Although there're tons of arch-specific page fault handlers, most of them
are still sharing the same initial value of the page fault flags. Say,
merely all of the page fault handlers would allow the fault to be retried,
and they also allow the fault to respond to SIGKILL.
Let's define a default value for the fault flags to replace those initial
page fault flags that were copied over. With this, it'll be far easier to
introduce new fault flag that can be used by all the architectures instead
of touching all the archs.

For most architectures, we've got a quick path to detect fatal signal
after a handle_mm_fault(). Introduce a helper for that quick path.
It cleans the current codes a bit so we don't need to duplicate the same
check across archs. More importantly, this will be an unified place that
we handle the signal immediately right after an interrupted page fault, so
it'll be much easier for us if we want to change the behavior of handling
signals later on for all the archs.
Note that currently only part of the archs are using this new helper,
because some archs have their own way to handle signals. In the follow up
patches, we'll try to apply this helper to all the rest of archs.
Another note is that the "regs" parameter in the new helper is not used
yet. It'll be used very soon. Now we kept it in this patch only to avoid
touching all the archs again in the follow up patches.

Change a header to mandatory-y if both of the following are met:
[1] At least one architecture (except um) specifies it as generic-y in
arch/*/include/asm/Kbuild
[2] Every architecture (except um) either has its own implementation
(arch/*/include/asm/*.h) or specifies it as generic-y in
arch/*/include/asm/Kbuild
This commit was generated by the following shell script.
----------------------------------->8-----------------------------------
arches=$(cd arch; ls -1 | sed -e '/Kconfig/d' -e '/um/d')
tmpfile=$(mktemp)
grep "^mandatory-y +=" include/asm-generic/Kbuild > $tmpfile
find arch -path 'arch/*/include/asm/Kbuild' |
xargs sed -n 's/^generic-y += \(.*\)/\1/p' | sort -u |
while read header
do
mandatory=yes
for arch in $arches
do
if ! grep -q "generic-y += $header" arch/$arch/include/asm/Kbuild &&
! [ -f arch/$arch/include/asm/$header ]; then
mandatory=no
break
fi
done
if [ "$mandatory" = yes ]; then
echo "mandatory-y += $header" >> $tmpfile
for arch in $arches
do
sed -i "/generic-y += $header/d" arch/$arch/include/asm/Kbuild
done
fi
done
sed -i '/^mandatory-y +=/d' include/asm-generic/Kbuild
LANG=C sort $tmpfile >> include/asm-generic/Kbuild
----------------------------------->8-----------------------------------
One obvious benefit is the diff stat:
25 files changed, 52 insertions(+), 557 deletions(-)
It is tedious to list generic-y for each arch that needs it.
So, mandatory-y works like a fallback default (by just wrapping
asm-generic one) when arch does not have a specific header
implementation.

It is tedious to convert headers one by one, so I processed by a shell
script.

Until now a PHY-fixup in mach-imx set our rgmii timing correctly. For
the PHY KSZ9131 there is no PHY-fixup in mach-imx. To support this PHY
too, use rgmii-id.
For the now used KSZ9031 nothing will change, as rgmii-id is only
implemented and supported by the KSZ9131.

Pull timekeeping and timer updates from Thomas Gleixner:
"Core:
- Consolidation of the vDSO build infrastructure to address the
difficulties of cross-builds for ARM64 compat vDSO libraries by
restricting the exposure of header content to the vDSO build.
This is achieved by splitting out header content into separate
headers. which contain only the minimaly required information which
is necessary to build the vDSO. These new headers are included from
the kernel headers and the vDSO specific files.
- Enhancements to the generic vDSO library allowing more fine grained
control over the compiled in code, further reducing architecture
specific storage and preparing for adopting the generic library by
PPC.
- Cleanup and consolidation of the exit related code in posix CPU
timers.
- Small cleanups and enhancements here and there
Drivers:
- The obligatory new drivers: Ingenic JZ47xx and X1000 TCU support
- Correct the clock rate of PIT64b global clock
- setup_irq() cleanup
- Preparation for PWM and suspend support for the TI DM timer
- Expand the fttmr010 driver to support ast2600 systems
- The usual small fixes, enhancements and cleanups all over the
place"

The vDSO library should only include the necessary headers required for
a userspace library (UAPI and a minimal set of kernel headers). To make
this possible it is necessary to isolate from the kernel headers the
common parts that are strictly necessary to build the library.
Introduce asm/vdso/clocksource.h to contain all the arm64 specific
functions that are suitable for vDSO inclusion.
This header will be required by a future patch that will generalize
vdso/clocksource.h.

