* hwmon: (adt7475) Add support for Imon readout on ADT7490Timothy Pearson2023-10-271-6/+62
| | | | | | | | | | | Add support for the ADT7490's Imon voltage readout. It is handled largely the same way as the existing Vtt readout. * hwmon: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring2023-08-211-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. * hwmon: Switch i2c drivers back to use .probe()Uwe Kleine-König2023-06-081-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | After commit b8a1a4cd5a98 ("i2c: Provide a temporary .probe_new() call-back type"), all drivers being converted to .probe_new() and then 03c835f498b5 ("i2c: Switch .probe() to not take an id parameter") convert back to (the new) .probe() to be able to eventually drop .probe_new() from struct i2c_driver. * hwmon: (adt7475) Convert to use device_property APIsChris Packham2023-06-081-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | Instead of of_property_read_*() use the equivalent device_property_read_*() API. This will allow these properties to be used on DT unaware platforms. For DT aware platforms this will be a noop. * hwmon: (adt7475) Use device_property APIs when configuring polarityChris Packham2023-04-211-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | On DT unaware platforms of_property_read_u32_array() returns -ENOSYS which wasn't handled by the code treating adi,pwm-active-state as optional. Update the code to use device_property_read_u32_array() which deals gracefully with DT unaware platforms. * hwmon: (adt7475) Add support for pin configurationChris Packham2022-05-221-0/+96
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The adt7473, adt7475, adt7476 and adt7490 have pins that can be used for different functions. On the adt7473 and adt7475 this is pins 5 and 9. On the adt7476 and adt7490 this is pins 10 and 14. The first pin can either be PWM2(default) or SMBALERT#. The second pin can be TACH4(default), THERM#, SMBALERT# or GPIO. The adt7475 driver has always been able to detect the configuration if it had been done by an earlier boot stage. * hwmon: use simple i2c probe functionStephen Kitt2020-09-231-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Many hwmon drivers don't use the id information provided by the old i2c probe function, and the remainder can easily be adapted to the new form ("probe_new") by calling i2c_match_id explicitly. This avoids scanning the identifier tables during probes. Drivers which didn't use the id are converted as-is; drivers which did are modified as follows: * if the information in i2c_client is sufficient, that's used instead (client->name); * anything else is handled by calling i2c_match_id() with the same level of error-handling (if any) as before. A few drivers aren't included in this patch because they have a different set of maintainers. They will be covered by other patches. * hwmon: (adt7475) Make volt2reg return same reg as reg2volt inputLuuk Paulussen2020-01-171-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | reg2volt returns the voltage that matches a given register value. Converting this back the other way with volt2reg didn't return the same register value because it used truncation instead of rounding. This meant that values read from sysfs could not be written back to sysfs to set back the same register value. With this change, volt2reg will return the same value for every voltage previously returned by reg2volt (for the set of possible input values) Signed-off-by: Luuk Paulussen <luuk.paulussen@alliedtelesis.co.nz> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20191205231659.1301-1-luuk.paulussen@alliedtelesis.co.nz cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Signed-off-by: Guenter Roeck <linux@roeck-us.net>

* hwmon: (adt7475) Add OF device ID tableJavier Martinez Canillas2017-04-021-1/+30
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The driver doesn't have a struct of_device_id table but supported devices are registered via Device Trees. This is working on the assumption that a I2C device registered via OF will always match a legacy I2C device ID and that the MODALIAS reported will always be of the form i2c:<device>. But this could change in the future so the correct approach is to have an OF device ID table if the devices are registered via OF. * hwmon: I2C addresses are constantJean Delvare2010-10-281-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | We can mark normal_i2c const. Almost all drivers do that already, so fix the 3 remaining ones before they are used as (bad) examples for new drivers. * i2c: Drop I2C_CLIENT_INSMOD_2 to 8Jean Delvare2009-12-141-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | These macros simply declare an enum, so drivers might as well declare it themselves. This puts an end to the arbitrary limit of 8 chip types per i2c driver. Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Tested-by: Wolfram Sang <w.sang@pengutronix.de>
* i2c: Get rid of struct i2c_client_address_dataJean Delvare2009-12-141-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | Struct i2c_client_address_data only contains one field at this point, which makes its usefulness questionable. Get rid of it and pass simple address lists around instead. Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Tested-by: Wolfram Sang <w.sang@pengutronix.de>
* i2c: Drop the kind parameter from detect callbacksJean Delvare2009-12-141-1/+1
| | | | | | | | The "kind" parameter always has value -1, and nobody is using it any longer, so we can remove it. Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Tested-by: Wolfram Sang <w.sang@pengutronix.de>
* hwmon: (adt7475) Add VID support for the ADT7476Jean Delvare2009-12-091-3/+63
| | | | | | | | | | The ADT7476 has 5 dedicated pins for VID input, and the +12V input can optionally be used as a 6th VID pin. Add support for VID input. * hwmon: (adt7475) Add support for the ADT7476Jean Delvare2009-12-091-18/+62
| | | | | | | | | | | | Add support for the Analog Devices ADT7476 chip. This chip is largely compatible with the ADT7473 and ADT7475, with additional features. In particular, it has 5 voltage inputs instead of 2, and VID input pins. * hwmon: (adt7475) Voltage attenuators can be bypassedJean Delvare2009-12-091-6/+36
| | | | | | | | | | | | | It is possible to bypass the voltage attenuators on the +2.5V, Vccp, +5V and +12V voltage monitoring inputs. This is useful to connect other voltage channels than the ones the monitoring chip was originally designed for. When this feature is enabled, we must not include the scaling factors in our computations. * hwmon: (adt7475) Handle alternative pin functionsJean Delvare2009-12-091-15/+99
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | The TACH4 pin can be used for other functions, so fan4 may not always be available. Likewise, the PWM2 pin can be used for ALERT output, in which case pwm2 is not available For the ADT7490, the +2.5 Vin pin may also be used for other functions, in which case in0 is not available.
