(Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the error is ignored.) So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to return 0 before. This is working on the assumption that a I2C device registered via OF will always match a legacy I2C device ID and that the MODALIAS reported will always be of the form i2c:<device>. But this could change in the future so the correct approach is to have an OF device ID table if the devices are registered via OF. This is not considered a good practice anymore, as it makes harder to grep for strings at the source code. As we're right now fixing other drivers due to KERN_CONT, we need to be able to identify what printk strings don't end with a "\n". It is a way easier to detect those if we don't break long lines.