If the current clocksource is not VDSO capable there is no point in
updating the high resolution parts of the VDSO data.
Replace the architecture specific check with a check for a VDSO capable

A few archs (x86, arm, arm64) don't rely anymore on TIF_NOHZ to call
into context tracking on user entry/exit but instead use static keys
(or not) to optimize those calls. Ideally every arch should migrate to
that behaviour in the long run.
Settle a config option to let those archs remove their TIF_NOHZ
definitions.

disable_nonboot_cpus() is not safe to use when doing machine_down(),
because it relies on freeze_secondary_cpus() which in turn is
a suspend/resume related freeze and could abort if the logic detects any
pending activities that can prevent finishing the offlining process.
Beside disable_nonboot_cpus() is dependent on CONFIG_PM_SLEEP_SMP which
is an othogonal config to rely on to ensure this function works
correctly.

"Updates for the interrupt subsystem:
Treewide:
- Cleanup of setup_irq() which is not longer required because the
memory allocator is available early.
Most cleanup changes come through the various maintainer trees, so
the final removal of setup_irq() is postponed towards the end of
the merge window.
Core:
- Protection against unsafe invocation of interrupt handlers and
unsafe interrupt injection including a fixup of the offending
PCI/AER error injection mechanism.
Invoking interrupt handlers from arbitrary contexts, i.e. outside
of an actual interrupt, can cause inconsistent state on the
fragile x86 interrupt affinity changing hardware trainwreck.

- Second wave of support for the new ARM GICv4.1
- Multi-instance support for Xilinx and PLIC interrupt controllers

"The main changes in this cycle are:
- Various NUMA scheduling updates: harmonize the load-balancer and
NUMA placement logic to not work against each other. The intended
result is better locality, better utilization and fewer migrations.
- Introduce Thermal Pressure tracking and optimizations, to improve
task placement on thermally overloaded systems.
- Implement frequency invariant scheduler accounting on (some) x86
CPUs. This is done by observing and sampling the 'recent' CPU
frequency average at ~tick boundaries. The CPU provides this data
via the APERF/MPERF MSRs. This hopefully makes our capacity
estimates more precise and keeps tasks on the same CPU better even
if it might seem overloaded at a lower momentary frequency. (As
usual, turbo mode is a complication that we resolve by observing
the maximum frequency and renormalizing to it.)
- Add asymmetric CPU capacity wakeup scan to improve capacity
utilization on asymmetric topologies. (big.LITTLE systems)
- PSI fixes and optimizations.
- RT scheduling capacity awareness fixes & improvements.
- Optimize the CONFIG_RT_GROUP_SCHED constraints code.
- Misc fixes, cleanups and optimizations - see the changelog for

Pull EFI updates from Ingo Molnar:
"The EFI changes in this cycle are much larger than usual, for two
(positive) reasons:
- The GRUB project is showing signs of life again, resulting in the
introduction of the generic Linux/UEFI boot protocol, instead of
x86 specific hacks which are increasingly difficult to maintain.
There's hope that all future extensions will now go through that
boot protocol.
- Preparatory work for RISC-V EFI support.
The main changes are:
- Boot time GDT handling changes
- Simplify handling of EFI properties table on arm64
- Generic EFI stub cleanups, to improve command line handling, file
I/O, memory allocation, etc.
- Introduce a generic initrd loading method based on calling back
into the firmware, instead of relying on the x86 EFI handover
protocol or device tree.
- Introduce a mixed mode boot method that does not rely on the x86
EFI handover protocol either, and could potentially be adopted by
other architectures (if another one ever surfaces where one
execution mode is a superset of another)
- Clean up the contents of 'struct efi', and move out everything that
doesn't need to be stored there.
- Incorporate support for UEFI spec v2.8A changes that permit
firmware implementations to return EFI_UNSUPPORTED from UEFI
runtime services at OS runtime, and expose a mask of which ones are
supported or unsupported via a configuration table.
- Partial fix for the lack of by-VA cache maintenance in the
decompressor on 32-bit ARM.
- Changes to load device firmware from EFI boot service memory
regions
- Various documentation updates and minor code cleanups and fixes"

The following commit:
c7225494b ("efi/arm: Work around missing cache maintenance in decompressor handover")
modified the EFI handover code written in assembler to work around the
missing cache maintenance of the piece of code that is executed after the
MMU and caches are turned off.
Due to the fact that this sequence incorporates a subroutine call, cleaning
that code from the cache is not a matter of simply passing the start and end of
the currently running subroutine into cache_clean_flush(), which is why
instead, the code jumps across into the cleaned copy of the image.
However, this assumes that this copy is executable, and this means we
expect EFI_LOADER_DATA regions to be executable as well, which is not
a reasonable assumption to make, even if this is true for most UEFI
implementations today.
So change this back, and add a cache_clean_flush() call to cover the
remaining code in the subroutine, and any code it may execute in the
context of cache_off().

