In order to avoid aliasing attacks against the branch predictor
on Cortex-A15, let's invalidate the BTB on guest exit, which can
only be done by invalidating the icache (with ACTLR[0] being set).

In order to avoid aliasing attacks against the branch predictor,
let's invalidate the BTB on guest exit. This is made complicated
by the fact that we cannot take a branch before invalidating the
BTB.
We only apply this to A12 and A17, which are the only two ARM
cores on which this useful.

Add support for per-processor bug checking - each processor function
descriptor gains a function pointer for this check, which must not be
an __init function. If non-NULL, this will be called whenever a CPU
enters the kernel via which ever path (boot CPU, secondary CPU startup,
CPU resuming, etc.)
This allows processor specific bug checks to validate that workaround
bits are properly enabled by firmware via all entry paths to the kernel.

The root cause of above backtrace is task_lock() which takes a sleeping
lock on -RT.
To fix the issue, move clear_tasks_mm_cpumask() call from __cpu_disable()
to __cpu_die() which is called on the thread which is asking for a target
CPU to be shutdown. In addition, this change restores CPU hotplug
functionality on ARM CPU1 can be unplugged/plugged many times.

NUMREGBYTES (which is used as the size for gdb_regs[]) is incorrectly
based on DBG_MAX_REG_NUM instead of GDB_MAX_REGS. DBG_MAX_REG_NUM
is the number of total registers, while GDB_MAX_REGS is the number
of 'unsigned longs' it takes to serialize those registers. Since
FP registers require 3 'unsigned longs' each, DBG_MAX_REG_NUM is
smaller than GDB_MAX_REGS.
This causes GDB 8.0 give the following error on connect:
"Truncated register 19 in remote 'g' packet"
This also causes the register serialization/deserialization logic
to overflow gdb_regs[], overwriting whatever follows.

ARMv8R/M architecture defines new memory protection scheme - PMSAv8
which is not compatible with PMSAv7.
Key differences to PMSAv7 are:
- Region geometry is defined by base and limit addresses
- Addresses need to be either 32 or 64 byte aligned
- No region priority due to overlapping regions are not allowed
- It is unified, i.e. no distinction between data/instruction regions
- Memory attributes are controlled via MAIR
This patch implements support for PMSAv8 MPU defined by ARMv8R/M
architecture.

Currently, we have mixed code placement between .head.text and .text
depends on configuration we are building:
_text M R(UP) R(SMP)
======================================================
__setup_mpu __HEAD __HEAD text
__after_proc_init __HEAD __HEAD text
__mmap_switched text text text
We are going to support another variant of MPU which is different to
PMSAv7 in sense overlapping MPU regions are not allowed, so this patch
makes boundaries between these sections precise and consistent:
_text M R(UP) R(SMP)
======================================================
__setup_mpu __HEAD __HEAD __HEAD
__after_proc_init text text text
__mmap_switched text text text
Additionally, it paves a path to postpone MPU activation till
__after_proc_init where we do set SCTLR anyway and can return
directly to __mmap_switched.

While testing multi_v7_defconfig with config fragments that makes the
kernel size to grow. The kernel fails to load simple modules, as
reported by kselftest:
[ 34.107620] test_printf: section 4 reloc 2 sym 'memset': relocation
28 out of range (0xbf046044 -> 0xc109f720)
selftests: printf.sh [FAIL]
The problem that is seen when enabling too much in the kernel without
enabling ARM_MODULE_PLTS, is that the top of the kernel gets out of
reach from the bottom of the module area.

Pull Kconfig updates from Masahiro Yamada:
"Kconfig now supports new functionality to perform textual
substitution. It has been a while since Linus suggested to move
compiler option tests from makefiles to Kconfig. Finally, here it is.
The implementation has been generalized into a Make-like macro
language.
Some built-in functions such as 'shell' are provided. Variables and
user-defined functions are also supported so that 'cc-option',
'ld-option', etc. are implemented as macros.
Summary:
- refactor package checks for building {m,n,q,g}conf
- remove unused/unmaintained localization support
- remove Kbuild cache
- drop CONFIG_CROSS_COMPILE support
- replace 'option env=' with direct variable expansion
- add built-in functions such as 'shell'
- support variables and user-defined functions
- add helper macros as as 'cc-option'
- add unit tests and a document of the new macro language
- add 'testconfig' to help
- fix warnings from GCC 8.1"

The kernel configuration phase is now tightly coupled with the compiler
in use. It will be nice to show the compiler information in Kconfig.
The compiler information will be displayed like this:
$ make ARCH=arm64 CROSS_COMPILE=aarch64-linux-gnu- config
scripts/kconfig/conf --oldaskconfig Kconfig
*
* Linux/arm64 4.16.0-rc1 Kernel Configuration
*
*
* Compiler: aarch64-linux-gnu-gcc (Linaro GCC 7.2-2017.11) 7.2.1 20171011
*
*
* General setup
*
Compile also drivers which will not load (COMPILE_TEST) [N/y/?]
If you use GUI methods such as menuconfig, it will be displayed in the
top menu.
This is simply implemented by using the 'comment' statement. So, it
will be saved into the .config file as well.
This commit has a very important meaning. If the compiler is upgraded,
Kconfig must be re-run since different compilers have different sets
of supported options.
All referenced environments are written to include/config/auto.conf.cmd
so that any environment change triggers syncconfig, and prompt the user
to input new values if needed.
With this commit, something like follows will be added to
include/config/auto.conf.cmd
ifneq "$(CC_VERSION_TEXT)" "aarch64-linux-gnu-gcc (Linaro GCC 7.2-2017.11) 7.2.1 20171011"
include/config/auto.conf: FORCE

