wakeup (OMAP5)
Description (i103/i767):
If a General Purpose Timer (GPTimer) is in posted mode
(TSICR [2].POSTED=1), due to internal resynchronizations, values read in
TCRR, TCAR1 and TCAR2 registers right after the timer interface clock
(L4) goes from stopped to active may not return the expected values. The
most common event leading to this situation occurs upon wake up from
idle.
GPTimer non-posted synchronization mode is not impacted by this
limitation.
Workarounds:
1). Disable posted mode
2). Use static dependency between timer clock domain and MPUSS clock
domain
3). Use no-idle mode when the timer is active
Workarounds #2 and #3 are not pratical from a power standpoint and so
workaround #1 has been implemented. Disabling posted mode adds some CPU
overhead for configuring and reading the timers as the CPU has to wait
for accesses to be re-synchronised within the timer. However, disabling
posted mode guarantees correct operation.
Please note that it is safe to use posted mode for timers if the counter
(TCRR) and capture (TCARx) registers will never be read. An example of
this is the clock-event system timer. This is used by the kernel to
schedule events however, the timers counter is never read and capture
registers are not used. Given that the kernel configures this timer
often yet never reads the counter register it is safe to enable posted
mode in this case. Hence, for the timer used for kernel clock-events,
posted mode is enabled by overriding the errata for devices that are
impacted by this defect.
For drivers using the timers that do not read the counter or capture
registers and wish to use posted mode, can override the errata and
enable posted mode by making the following function calls.
__omap_dm_timer_override_errata(timer, OMAP_TIMER_ERRATA_I103_I767);
__omap_dm_timer_enable_posted(timer);
Both dmtimers and watchdogs are impacted by this defect this patch only
implements the workaround for the dmtimer. Currently the watchdog driver
does not read the counter register and so no workaround is necessary.
Posted mode will be disabled for all OMAP2+ devices (including AM33xx)
using a GP timer as a clock-source timer to guarantee correct operation.
This is not necessary for OMAP24xx devices but the default clock-source
timer for OMAP24xx devices is the 32k-sync timer and not the GP timer
and so should not have any impact. This should be re-visited for future
devices if this errata is fixed.
Confirmed with Vaibhav Hiremath that this bug also impacts AM33xx
devices.
