* gpio: Use new GPIO_LINE_DIRECTIONMatti Vaittinen2019-11-071-1/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It's hard for occasional GPIO code reader/writer to know if values 0/1 equal to IN or OUT. Use defined GPIO_LINE_DIRECTION_IN and GPIO_LINE_DIRECTION_OUT to help them out. NOTE - for gpio-amd-fch and gpio-bd9571mwv: This commit also changes the return value for direction get to equal 1 for direction INPUT. Prior this commit these drivers might have returned some other positive value but 1 for INPUT. * gpio: htc-egpio: remove redundant error messageBartosz Golaszewski2019-10-091-17/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | There's no need to emit an error message on probe failure unless we're printing some meaningful info. Otherwise the core driver code will inform us about a probe error. Also: the driver currently drops info about errors propagated from called functions by default to returning -EINVAL. This fixes it as well. This patch replaces cases of: devm_kzalloc(handle, a * b, gfp) with: devm_kcalloc(handle, a * b, gfp) as well as handling cases of: devm_kzalloc(handle, a * b * c, gfp) with: devm_kzalloc(handle, array3_size(a, b, c), gfp) as it's slightly less ugly than: devm_kcalloc(handle, array_size(a, b), c, gfp) This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like: devm_kzalloc(handle, 4 * 1024, gfp) though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion. Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were dropped, since they're redundant. Some manual whitespace fixes were needed in this patch, as Coccinelle really liked to write "=devm_kcalloc..." instead of "= devm_kcalloc...". The Coccinelle script used for this was: // Fix redundant parens around sizeof(). @@ expression HANDLE; type TYPE; expression THING, E; @@ ( devm_kzalloc(HANDLE, - (sizeof(TYPE)) * E + sizeof(TYPE) * E , ...) | devm_kzalloc(HANDLE, - (sizeof(THING)) * E + sizeof(THING) * E , ...) ) // Drop single-byte sizes and redundant parens. @@ expression HANDLE; * gpio: htc-gpio: Include the right headerLinus Walleij2018-03-191-0/+1
| | | | | | | | This driver is a pure GPIO driver and should only include <linux/gpio/driver.h>. Drop the include of <linux/gpio.h> from the platform data header as well, it serves no purpose. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>

| | | | | | | | | When the hardware is in output mode, reading the value from the hardware is not giving the correct value back. Instead read the value from the cache so we get the right value. * gpio: htc-egpio: Make it explicitly non-modularPaul Gortmaker2016-11-041-30/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The Kconfig currently controlling compilation of this code is: drivers/gpio/Kconfig:config HTC_EGPIO drivers/gpio/Kconfig: bool "HTC EGPIO support" ...meaning that it currently is not being built as a module by anyone. Lets remove the modular code that is essentially orphaned, so that when reading the driver there is no doubt it is builtin-only. We explicitly disallow a driver unbind, since that doesn't have a sensible use case anyway, and it allows us to drop the ".remove" code for non-modular drivers. Since module_init was not in use by this code, the init ordering remains unchanged with this commit. We also delete the MODULE_LICENSE tag etc. since all that information is already contained at the top of the file in the comments.
