* [S390] xpram: fix bio_end{_,}io typoMartin Schwidefsky2007-10-121-1/+1

* Drop 'size' argument from bio_endio and bi_end_ioNeilBrown2007-10-101-4/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | As bi_end_io is only called once when the reqeust is complete, the 'size' argument is now redundant. Remove it. Now there is no need for bio_endio to subtract the size completed from bi_size. So don't do that either. While we are at it, change bi_end_io to return void. * [BLOCK] Get rid of request_queue_t typedefJens Axboe2007-07-241-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | Some of the code has been gradually transitioned to using the proper struct request_queue, but there's lots left. So do a full sweet of the kernel and get rid of this typedef and replace its uses with the proper type. Signed-off-by: Jens Axboe <jens.axboe@oracle.com>
* [S390] Inline assembly cleanup.Martin Schwidefsky2006-09-281-40/+14
| | | | | | | | | | | | Major cleanup of all s390 inline assemblies. They now have a common coding style. Quite a few have been shortened, mainly by using register asm variables. Use of the EX_TABLE macro helps as well. The atomic ops, bit ops and locking inlines new use the Q-constraint if a newer gcc is used. That results in slightly better code. Thanks to Christian Borntraeger for proof reading the changes. Signed-off-by: Martin Schwidefsky <schwidefsky@de.ibm.com>
* [S390] xpram off by one error.Christian Borntraeger2006-09-201-1/+1
| | | | | | | The xpram driver shows and uses 4096 bytes less than available. Signed-off-by: Christian Borntraeger <cborntra@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Martin Schwidefsky <schwidefsky@de.ibm.com>
* [S390] xpram system device class.Martin Schwidefsky2006-08-071-24/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | Remove system device class for xpram. It creates the directory hierarchy under /sys/devices/system/xpram/xpram0. The xpram0 directory is empty and it is always created while xpram1 and following devices are always missing, independent if the devices exist or not. Since the xpram devices are listed in /proc/partitions and /sys/block/ as slram<x> the system device class for xpram is meaningless. Signed-off-by: Martin Schwidefsky <schwidefsky@de.ibm.com>
* [S390] xpram module parameter parsing - take 2.Heiko Carstens2006-07-171-3/+14
| | | | | | | Don't use memparse since the default size modifier is 'k'. Signed-off-by: Heiko Carstens <heiko.carstens@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Martin Schwidefsky <schwidefsky@de.ibm.com>
* [S390] xpram module parameter parsing.Heiko Carstens2006-07-121-57/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | The module parameters for xpram are not or in a wrong way parsed. The xpram module uses the module_param_array directive with an int parameter which causes the kernel to automatically parse the passed numbers. This will cause errors if arguments are omitted or cause wrong results if arguments have size qualifiers. Use module_param_array with charp and parse the arguments later. * [PATCH] devfs: Remove the gendisk devfs_name field as it's no longer neededGreg Kroah-Hartman2006-06-261-1/+0
| | | | | | | And remove the now unneeded number field. Also fixes all drivers that set these fields. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
* [PATCH] devfs: Remove the devfs_fs_kernel.h file from the treeGreg Kroah-Hartman2006-06-261-1/+0
| | | | | | Also fixes up all files that #include it. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
* [PATCH] devfs: Remove devfs_remove() function from the kernel treeGreg Kroah-Hartman2006-06-261-2/+0
| | | | | | Removes the devfs_remove() function and all callers of it. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
* [PATCH] devfs: Remove devfs_mk_dir() function from the kernel treeGreg Kroah-Hartman2006-06-261-2/+0

* [PATCH] Add block_device_operations.getgeo block device methodChristoph Hellwig2006-01-091-11/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | HDIO_GETGEO is implemented in most block drivers, and all of them have to duplicate the code to copy the structure to userspace, as well as getting the start sector. This patch moves that to common code [1] and adds a ->getgeo method to fill out the raw kernel hd_geometry structure. For many drivers this means ->ioctl can go away now. [1] the s390 block drivers are odd in this respect. xpram sets ->start to 4 always which seems more than odd, and the dasd driver shifts the start offset around, probably because of it's non-standard sector size. * [PATCH] s390: cleanup KconfigMartin Schwidefsky2006-01-061-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | Sanitize some s390 Kconfig options. We have ARCH_S390, ARCH_S390X, ARCH_S390_31, 64BIT, S390_SUPPORT and COMPAT. Replace these 6 options by S390, 64BIT and COMPAT. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
