* media: Bulk remove BUG_ON(in_interrupt())Thomas Gleixner2020-11-161-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | None of these BUG_ON()'s is justified. BUG_ON() should only be used when there is really no way to survive. If at all these could be replaced by lockdep_assert_preemption_enabled() to cover all invalid caller context and not just those covered by in_interrupt(). But all functions which are invoked from those places contain already debug mechanisms to catch wrong context, so having these extra checks is not having any advantage. * mm: reorder includes after introduction of linux/pgtable.hMike Rapoport2020-06-091-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The replacement of <asm/pgrable.h> with <linux/pgtable.h> made the include of the latter in the middle of asm includes. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The include/linux/pgtable.h is going to be the home of generic page table manipulation functions. This patch replaces cases of: kmalloc(a * b, gfp) with: kmalloc_array(a * b, gfp) as well as handling cases of: kmalloc(a * b * c, gfp) with: kmalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp) as it's slightly less ugly than: kmalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp) This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like: kmalloc(4 * 1024, gfp) though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion. Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were dropped, since they're redundant. The tools/ directory was manually excluded, since it has its own implementation of kmalloc(). The Coccinelle script used for this was: // Fix redundant parens around sizeof(). @@ type TYPE; expression THING, E; @@ ( kmalloc( - (sizeof(TYPE)) * E + sizeof(TYPE) * E , ...) | kmalloc( - (sizeof(THING)) * E + sizeof(THING) * E , ...) ) // Drop single-byte sizes and redundant parens. @@ expression COUNT; | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Never use sg++, always use sg = sg_next(sg). Scatterlist entries can be combined if the memory is contiguous but sg++ won't know about that. As far as I can tell cx88 and ivtv are really broken because of this, and bttv and cx25821 are OK because vb1 doesn't combine scatterlist entries. But regardless, sg++ should never be used, only sg_next is safe. Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hans.verkuil@cisco.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@osg.samsung.com>
