* soc: integrator: Drop pointless static qualifier in integrator_soc_init()YueHaibing2020-08-201-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | There is no need to have the 'struct regmap *syscon_regmap' variable static since new value always be assigned before use it. * soc: integrator: Use custom soc attribute group instead of device_create_fileSudeep Holla2020-07-061-5/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit c31e73121f4c ("base: soc: Handle custom soc information sysfs entries") introduced custom soc attribute group in soc_device_attribute structure but there are no users treewide. While trying to understand the motivation and tried to use it, it was found lot of existing custom attributes can moved to use it instead of device_create_file. Though most of these never remove/cleanup the custom attribute as they never call soc_device_unregister, using these custom attribute group eliminate the need for any cleanup as the driver infrastructure will take care of that. Let us remove device_create_file and start using the custom attribute group in soc_device_attribute. * soc: versatile: remove unnecessary static in realview_soc_probe()Gustavo A. R. Silva2017-08-161-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Remove unnecessary static on local variables syscon_regmap. Such variables are initialized before being used, on every execution path throughout the functions. The static has no benefit and, removing it reduces the object file size. This issue was detected using Coccinelle and the following semantic patch: @bad exists@ position p; identifier x; type T; @@ static T x@p; ... x = <+...x...+> @@ identifier x; expression e; type T; position p != bad.p; @@ -static T x@p; ... when != x when strict ?x = e; In the following log you can see the difference in the object file size. This log is the output of the size command, before and after the code change: before: text data bss dec hex filename 3339 2104 128 5571 15c3 drivers/soc/versatile/soc-realview.o after: text data bss dec hex filename 3321 2048 64 5433 1539 drivers/soc/versatile/soc-realview.o Signed-off-by: Gustavo A. * drivers/soc: Convert non-modular soc-realview to use builtin_platform_driverPaul Gortmaker2015-06-161-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This file depends on Kconfig SOC_REALVIEW which is a bool, so we use the appropriate registration function, which avoids us relying on an implicit inclusion of <module.h> which we are doing currently. While this currently works, we really don't want to be including the module.h header in non-modular code, which we'd be forced to do, pending some upcoming code relocation from init.h into module.h. So we fix it now by using the non-modular equivalent. | * soc: move SoC driver for the ARM IntegratorLinus Walleij2014-11-133-0/+164
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This creates a new SoC bus driver for the ARM Integrator family core modules to register the SoC bus and provide sysfs info for the core module. We delete the corresponding code from the Integrator machine and select this driver to get a clean result. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>

* soc: add driver for the ARM RealViewLinus Walleij2014-09-263-0/+155
This adds a SoC driver to be used by the ARM RealView reference boards. We create the "versatile" directory to hold the different ARM reference designs as per the pattern of the clk directory layout. The driver utilze the syscon to get to the register needed. After this we can use sysfs to get at some SoC properties on RealView DT variants like this: > cd /sysbus/soc/devices/soc0 > ls board family machine power subsystem build fpga manufacturer soc_id uevent > cat family Versatile > cat fpga Multi-layer AXI > cat board HBI-0147 > cat build 03 Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Conflicts: drivers/soc/Kconfig drivers/soc/Makefile