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/efi/efi into efi/core
Pull EFI updates for v5.7 from Ard Biesheuvel:
This time, the set of changes for the EFI subsystem is much larger than
usual. The main reasons are:
- Get things cleaned up before EFI support for RISC-V arrives, which will
increase the size of the validation matrix, and therefore the threshold to
making drastic changes,
- After years of defunct maintainership, the GRUB project has finally started
to consider changes from the distros regarding UEFI boot, some of which are
highly specific to the way x86 does UEFI secure boot and measured boot,
based on knowledge of both shim internals and the layout of bootparams and
the x86 setup header. Having this maintenance burden on other architectures
(which don't need shim in the first place) is hard to justify, so instead,
we are introducing a generic Linux/UEFI boot protocol.
Summary of changes:
- Boot time GDT handling changes (Arvind)
- Simplify handling of EFI properties table on arm64
- Generic EFI stub cleanups, to improve command line handling, file I/O,
memory allocation, etc.
- Introduce a generic initrd loading method based on calling back into
the firmware, instead of relying on the x86 EFI handover protocol or
device tree.
- Introduce a mixed mode boot method that does not rely on the x86 EFI
handover protocol either, and could potentially be adopted by other
architectures (if another one ever surfaces where one execution mode
is a superset of another)
- Clean up the contents of struct efi, and move out everything that
doesn't need to be stored there.
- Incorporate support for UEFI spec v2.8A changes that permit firmware
implementations to return EFI_UNSUPPORTED from UEFI runtime services at
OS runtime, and expose a mask of which ones are supported or unsupported
via a configuration table.
- Various documentation updates and minor code cleanups (Heinrich)
- Partial fix for the lack of by-VA cache maintenance in the decompressor
on 32-bit ARM. Note that these patches were deliberately put at the
beginning so they can be used as a stable branch that will be shared with
a PR containing the complete fix, which I will send to the ARM tree.

Now that we have added new ways to load the initrd or the mixed mode
kernel, we will also need a way to tell the loader about this. Add
symbolic constants for the PE/COFF major/minor version numbers (which
fortunately have always been 0x0 for all architectures), so that we
can bump them later to document the capabilities of the stub.

Expose efi_entry() as the PE/COFF entrypoint directly, instead of
jumping into a wrapper that fiddles with stack buffers and other
stuff that the compiler is much better at. The only reason this
code exists is to obtain a pointer to the base of the image, but
we can get the same value from the loaded_image protocol, which
we already need for other reasons anyway.
Update the return type as well, to make it consistent with what
is required for a PE/COFF executable entrypoint.

In preparation for turning the decompressor's cache clean/flush
operations into proper by-VA maintenance for v7 cores, pass the
start and end addresses of the regions that need cache maintenance
into cache_clean_flush in registers r0 and r1.
Currently, all implementations of cache_clean_flush ignore these
values, so no functional change is expected as a result of this
patch.

The EFI stub executes within the context of the zImage as it was
loaded by the firmware, which means it is treated as an ordinary
PE/COFF executable, which is loaded into memory, and cleaned to
the PoU to ensure that it can be executed safely while the MMU
and caches are on.
When the EFI stub hands over to the decompressor, we clean the caches
by set/way and disable the MMU and D-cache, to comply with the Linux
boot protocol for ARM. However, cache maintenance by set/way is not
sufficient to ensure that subsequent instruction fetches and data
accesses done with the MMU off see the correct data. This means that
proceeding as we do currently is not safe, especially since we also
perform data accesses with the MMU off, from a literal pool as well as
the stack.
So let's kick this can down the road a bit, and jump into the relocated
zImage before disabling the caches. This removes the requirement to
perform any by-VA cache maintenance on the original PE/COFF executable,
but it does require that the relocated zImage is cleaned to the PoC,
which is currently not the case. This will be addressed in a subsequent
patch.

FDC registers FD_STATUS, FD_DATA, FD_DOR, FD_DIR and FD_DCR used to be
defined relative to FD_IOPORT, which is the FDC's base address, itself
a macro depending on the "fdc" local or global variable.
This patch changes this so that the register macros above now only
reference the address offset, and that the FDC's address is explicitly
passed in each call to fd_inb() and fd_outb(), thus removing the macro.
With this change there is no more implicit usage of the local/global
"fdc" variable.
One place in the ARM code used to check if the port was equal to FD_DOR,
this was changed to testing the register by applying a mask to the port,
as was already done in the sparc code.
There are still occurrences of fd_inb() and fd_outb() in the PARISC
code and these ones remain unaffected since they already used to work
with a base address and a register offset.
The sparc, m68k and parisc code could now be slightly cleaned up to
benefit from the macro definitions above instead of the equivalent
hard-coded values.

The fd_outb() macro on ARM relies on a special fd_setdor() macro when
the register is FD_DOR and both will need to be changed to accept a
separate base address. Let's just remerge them to simplify the change
and make this code more easily reviewable.
