git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap into fixes
A rather big fix for a regression where we have dropped omap4 hwmod
data earlier but are not initializing it from device tree. In addition
to this fix we eventually also be fix the issues in the .dts files
and drivers, but that's too intrusive for the -rc cycle and must be
done later on.
Also a fix for a regression where we now are wrongly trying to initialize
devices on secure omaps like n900 and n9* when booted using device tree.
We need to set aes, sham and timer12 to disabled mode for secure
devices as they are claimed by the firmware running in the secure mode.
And two more legacy booting vs device tree based booting fixes for
am3517 that I did not notice earlier until Nishant Menon reported
these to me few days ago. With these we're good to go having v3.13
working both for legacy booting and device tree based booting, and we
can then go ahed and drop the legacy booting for mach-omap2 for v3.14.

Commit 7ce93f3 (ARM: OMAP2+: Fix more missing data for omap3.dtsi file)
fixed missing device tree data for omaps, but did not account for some of the
hardware modules being inaccessible for secure omaps. This causes the
following error on secure omaps:

Let's fix the issue by adding omap34xx-hs.dtsi and omap36xx-hs.dtsi and make
n900, n9 and n950 to use them. This way we have the aes, sham and timer12
disabled for secure devices the same way legacy booting does based on the
omap34xx_gp_hwmod_ocp_ifs and omap36xx_gp_hwmod_ocp_ifs arrays in
omap_hwmod_3xxx_data.c.

The am3517 is wrongly booting as omap3 which means that the am3517
specific devices like Ethernet won't work when booted with device
tree. Now with the new devices defined in am3517.dtsi, let's use
that instead of the omap3.dtsi, and add a separate machine entry
for am3517 so am3517-evm can use it.

we currently have not defined. Let's fix that by adding am3517.dtsi

We have some device tree properties where the ti,hwmod have multiple
values:
am33xx.dtsi: ti,hwmods = "tpcc", "tptc0", "tptc1", "tptc2";
am4372.dtsi: ti,hwmods = "tpcc", "tptc0", "tptc1", "tptc2";
dra7.dtsi: ti,hwmods = "l3_main_1", "l3_main_2";
omap3.dtsi: ti,hwmods = "mcbsp2", "mcbsp2_sidetone";
omap3.dtsi: ti,hwmods = "mcbsp3", "mcbsp3_sidetone";
omap4.dtsi: ti,hwmods = "l3_main_1", "l3_main_2", "l3_main_3";
omap5.dtsi: ti,hwmods = "l3_main_1", "l3_main_2", "l3_main_3";
That's not correct way of doing things in this case because these are
separate devices with their own address space, interrupts, SYSCONFIG
registers and can set their PM states independently.
So they should all be fixed up to be separate devices in the .dts files.
We also have the related data removed for at least omap4 in commit
3b9b10151c68 (ARM: OMAP4: hwmod data: Clean up the data file), so
that data is wrongly initialized as null data.
So we need to fix two bugs:
1. We are only checking the first entry of the ti,hwmods property
This means that we're only initializing the first hwmods entry
instead of the ones listed in the ti,hwmods property.
2. We are only checking the child nodes, not the nodes themselves
This means that anything listed at OCP level is currently just
ignored and unitialized and at least the omap4 case, with the
legacy data missing from the hwmod.
Fix both of the issues by using an index to the ti,hwmods property
and changing the hwmod lookup function to also check the current node
for ti,hwmods property instead of just the children.
While at it, let's also add some warnings for the bad data so it's
easier to fix.

Pull x86 and EFI fixes from Peter Anvin:
"Half of these are EFI-related:
The by far biggest change is the change to hold off the deletion of a
sysfs entry while a backend scan is in progress. This is to avoid
calling kmemdup() while under a spinlock.
The other major change is for each entry in the EFI pstore backend to
get a unique identifier, as required by the pstore filesystem proper.
The other changes are:
A fix to the recent consolidation and optimization of using "asm goto"
with read-modify-write operation, which broke the bitops; specifically
in such a way that we could end up generating invalid code.
A build hack to make sure we compile with -mno-sse. icc, and most
likely future versions of gcc, can generate SSE instructions unless we
tell it not to.
A comment-only patch to a change the was due in part to an unpublished
erratum; now when the erratum is published we want to add a comment
explaining why"

