* usb: chipidea: imx: add one fsl picophy parameter tuning implementationXu Yang2023-07-251-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | In some cases, the user may need to tune the rise/fall time of the high-speed transmitter waveform for USB Certification. This will add a parameter for this purpose. The value will be fetched from dtb and finally written to the register. * usb: chipidea: imx: improve logic if samsung,picophy-* parameter is 0Xu Yang2023-07-251-4/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | In current driver, the value of tuning parameter will not take effect if samsung,picophy-* is assigned as 0. Because 0 is also a valid value acccording to the description of USB_PHY_CFG1 register, this will improve the logic to let it work. * usb: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring2023-07-251-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. * usb: chipidea/ci_hdrc_imx: Convert to platform remove callback returning voidUwe Kleine-König2023-05-281-4/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by returning an error code. However the value returned is ignored (apart from emitting a warning) and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already returns void. Eventually after all drivers are converted, .remove_new() is renamed to .remove(). Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove callback to the void returning variant. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When passing 'phys' in the devicetree to describe the USB PHY phandle (which is the recommended way according to Documentation/devicetree/bindings/usb/ci-hdrc-usb2.txt) the following NULL pointer dereference is observed on i.MX7 and i.MX8MM: [ 1.489344] Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 0000000000000098 [ 1.498170] Mem abort info: [ 1.500966] ESR = 0x96000044 [ 1.504030] EC = 0x25: DABT (current EL), IL = 32 bits [ 1.509356] SET = 0, FnV = 0 [ 1.512416] EA = 0, S1PTW = 0 [ 1.515569] FSC = 0x04: level 0 translation fault [ 1.520458] Data abort info: [ 1.523349] ISV = 0, ISS = 0x00000044 [ 1.527196] CM = 0, WnR = 1 [ 1.530176] [0000000000000098] user address but active_mm is swapper [ 1.536544] Internal error: Oops: 96000044 [#1] PREEMPT SMP [ 1.542125] Modules linked in: [ 1.545190] CPU: 3 PID: 7 Comm: kworker/u8:0 Not tainted 5.14.0-dirty #3 [ 1.551901] Hardware name: Kontron i.MX8MM N801X S (DT) [ 1.557133] Workqueue: events_unbound deferred_probe_work_func [ 1.562984] pstate: 80000005 (Nzcv daif -PAN -UAO -TCO BTYPE=--) [ 1.568998] pc : imx7d_charger_detection+0x3f0/0x510 [ 1.573973] lr : imx7d_charger_detection+0x22c/0x510 This happens because the charger functions check for the phy presence inside the imx_usbmisc_data structure (data->usb_phy), but the chipidea core populates the usb_phy passed via 'phys' inside 'struct ci_hdrc' (ci->usb_phy) instead. This causes the NULL pointer dereference inside imx7d_charger_detection(). Fix it by also searching for 'phys' in case 'fsl,usbphy' is not found. Tested on a imx7s-warp board. | | | | | | | | | | | | The polarity of the over current detection pin isn't configured on i.MX6/7 if it's unspecified in the device tree. * usb: chipidea: imx: support configuring for active low oc signalUwe Kleine-König2018-12-111-4/+12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The status quo on i.MX6 is that if "over-current-active-high" is specified in the device tree this is configured as expected. If the property is missing polarity isn't changed and so the polarity is kept as setup by the bootloader. Reset default is active high, so active low can only be used with help by the bootloader. On i.MX7 it is similar, but there disabling of over current detection has a similar inconsistency. This patch introduces a new property that allows to explicitly configure for active low over current detection and consistently sets this up. In the absence of an explicit configuration the bit is kept as is. On i.MX7 over current detection is used unless disabled in the device tree. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Now that the SPDX tag is in all USB files, that identifies the license in a specific and legally-defined manner. So the extra GPL text wording can be removed as it is no longer needed at all. This is done on a quest to remove the 700+ different ways that files in the kernel describe the GPL license text. And there's unneeded stuff like the address (sometimes incorrect) for the FSF which is never needed. No copyright headers or other non-license-description text was removed.
