For example, when the bus does not support unaligned access, IP header parsing will cause non-aligned access and driver does not recopy the skb buffer to dma for performance reasons. Added kernel_enable & user_enable to control unaligned access and added kernel_count & user_count for statistical unaligned access. We fix it up now and update the mechanism: - Zero page needn't be flushed. - If page is file mapping & non-touched in user space, defer flush. - If page is anon mapping or dirty file mapping, flush immediately. - In update_mmu_cache finish the defer flush by flush_dcache_page(). Using bar.xxx to implement mb() will cause problem when sync data with dma device, becasue bar.xxx couldn't guarantee bus transactions finished at outside bus level. This error was accidentally propagated to stable by me when I blindly requested the pull after seeing I2C issues without actually reviewing the content of the pinout. Since the bootloader previously muxed these correctly in the past, was a hidden error. This patch moves the i2c2_pins and i2c3_pins to the correct node which should eliminate i2c bus errors and timeouts due to the fact the bootloader uses the save device tree that no longer properly assigns these pins. Some architectures map the memmap area with large page size. On architectures like ppc64, 16MB page for memap mapping can map 262144 pfns. This maps a namespace size of 16G. When populating memmap region with 16MB page from the device area, make sure the allocated space is not used to map resources outside this namespace. Such usage of device area will prevent a namespace destroy. Add resource end pnf in altmap and use that to check if the memmap area allocation can map pfn outside the namespace. On ppc64 in such case we fallback to allocation from memory. This can cause stores to continue to go to a page after it's unmapped. The workaround is to force an ERAT flush using PID=0 or LPID=0 tlbie flush. This additional TLB flush will cause the ERAT cache invalidation. Since we are using PID=0 or LPID=0, we don't get filtered out by the TLB snoop filtering logic. We need to still follow this up with another tlbie to take care of store vs tlbie ordering issue explained in commit: a5d4b5891c2f ("powerpc/mm: Fixup tlbie vs store ordering issue on POWER9"). The presence of ERAT cache implies we can still get new stores and they may miss store queue marking flush. These functions pair with each other to synchronize the sender and receiver sides. With that change in place the above workload ran for 20 hours without triggering any lock-ups. This causes all new architecture features to be made available when running on newer processors with new architecture features added to the PCR as bits must be set to disable a given feature. For example to disable new features added as part of Version 2.07 of the ISA the corresponding bit in the PCR needs to be set. As new processor features generally require explicit kernel support they should be disabled until such support is implemented. Therefore kernels should set all unknown/reserved bits in the PCR such that any new architecture features which the kernel does not currently know about get disabled. An update is planned to the ISA to clarify that the PCR is an exception to the Programming Note on reserved bits in Section 1.3.3. Reject the option when the kernel is locked down. This requires some reworking of the existing RSDP command line logic, since the early boot code also makes use of a command-line passed RSDP when locating the SRAT table before the lockdown code has been initialised. This is achieved by separating the command line RSDP path in the early boot code from the generic RSDP path, and then copying the command line RSDP into boot params in the kernel proper if lockdown is not enabled. If lockdown is enabled and an RSDP is provided on the command line, this will only be used when parsing SRAT (which shouldn't permit kernel code execution) and will be ignored in the rest of the kernel. A locked down kernel needs to prevent unsigned kernel images from being loaded with kexec_file_load(). Currently, the only way to force the signature verification is compiling with KEXEC_VERIFY_SIG. This prevents loading usigned images even when the kernel is not locked down at runtime. This patch splits KEXEC_VERIFY_SIG into KEXEC_SIG and KEXEC_SIG_FORCE. Analogous to the MODULE_SIG and MODULE_SIG_FORCE for modules, KEXEC_SIG turns on the signature verification but allows unsigned images to be loaded. KEXEC_SIG_FORCE disallows images without a valid signature.