In checkin:
0c44c2d0f459 x86: Use asm goto to implement better modify_and_test() functions
the various functions which do modify and test were unified and
optimized using "asm goto". However, this change missed the detail
that the bitops require an "Ir" constraint rather than an "er"
constraint ("I" = integer constant from 0-31, "e" = signed 32-bit
integer constant). This would cause code to miscompile if these
functions were used on constant bit positions 32-255 and the build to
fail if used on constant bit positions above 255.
Add the constraints as a parameter to the GEN_BINARY_RMWcc() macro to
avoid this problem.

Always pass in the -mno-sse argument, regardless if
-preferred-stack-boundary is supported. We never want to generate SSE
instructions in the kernel unless we *really* know what we're doing.
According to H. J. Lu, any version of gcc new enough that we support
it at all should handle the -mno-sse option, so just add it
unconditionally.

"Another batch of fixes for ARM SoCs for 3.13. The diffstat is large,
mostly because of:
- Another set of fixes to fix regressions caused by moving OMAP from
board files to DT. Tony thinks this was the last major set of
fixes, with maybe just a few small patches to follow.
- More fixes for Marvell platforms, most dealing with misdescribed
PCIe hardware, i.e. incorrect number of busses on some SoCs, etc.
The line delta adds up due to various ranges moving around when
this is fixed.
But there's also:
- Some smaller tweaks to defconfigs to make more boards bootable in
my test setup for better coverage.
- There are also a few other smaller fixes, a short series for at91,
a couple of reverts for ux500, etc"

When building a 64bit kernel sometimes functions in the .init section were not
able to reach the standard kernel function. Main reason for this problem is,
that the linkage tables (.plt, .opd, .dlt) tend to become pretty huge and thus
the distance gets too big for short calls.
One option to avoid this is to use the -mlong-calls compiler option, but this
increases the binary size and introduces a performance penalty.
Instead, with this patch we just lay out the binary differently. Init code is
stored first, followed by text, R/O and finally R/W data. This means, that init
and text code is now much closer to each other, which is sufficient to reach
each other by short calls.

mmap2(NULL, 536870912, PROT_NONE, MAP_SHARED, 3, 0) = 0x42a54000
mmap2(0x42a54000, 103860, PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE, MAP_SHARED|MAP_FIXED, 3, 0) = -1 EINVAL (Invalid argument)
Basically it was just trying to re-mmap() a file at the same address
which it was given by a previous mmap() call. But this remapping failed
with EINVAL.
The problem is, that when MAP_FIXED and MAP_SHARED flags were used, we didn't
included the mapping-based offset when we verified the alignment of the given
fixed address against the offset which we calculated it in the previous call.

Some s390 crypto algorithms incorrectly use the crypto_tfm structure to
store private data. As the tfm can be shared among multiple threads, this
can result in data corruption.
This patch fixes aes-xts by moving the xts and pcc parameter blocks from
the tfm onto the stack (48 + 96 bytes).

The timer code for at91rm9200 was already converted some time ago by
Shawn Guo in commit 838a2ae (ARM: use clockevents_config_and_register()
where possible) but because of a rounding issue in the timer core this
resulted in an easily reproducible oops. So it was reverted (commit
b7a8ca5 (ARM: at91: rm9200 fix time support)) which stopped the oops
from happening because min_delta_ns is increased by one in arch code
which stopped from problem from happening.
Now that the timer core problem is fixed (commit a4578ea (clockevents:
Sanitize ticks to nsec conversion)), we can switch back to the
clockevents_config_and_register helper.

Vince's perf-trinity fuzzer found yet another 'interesting' problem.
When we sample the irq_work_exit tracepoint with period==1 (or
PERF_SAMPLE_PERIOD) and we add an fasync SIGNAL handler we create an
infinite event generation loop:
,-> <IPI>
| irq_work_exit() ->
| trace_irq_work_exit() ->
| ...
| __perf_event_overflow() -> (due to fasync)
| irq_work_queue() -> (irq_work_list must be empty)
'--------- arch_irq_work_raise()
Similar things can happen due to regular poll() wakeups if we exceed
the ring-buffer wakeup watermark, or have an event_limit.
To avoid this, dis-allow sampling this particular tracepoint.
In order to achieve this, create a special perf_perm function pointer
for each event and call this (when set) on trying to create a
tracepoint perf event.

