* [media] move i2c files into drivers/media/i2cMauro Carvalho Chehab2012-08-151-1378/+0

* [media] convert drivers/media/* to use module_i2c_driver()Axel Lin2012-03-081-12/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch converts the drivers in drivers/media/* to use the module_i2_driver() macro which makes the code smaller and a bit simpler. * include cleanup: Update gfp.h and slab.h includes to prepare for breaking ↵Tejun Heo2010-03-301-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | implicit slab.h inclusion from percpu.h percpu.h is included by sched.h and module.h and thus ends up being included when building most .c files. percpu.h includes slab.h which in turn includes gfp.h making everything defined by the two files universally available and complicating inclusion dependencies. percpu.h -> slab.h dependency is about to be removed. Prepare for this change by updating users of gfp and slab facilities include those headers directly instead of assuming availability. As this conversion needs to touch large number of source files, the following script is used as the basis of conversion. http://userweb.kernel.org/~tj/misc/slabh-sweep.py The script does the followings. * Scan files for gfp and slab usages and update includes such that only the necessary includes are there. ie. if only gfp is used, gfp.h, if slab is used, slab.h. * When the script inserts a new include, it looks at the include blocks and try to put the new include such that its order conforms to its surrounding. It's put in the include block which contains core kernel includes, in the same order that the rest are ordered - alphabetical, Christmas tree, rev-Xmas-tree or at the end if there doesn't seem to be any matching order. * If the script can't find a place to put a new include (mostly because the file doesn't have fitting include block), it prints out an error message indicating which .h file needs to be added to the file. The conversion was done in the following steps. 1. The initial automatic conversion of all .c files updated slightly over 4000 files, deleting around 700 includes and adding ~480 gfp.h and ~3000 slab.h inclusions. The script emitted errors for ~400 files. 2. Each error was manually checked. Some didn't need the inclusion, some needed manual addition while adding it to implementation .h or embedding .c file was more appropriate for others. This step added inclusions to around 150 files. 3. The script was run again and the output was compared to the edits from #2 to make sure no file was left behind. 4. Several build tests were done and a couple of problems were fixed. e.g. lib/decompress_*.c used malloc/free() wrappers around slab APIs requiring slab.h to be added manually. 5. The script was run on all .h files but without automatically editing them as sprinkling gfp.h and slab.h inclusions around .h files could easily lead to inclusion dependency hell. Most gfp.h inclusion directives were ignored as stuff from gfp.h was usually wildly available and often used in preprocessor macros. Each slab.h inclusion directive was examined and added manually as necessary. 6. percpu.h was updated not to include slab.h. 7. Build test were done on the following configurations and failures were fixed. CONFIG_GCOV_KERNEL was turned off for all tests (as my distributed build env didn't work with gcov compiles) and a few more options had to be turned off depending on archs to make things build (like ipr on powerpc/64 which failed due to missing writeq). * x86 and x86_64 UP and SMP allmodconfig and a custom test config. * powerpc and powerpc64 SMP allmodconfig * sparc and sparc64 SMP allmodconfig * ia64 SMP allmodconfig * s390 SMP allmodconfig * alpha SMP allmodconfig * um on x86_64 SMP allmodconfig 8. percpu.h modifications were reverted so that it could be applied as a separate patch and serve as bisection point. Given the fact that I had only a couple of failures from tests on step 6, I'm fairly confident about the coverage of this conversion patch. If there is a breakage, it's likely to be something in one of the arch headers which should be easily discoverable easily on most builds of the specific arch. * V4L/DVB (13396): correct initialization of audio_modeJulia Lawall2009-12-051-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | This initialization of the value of audio_mode is the one used if nothing matches in the subsequent switch. The variable audio_mode is subsequently assigned to constants such as TUNER_AUDIO_MONO and TUNER_AUDIO_STEREO. TUNER_AUDIO_STEREO has the same value as V4L2_TUNER_MODE_STEREO, so it would seem better to use that value here. * V4L/DVB (13241): Cleanup redundant tests on unsignedRoel Kluin2009-12-051-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | The variables are unsigned so the test `>= 0' is always true, the `< 0' test always fails. In these cases the other part of the test catches wrapped values. Signed-off-by: Roel Kluin <roel.kluin@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
* V4L/DVB (11380): v4l2-subdev: change s_routing prototypeHans Verkuil2009-04-071-11/+12
| | | | | | | | | It is no longer needed to use a struct pointer as argument, since v4l2_subdev doesn't require that ioctl-like approach anymore. Instead just pass the input, output and config (new!) arguments directly. Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hverkuil@xs4all.nl> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
* V4L/DVB (11370): v4l2-subdev: move s_std from tuner to core.Hans Verkuil2009-04-071-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | s_std didn't belong in the tuner ops. Stricly speaking it should be part of the video ops, but it is used by audio and tuner devices as well, so it is more efficient to make it part of the core ops. * V4L/DVB (10141): v4l2: debugging API changed to match against driver name ↵Hans Verkuil2009-01-021-4/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | instead of ID. Since the i2c driver ID will be removed in the near future we have to modify the v4l2 debugging API to use the driver name instead of driver ID. Note that this API is not used in applications other than v4l2-dbg.cpp as it is for debugging and testing only. Should anyone use the old VIDIOC_G_CHIP_IDENT, then this will be logged with a warning that it is deprecated and will be removed in 2.6.30. * i2c: Convert remaining new-style drivers to use module aliasingJean Delvare2008-05-181-2/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | Update all the remaining new-style i2c drivers to use standard module aliasing instead of the old driver_name/type driver matching scheme. Note that the tuner driver is a bit quirky at the moment, as it overwrites i2c_client.name with arbitrary strings. We write "tuner" back on remove, to make sure that driver cycling will work properly, but there may still be troublesome corner cases. Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org>
* i2c: Add support for device alias namesJean Delvare2008-04-291-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Based on earlier work by Jon Smirl and Jochen Friedrich. This patch allows new-style i2c chip drivers to have alias names using the official kernel aliasing system and MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE(). At this point, the old i2c driver binding scheme (driver_name/type) is still supported. * V4L/DVB (7535): saa717x: add new audio/video decoder i2c driverHans Verkuil2008-04-241-0/+1516
Added the last remaining out-of-tree kernel driver from the ivtv project. The saa717x is used in several Japanese cards and a Russian card. The driver is not complete in that only NTSC is supported and no PAL/SECAM. Hopefully this will be added in the future.
