| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | "DQA" is shorthand for "dynamic queue allocation", with the idea of allocating queues per-RA/TID on-demand rather than using shared queues statically allocated per vif. The goal of this is to enable future features (like GO PM) and to improve performance measurements of TX traffic. When RA/TID streams can't be neatly sorted into different AC queues, DQA allows sharing queues for the same RA. This means that DQA allows different ACs may reach the same HW queue. Update the code to allow such queue sharing by having a mapping between the HW queue and the mac80211 queues using it (as this could be more than one queue). This introduces a number of helper functions/macros to set and to test the bits, along with new debugfs code. The occurrences of an explicit __clear_bit() are intentional, the drivers were never supposed to change their supported bits on the fly. We should investigate changing this to be a per-frame flag. Since that's error-prone, instead make the debug trigger collection function take a format string and format arguments (with compiler validity checking) and handle the buffer internally. This makes one behavioural change -- instead of sending the whole buffer to userspace (clearing is needed to not leak stack data) it just passes the actual string (including NUL-terminator.) | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The spec requires to decrement the CSA counters based on TBTT, regardless if the beacon was actually transmitted. Previously, the fw would send beacon notifications only for successfully transmitted beacons. This behavior resulted in inaccurate CSA countdown. In order to address this issue, the fw was changed to send beacon notifications also for not transmitted beacons. Such notifications have TX_STATUS_INTERNAL_ABORT (0x92). Don't start the CSA countdown before first successfully transmitted beacon, in order to guarantee that the CSA is announced for a required period. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The scheduler is a HW sub-block that directs the work of the Flow Handler by issuing requests for frame transfers, specifying source and destination. Its primary function is to allocate flows into the TX FIFOs based upon a pre-determined mapping. The driver has some responsibilities to the scheduler, namely initialising and maintaining the hardware registers. This is currently done by directly accessing them, which can cause races with the firmware also accessing the registers. To address this problem, change the driver to no longer directly access the registers but go through the firmware for this if the firmware has support for DQA and thus the new command. Also, the API defines that the CAB queue shouldn't be included in the TFD queue mask, adjust the comment accordingly (not a bug). In order to do this, we need to store the BSSID as it will have been cleared by mac80211 by the time we get notified of the disassociation. Also pass it around as an override to the various functions needing it, and keep taking it from the mac80211 data otherwise. This avoids having to keep track of the BSSID in all modes. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently, the MAC context tsf_id assignment and the master/slave relations are determined only when a new vif is added, as part of the MAC context resource allocation. However, at this stage, the beacon interval is not known, and thus could not be taken into account in the master-slave algorithm. To fix this, recalculate the MAC context tsf_id assignment, just before the MAC context is activated, i.e., just before a station VMAC is configured to associated and before an AP VMAC is started.
