* drivers: net: xgene: fix extra IRQ issueIyappan Subramanian2016-01-252-3/+10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | For interrupt controller that doesn't support irq_disable and hardware with level interrupt, an extra interrupt may be pending. This patch fixes the issue by setting IRQ_DISABLE_UNLAZY flag for the interrupt line, as suggested by, 'commit e9849777d0e2 ("genirq: Add flag to force mask in disable_irq[_nosync]()")' Signed-off-by: Iyappan Subramanian <isubramanian@apm.com> Tested-by: Toan Le <toanle@apm.com> Signed-off-by: David S. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently the Tx flow control is based on reading the hardware state, which is not accurate since it may not reflect the descriptors that are not yet reached the memory. | * net: fix phy refcounting in a bunch of driversRussell King2015-09-251-8/+16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | of_phy_find_device() increments the phy struct device refcount, which we need to properly balance. Add code to network drivers using this function to ensure that the struct device refcount is correctly balanced. For xgene, looking back in the history, we should be able to use of_phy_connect() with a zero flags argument for the DT case as this is how the driver used to operate prior to de7b5b3d790a ("net: eth: xgene: change APM X-Gene SoC platform ethernet to support ACPI"). This leaves the Cavium Thunder BGX unfixed; fixing this driver is a complicated task, one which the maintainers need to be involved with. |\ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Four minor merge conflicts: 1) qca_spi.c renamed the local variable used for the SPI device from spi_device to spi, meanwhile the spi_set_drvdata() call got moved further up in the probe function. 2) Two changes were both adding new members to codel params structure, and thus we had overlapping changes to the initializer function. 3) 'net' was making a fix to sk_release_kernel() which is completely removed in 'net-next'. 4) In net_namespace.c, the rtnl_net_fill() call for GET operations had the command value fixed, meanwhile 'net-next' adjusted the argument signature a bit. This is an incorrect test. When booting with UEFI and devicetree, the kernel must still initialize the enet hw clocks. If booting with ACPI, the clock hw is not exposed to the kernel and it is that case where we want to avoid initializing clocks. In the include/linux/if_vlan.h case, the type used for a local variable was changed in 'net', whereas the function got rewritten to fix a stacked vlan bug in 'net-next'. In drivers/vhost/net.c, Al Viro's iov_iter conversions in 'net-next' overlapped with an endainness fix for VHOST 1.0 in 'net'. In drivers/net/vxlan.c, vxlan_find_vni() added a 'flags' parameter in 'net-next' whereas in 'net' there was a bug fix to pass in the correct network namespace pointer in calls to this function. If the CPU executes the above two reads in out of order fashion, then the bytes[7:0] will have older data and causing the kernel panic. We have to force the order of the reads and thus this patch introduces read memory barrier between these reads.
