* m32r: export empty_zero_pageAdrian Bunk2008-09-271-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | ERROR: "empty_zero_page" [fs/ext4/ext4dev.ko] undefined! Reported-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Hirokazu Takata <takata@linux-m32r.org>
* m32r: convert to generic helpers for IPI function callsJens Axboe2008-06-261-3/+0
| | | | | | | | | This converts m32r to use the new helpers for smp_call_function() and friends, and adds support for smp_call_function_single(). Not tested, not even compiled. Cc: Hirokazu Takata <takata@linux-m32r.org> Signed-off-by: Jens Axboe <jens.axboe@oracle.com>
* Generic semaphore implementationMatthew Wilcox2008-04-171-5/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | Semaphores are no longer performance-critical, so a generic C implementation is better for maintainability, debuggability and extensibility. Thanks to Peter Zijlstra for fixing the lockdep warning. Thanks to Harvey Harrison for pointing out that the unlikely() was unnecessary. * header cleaning: don't include smp_lock.h when not usedRandy Dunlap2007-05-081-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | Remove includes of <linux/smp_lock.h> where it is not used/needed. Suggested by Al Viro. Builds cleanly on x86_64, i386, alpha, ia64, powerpc, sparc, sparc64, and arm (all 59 defconfigs). * [PATCH] No arch-specific strpbrk implementationsKyle McMartin2006-04-111-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | While cleaning up parisc_ksyms.c earlier, I noticed that strpbrk wasn't being exported from lib/string.c. Investigating further, I noticed a changeset that removed its export and added it to _ksyms.c on a few more architectures. The justification was that "other arches do it." I think this is wrong, since no architecture currently defines __HAVE_ARCH_STRPBRK, there's no reason for any of them to be exporting it themselves. Therefore, consolidate the export to lib/string.c. * [PATCH] m32r: security fix of {get,put}_user macrosHirokazu Takata2006-04-111-4/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Update {get,put}_user macros for m32r kernel. - Modify get_user to use __get_user_asm macro, instead of __get_user_x macro. - Remove arch/m32r/lib/{get,put}user.S. - Some cosmetic updates. I would like to thank NIIBE Yutaka for his reporting about the m32r kernel's security problem in {get,put}_user macros. There were no address checking for user space access in {get,put}_user macros. ;-) Signed-off-by: Hirokazu Takata <takata@linux-m32r.org> Cc: NIIBE Yutaka <gniibe@fsij.org> Cc: <stable@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
