* ide-scsi: merge idescsi_input_buffers() and idescsi_output_buffers()Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz2008-07-151-57/+24
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | * Merge idescsi_input_buffers() and idescsi_output_buffers() into ide_scsi_io_buffers() helper. While at it: * Log device name instead of driver name on error. * Use xfer_func_t. Cc: Borislav Petkov <petkovbb@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz <bzolnier@gmail.com>
* ide-scsi: fix Interrupt Reason checking in idescsi_pc_intr()Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz2008-07-151-6/+11
| | | | | | | | Set PC_FLAG_WRITING pc flag in idescsi_queue() (if needed) and then fix Interrupt Reason checking in idescsi_pc_intr(). Cc: Borislav Petkov <petkovbb@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz <bzolnier@gmail.com>
* ide-scsi: fix handling of DMA errors in idescsi_pc_intr()Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz2008-07-151-3/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | Check return value of ->dma_end method and if there was a DMA error handle it accordingly (set PC_FLAG_DMA_ERROR pc flag, don't update pc->xferred and increase rq->errors). Also move debug message in the right place while at it. Cc: Borislav Petkov <petkovbb@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz <bzolnier@gmail.com>
* ide-scsi: fix DRQ checking for DMA transfers in idescsi_pc_intr()Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz2008-07-151-1/+8
| | | | | | | | If DRQ bit of Status Register is not cleared it is an error condition and should be handled accordingly (disable DMA + reset the device). Cc: Borislav Petkov <petkovbb@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz <bzolnier@gmail.com>
* ide-scsi: fix race in idescsi_transfer_pc()Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz2008-07-151-3/+4
| | | | | | | | Start DMA engine before sending content of packet command (otherwise it is possible that IRQ will happen before DMA engine is started). Cc: Borislav Petkov <petkovbb@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz <bzolnier@gmail.com>
* ide: remove action argument in ide_do_drive_cmdFUJITA Tomonori2008-07-151-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | ide_do_drive_cmd is called only with ide_preempt action argument. So we can remove the action argument in ide_do_drive_cmd and ide_action_t typedef. This patch also includes two minor cleanups: 1) ide_do_drive_cmd always succeeds so we don't need the return value; 2) the callers use blk_rq_init before ide_do_drive_cmd so there is no need to initialize rq->errors. Signed-off-by: FUJITA Tomonori <fujita.tomonori@lab.ntt.co.jp> Cc: Borislav Petkov <petkovbb@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz <bzolnier@gmail.com>
* ide-scsi: replace ide_do_drive_cmd with blk_execute_rq_nowaitFUJITA Tomonori2008-07-151-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | All the callers of ide_do_drive_cmd() except for ide-scsi use ide_preempt action argument. This converts ide-scsi to use blk_execute_rq_nowait instead of ide_do_drive_cmd so that we can remove the action argument in ide_do_drive_cmd and ide_action_t typedef. * ide: pass 'hwif *' instead of 'drive *' to ->OUTBSYNC methodBartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz2008-07-151-1/+1
| | | | | | There should be no functional changes caused by this patch. Signed-off-by: Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz <bzolnier@gmail.com>
* ide: remove IDE_TFLAG_NO_SELECT_MASK taskfile flagBartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz2008-07-151-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Always call SELECT_MASK(..., 0) in ide_tf_load() (needs to be done to match ide_set_irq(..., 1)) and then remove IDE_TFLAG_NO_SELECT_MASK taskfile flag. This change should only affect hpt366 and icside host drivers since ->maskproc(..., 0) for sgiioc4 is equivalent to ide_set_irq(..., 1). * ide: remove ide_init_drive_cmdFUJITA Tomonori2008-07-151-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | ide_init_drive_cmd just calls blk_rq_init. This converts the users of ide_init_drive_cmd to use blk_rq_init directly and removes ide_init_drive_cmd. * ide: set REQ_PREEMPT request flag in ide_do_drive_cmd() usersBartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz2008-07-151-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * Set REQ_PREEMPT request flag in ide_do_drive_cmd() users for ide_preempt and ide_head_wait action types. * Remove setting REQ_PREEMPT from ide_do_drive_cmd(). While at it: * Set 'where' variable outside ide_lock. This is a preparation for converting IDE to use blk_execute_rq(). There should be no functional changes caused by this patch. * ide: add ide_pad_transfer() helperBartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz2008-04-281-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | * Add ide_pad_transfer() helper (which uses ->{in,out}put_data methods internally so the transfer is also padded to drive+host requirements) and use it instead of ide_atapi_{write_zeros,discard_data}(). * Remove no longer needed ide_atapi_{write_zeros,discard_data}(). * ide: add ide_execute_pkt_cmd() helperBartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz2008-04-281-3/+1
| | | | | | | | | | Add ide_execute_pkt_cmd() helper for executing PACKET command, then convert ATAPI device drivers to use it. As a nice side-effect this fixes ide-{floppy,tape,scsi} w.r.t. ide_lock taking (ide-cd was OK). Signed-off-by: Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz <bzolnier@gmail.com>

* ide: merge ->atapi_*put_bytes and ->ata_*put_data methodsBartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz2008-04-281-14/+13
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * Merge ->atapi_{in,out}put_bytes and ->ata_{in,out}put_data methods into new ->{in,out}put_data methods which take number of bytes to transfer as an argument and always do padding. While at it: * Use 'hwif' or 'drive->hwif' instead of 'HWIF(drive)'. There should be no functional changes caused by this patch (all users of ->ata_{in,out}put_data methods were using multiply-of-4 word counts). * ide: add struct ide_io_ports (take 3)Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz2008-04-271-7/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * Add struct ide_io_ports and use it instead of `unsigned long io_ports[]` in ide_hwif_t. * Rename io_ports[] in hw_regs_t to io_ports_array[]. * Use un-named union for 'unsigned long io_ports_array[]' and 'struct ide_io_ports io_ports' in hw_regs_t. * Remove IDE_*_OFFSET defines. v2: * scc_pata.c build fix from Stephen Rothwell. v3: * Fix ctl_adrr typo in Sparc-specific part of ns87415.c. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | - Convert ide-scsi to the new data accessors and cleanup the !use_sg code paths. In old code the driver was trying to translate narrow commands, if received, to wide commands. This code path still assumed scsi_cmnd->request_buffer is a linear char pointer. This means that this driver was broken since 2.6.17. As suggested by Christoph Hellwig I set use_10_for_rw = 1; and use_10_for_ms = 1; for this device and completely killed the translation.