Copying a function with memcpy() and then trying to execute the
result isn't trivially portable to Thumb.
This patch modifies the kexec soft restart code to copy its
assembler trampoline relocate_new_kernel() using fncpy() instead,
so that relocate_new_kernel can be in the same ISA as the rest of
the kernel without problems.

After "ARM: signal: sigreturn_codes should be endian neutral to
work in BE8" commit, thumb only platforms, like armv7m, fails to
compile sigreturn_codes.S. The reason is that for such arch
values '.arm' directive and arm opcodes are not allowed.
Fix conditionally enables arm opcodes only if no CONFIG_CPU_THUMBONLY
defined and it uses .org instructions to keep sigreturn_codes
layout.

Commit f6f91b0d9fd9 (ARM: allow kuser helpers to be removed from the
vector page) required two pages for the vectors code. Although the
code setting up the initial page tables was updated, the code which
allocates page tables for new processes wasn't, neither was the code
which tears down the mappings. Fix this.

Pull ARM64 fixes from Catalin Marinas:
- Remove preempt_count modifications in the arm64 IRQ handling code
since that's already dealt with in generic irq_enter/irq_exit
- PTE_PROT_NONE bit moved higher up to avoid overlapping with the
hardware bits (for PROT_NONE mappings which are pte_present)
- Big-endian fixes for ptrace support
- Asynchronous aborts unmasking while in the kernel
- pgprot_writecombine() change to create Normal NonCacheable memory
rather than Device GRE

PTE_PROT_NONE means that a pte is present but does not have any
read/write attributes. However, setting the memory type like
pgprot_writecombine() is allowed and such bits overlap with
PTE_PROT_NONE. This causes mmap/munmap issues in drivers that change the
vma->vm_pg_prot on PROT_NONE mappings.
This patch reverts the PTE_FILE/PTE_PROT_NONE shift in commit
59911ca4325d (ARM64: mm: Move PTE_PROT_NONE bit) and moves PTE_PROT_NONE
together with the other software bits.

The asynchronous aborts are generally fatal for the kernel but they can
be masked via the pstate A bit. If a system error happens while in
kernel mode, it won't be visible until returning to user space. This
patch enables this kind of abort early to help identifying the cause.

Commit f27dde8deef3 (sched: Add NEED_RESCHED to the preempt_count)
introduced the use of bit 31 in preempt_count for obscure scheduling
purposes.
This causes interrupts taken from EL0 to hit the (open coded) BUG when
this flag is flipped while handling the interrupt (we compare the
values before and after, and kill the kernel if they are different).
The fix is to stop messing with the preempt count entirely, as this
is already being dealt with in the generic code (irq_enter/irq_exit).
Tested on a dual A53 FPGA running cyclictest.

Git commit 9e34f2686bb088b211b6cac8772e1f644c6180f8
"s390/mm,tlb: tlb flush on page table upgrade fixup" removed the
exception handler for the asce-type exception. This is incorrect
as the user-copy with MVCOS can cause asce-type exceptions in
the kernel if a user pointer is too large. Those need to be
handled with do_no_context to branch to the fixup in the
user-copy code.
The simplest fix for this problem is to call do_dat_exception for
asce-type excpetions, as there is no vma for the address the code
will handle the exception correctly.

Git commit 4f37a68cdaf6dea833cfdded2a3e0c47c0f006da
"s390: Use direct ktime path for s390 clockevent device" makes use
of the CLOCK_EVT_FEAT_KTIME clockevent option to avoid the delta
calculation with ktime_get() in clockevents_program_event and the
get_tod_clock() in s390_next_event. This is based on the assumption
that the difference between the internal ktime and the hardware
clock is reflected in the wall_to_monotonic delta. But this is not
true, the ntp corrections are applied via changes to the tk->mult
multiplier and this is not reflected in wall_to_monotonic.
In theory this could be solved by using the raw monotonic clock
but it is simpler to switch back to the standard clock delta
calculation.
