* spi: use new `spi_transfer_delay_exec` helper where straightforwardAlexandru Ardelean2019-10-151-6/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | For many places in the spi drivers, using the new `spi_transfer_delay` helper is straightforward. It's just replacing: ``` if (t->delay_usecs) udelay(t->delay_usecs); ``` with `spi_transfer_delay(t)` which handles both `delay_usecs` and the new `delay` field. This change replaces in all places (in the spi drivers) where this change is simple. * spi: spi-topcliff-pch: Remove deprecated create_singlethread_workqueueBhaktipriya Shridhar2016-07-111-23/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The workqueue "wk" serves as a queue for carrying out execution of requests. It has a single work item(&drv_data->work) and hence doesn't require ordering. Also, it is not being used on a memory reclaim path. Hence, the singlethreaded workqueue has been replaced with the use of system_wq. System workqueues have been able to handle high level of concurrency for a long time now and hence it's not required to have a singlethreaded workqueue just to gain concurrency. Unlike a dedicated per-cpu workqueue created with create_singlethread_workqueue(), system_wq allows multiple work items to overlap executions even on the same CPU; however, a per-cpu workqueue doesn't have any CPU locality or global ordering guarantee unless the target CPU is explicitly specified and thus the increase of local concurrency shouldn't make any difference. Work item has been flushed in pch_spi_free_resources() to ensure that there are no pending tasks while disconnecting the driver. Also dropped the label 'err_return' since it's not being used anymore. | * spi/topcliff-pch: Fix device remove functionGuenter Roeck2012-08-271-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The call sequence spi_alloc_master/spi_register_master/spi_unregister_master is complete; it reduces the device reference count to zero, which results in device memory being freed. An extra call to spi_master_put is unnecessary and results in an access to free memory. Drop it. Also, the device subsystem resets device driver data to NULL after the call to the remove function returns, so there is no need to do it here. * spi: By default setup spi_masters with 1 chipselect and dynamics bus numberGrant Likely2012-05-201-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | Trivial simplification. Instead of requiring spi master drivers to always set the bus number (even when a dynamic number is desired), this patch modifies spi_alloc_master() to initialize num_chipselect to 1 (because there will always be at least one CS) and bus_num to -1 for dynamic allocation. This simplifies the code needed to be written for drivers. Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca>
* spi/topcliff: use correct __devexit_p annotationArnd Bergmann2012-05-201-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | __devexit functions are discarded when CONFIG_HOTPLUG is not set, so the symbol needs to be referenced carefully. Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Signed-off-by: Mathieu Poirier <mathieu.poirier@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca>

| * dmaengine/dma_slave: introduce inline wrappersAlexandre Bounine2012-03-211-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add inline wrappers for device_prep_slave_sg() and device_prep_dma_cyclic() interfaces to hide new parameter from current users of affected interfaces. Convert current users to use new wrappers instead of direct calls. Suggested by Russell King [https://lkml.org/lkml/2012/2/3/269].
