* [PATCH] aoe: cleanup i_rdev usageEric Sesterhenn2006-07-101-1/+1
| | | | | | | Signed-off-by: Eric Sesterhenn <snakebyte@gmx.de> Signed-off-by: Alexey Dobriyan <adobriyan@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
* [NET]: Clean up skb_linearizeHerbert Xu2006-06-181-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The linearisation operation doesn't need to be super-optimised. So we can replace __skb_linearize with __pskb_pull_tail which does the same thing but is more general. Also, most users of skb_linearize end up testing whether the skb is linear or not so it helps to make skb_linearize do just that. Some callers of skb_linearize also use it to copy cloned data, so it's useful to have a new function skb_linearize_cow to copy the data if it's either non-linear or cloned. Last but not least, I've removed the gfp argument since nobody uses it anymore. If it's ever needed we can easily add it back. Misc bugs fixed by this patch: * via-velocity error handling (also, no SG => no frags) Signed-off-by: Herbert Xu <herbert@gondor.apana.org.au> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [PATCH] mempool: use mempool_create_slab_pool()Matthew Dobson2006-03-261-3/+1
| | | | | | | | | | Modify well over a dozen mempool users to call mempool_create_slab_pool() rather than calling mempool_create() with extra arguments, saving about 30 lines of code and increasing readability. Signed-off-by: Matthew Dobson <colpatch@us.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

* [PATCH] aoe [4/8]: use less confusing driver nameEd L. Cashin2006-03-241-1/+1
| | | | | | | | Users were confused by the driver being called "aoe-2.6-$version". This form looks less like a Linux kernel version number. Signed-off-by: "Ed L. Cashin" <ecashin@coraid.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>

* [PATCH] Add block_device_operations.getgeo block device methodChristoph Hellwig2006-01-091-19/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | HDIO_GETGEO is implemented in most block drivers, and all of them have to duplicate the code to copy the structure to userspace, as well as getting the start sector. This patch moves that to common code [1] and adds a ->getgeo method to fill out the raw kernel hd_geometry structure. For many drivers this means ->ioctl can go away now. [1] the s390 block drivers are odd in this respect. xpram sets ->start to 4 always which seems more than odd, and the dasd driver shifts the start offset around, probably because of it's non-standard sector size. * [NET]: Kill skb->real_devDavid S. Miller2005-08-301-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | Bonding just wants the device before the skb_bond() decapsulation occurs, so simply pass that original device into packet_type->func() as an argument. It remains to be seen whether we can use this same exact thing to get rid of skb->input_dev as well. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