To get access to environment variables, Kconfig needs to define a
symbol using "option env=" syntax. It is tedious to add a symbol entry
for each environment variable given that we need to define much more
such as 'CC', 'AS', 'srctree' etc. to evaluate the compiler capability
in Kconfig.
Adding '$' for symbol references is grammatically inconsistent.
Looking at the code, the symbols prefixed with 'S' are expanded by:
- conf_expand_value()
This is used to expand 'arch/$ARCH/defconfig' and 'defconfig_list'
- sym_expand_string_value()
This is used to expand strings in 'source' and 'mainmenu'
All of them are fixed values independent of user configuration. So,
they can be changed into the direct expansion instead of symbols.
This change makes the code much cleaner. The bounce symbols 'SRCARCH',
'ARCH', 'SUBARCH', 'KERNELVERSION' are gone.
sym_init() hard-coding 'UNAME_RELEASE' is also gone. 'UNAME_RELEASE'
should be replaced with an environment variable.
ARCH_DEFCONFIG is a normal symbol, so it should be simply referenced
without '$' prefix.
The new syntax is addicted by Make. The variable reference needs
parentheses, like $(FOO), but you can omit them for single-letter
variables, like $F. Yet, in Makefiles, people tend to use the
parenthetical form for consistency / clarification.
At this moment, only the environment variable is supported, but I will
extend the concept of 'variable' later on.
The variables are expanded in the lexer so we can simplify the token
handling on the parser side.
For example, the following code works.
[Example code]
config MY_TOOLCHAIN_LIST
string
default "My tools: CC=$(CC), AS=$(AS), CPP=$(CPP)"
[Result]
$ make -s alldefconfig && tail -n 1 .config
CONFIG_MY_TOOLCHAIN_LIST="My tools: CC=gcc, AS=as, CPP=gcc -E"

By default, sparse assumes a 64bit machine when compiled on x86-64
and 32bit when compiled on anything else.
This can of course create all sort of problems for the other archs, like
issuing false warnings ('shift too big (32) for type unsigned long'), or
worse, failing to emit legitimate warnings.
Fix this by adding the -m32/-m64 flag, depending on CONFIG_64BIT,
to CHECKFLAGS in the main Makefile (and so for all archs).
Also, remove the now unneeded -m32/-m64 in arch specific Makefiles.

The kernel depends on macros like __BYTE_ORDER__,
__BIG_ENDIAN__ or __LITTLE_ENDIAN__.
OTOH, sparse doesn't know about the endianness of the kernel and
by default uses the same as the machine on which sparse was built.
Ensure that sparse can predefine the macros corresponding to
how the kernel was configured by adding -m{big,little}-endian
to CHECKFLAGS in the main Makefile (and so for all archs).
Also, remove the equivalent done in arch specific Makefiles.

ASoC: Updates for v4.18
This is a very big update, mainly due to a huge set of new drivers some
of which are individually very large. We also have a lot of fixes for
the topology stuff, several of the users have stepped up and fixed some
the serious issues there, and continued progress on the transition away
from CODEC specific drivers to generic component drivers.
- Many fixes for the topology code, including fixes for the half done
v4 ABI compatibility from Guenter Roeck and other ABI fixes from
Kirill Marinushkin.
- Lots of cleanup for Intel platforms based on Realtek CODECs from Hans
de Goode.
- More followups on removing legacy CODEC things and transitioning to
components from Morimoto-san.
- Conversion of OMAP DMA to the new, more standard SDMA-PCM driver.
- A series of fixes and updates to the rather elderly Cirrus Logic SoC
drivers from Alexander Sverdlin.
- Qualcomm DSP support from Srinivas Kandagatla.
- New drivers for Analog SSM2305, Atmel I2S controllers, Mediatek
MT6351, MT6797 and MT7622, Qualcomm DSPs, Realtek RT1305, RT1306 and
RT5668 and TI TSCS454

The previous implementation has had a detrimental effect on devices using
high bitrates (bluetooth), as the fifo being non-empty for a single check
would result in a 10 µs delay.
Limit the change to devices with the new "marvell,armada-38x-uart"
compatible string. Also update the code to allow the first 1000 retries
to not perform a delay.
The maximum duration of retries has been increased to cover a worst-case
seen on the Armada 385 SoC. "dmesg ; resize", will fill the buffer with
text to output before doing a resize. At 9600 baud this took up to 13 ms
to flush all characters and avoid some getting lost.

This driver is a logical device which provides an
interface between the hypervisor and a management
partition. This interface is like a message
passing interface. This management partition
is intended to provide an alternative to HMC-based
system management.
VMC enables the Management LPAR to provide basic
logical partition functions:
- Logical Partition Configuration
- Boot, start, and stop actions for individual
partitions
- Display of partition status
- Management of virtual Ethernet
- Management of virtual Storage
- Basic system management
This driver is to be used for the POWER Virtual
Management Channel Virtual Adapter on the PowerPC
platform. It provides a character device which
allows for both request/response and async message
support through the /dev/ibmvmc node.
