* usb: exynos: Rename Samsung and Exynos to lowercaseKrzysztof Kozlowski2020-01-091-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Fix up inconsistent usage of upper and lowercase letters in "Samsung" and "Exynos" names. "SAMSUNG" and "EXYNOS" are not abbreviations but regular trademarked names. Therefore they should be written with lowercase letters starting with capital letter. The lowercase "Exynos" name is promoted by its manufacturer Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., in advertisement materials and on website. Although advertisement materials usually use uppercase "SAMSUNG", the lowercase version is used in all legal aspects (e.g. on Wikipedia and in privacy/legal statements on https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/privacy-global/). * usb: exynos: add support for getting PHYs from the standard dt arrayMarek Szyprowski2019-07-301-4/+19
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add the code for getting generic PHYs from standard device tree array from the main controller device node. This is a first step in resolving the conflict between Exynos EHCI/OHCI sub-nodes and generic USB device bindings. Later the sub-nodes currently used for assigning PHYs to root ports of the controller will be removed making a place for the generic USB device bindings nodes. * usb: exynos: add workaround for the USB device bindings conflictMarek Szyprowski2019-05-211-0/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit 69bec7259853 ("USB: core: let USB device know device node") added support for attaching devicetree node for USB devices. Those nodes are children of their USB host controller. However Exynos EHCI and OHCI driver bindings already define child-nodes for each physical root hub port and assigns respective PHY controller and parameters to them. Those bindings predates support for USB device tree nodes. To mitigate the side-effects of the conflict between those bindings, lets reset Exynos host controller of_node pointer before registering it to USB subsystem. This fixes the issue raised by the commit 01fdf179f4b0 ("usb: core: skip interfaces disabled in devicetree"), which incorrectly disabled some devices on Exynos based boards. * USB: host: ehci: Remove redundant license textGreg Kroah-Hartman2017-11-071-6/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Now that the SPDX tag is in all USB files, that identifies the license in a specific and legally-defined manner. So the extra GPL text wording can be removed as it is no longer needed at all. This is done on a quest to remove the 700+ different ways that files in the kernel describe the GPL license text. And there's unneeded stuff like the address (sometimes incorrect) for the FSF which is never needed. No copyright headers or other non-license-description text was removed. * USB: add SPDX identifiers to all remaining files in drivers/usb/Greg Kroah-Hartman2017-11-041-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It's good to have SPDX identifiers in all files to make it easier to audit the kernel tree for correct licenses. Update the drivers/usb/ and include/linux/usb* files with the correct SPDX license identifier based on the license text in the file itself. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text. * | usb: ehci/ohci-exynos: Fix of_node_put() for child when getting PHYsVivek Gautam2014-11-041-1/+0
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | On enabling CONFIG_OF_SELFTEST which enables CONFIG_OF_DYNAMIC, we found out that while getting PHYs for the controller we were doing an extra of_node_put on the child node in our routines - exynos_e/ohci_get_phy(). This child is however already put by of_get_next_available_child() which does a of_node_put() on the "prev" node. So there's no point in putting the same node again in our routine. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since we want to keep support for both older usb-phys as well as the newer generic phys, lets first get the generic PHYs and fallback to older USB-PHYs only when we fail to get the former. This should fix the issue with ehci-exynos and ohci-exynos, wherein in the absence of SAMSUNG_USB2PHY config symbol, we end up getting the NOP_USB_XCEIV phy when the same is enabled. | | | | | | | | | | | | Using devm_ioremap_resource() API should actually be preferred over devm_ioremap(), since the former request the mem region first and then gives back the ioremap'ed memory pointer. devm_ioremap_resource() calls request_mem_region(), therby preventing other drivers to make any overlapping call to the same region. * Merge branch 'for-linus-dma-masks' of git://git.linaro.org/people/rmk/linux-armLinus Torvalds2013-11-131-4/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Pull DMA mask updates from Russell King: "This series cleans up the handling of DMA masks in a lot of drivers, fixing some bugs as we go. Some of the more serious errors include: - drivers which only set their coherent DMA mask if the attempt to set the streaming mask fails. - drivers which test for a NULL dma mask pointer, and then set the dma mask pointer to a location in their module .data section - which will cause problems if the module is reloaded. To counter these, I have introduced two helper functions: - dma_set_mask_and_coherent() takes care of setting both the streaming and coherent masks at the same time, with the correct error handling as specified by the API. - dma_coerce_mask_and_coherent() which resolves the problem of drivers forcefully setting DMA masks. This is more a marker for future work to further clean these locations up - the code which creates the devices really should be initialising these, but to fix that in one go along with this change could potentially be very disruptive. The last thing this series does is prise away some of Linux's addition to "DMA addresses are physical addresses and RAM always starts at zero". We have ARM LPAE systems where all system memory is above 4GB physical, hence having DMA masks interpreted by (eg) the block layers as describing physical addresses in the range 0..DMAMASK fails on these platforms. Santosh Shilimkar addresses this in this series; the patches were copied to the appropriate people multiple times but were ignored. Fixing this also gets rid of some ARM weirdness in the setup of the max*pfn variables, and brings ARM into line with every other Linux architecture as far as those go" * 'for-linus-dma-masks' of git://git.linaro.org/people/rmk/linux-arm: (52 commits) ARM: 7805/1: mm: change max*pfn to include the physical offset of memory ARM: 7797/1: mmc: Use dma_max_pfn(dev) helper for bounce_limit calculations ARM: 7796/1: scsi: Use dma_max_pfn(dev) helper for bounce_limit calculations ARM: 7795/1: mm: dma-mapping: Add dma_max_pfn(dev) helper function ARM: 7794/1: block: Rename parameter dma_mask to max_addr for blk_queue_bounce_limit() ARM: DMA-API: better handing of DMA masks for coherent allocations ARM: 7857/1: dma: imx-sdma: setup dma mask DMA-API: firmware/google/gsmi.c: avoid direct access to DMA masks DMA-API: dcdbas: update DMA mask handing DMA-API: dma: edma.c: no need to explicitly initialize DMA masks DMA-API: usb: musb: use platform_device_register_full() to avoid directly messing with dma masks DMA-API: crypto: remove last references to 'static struct device *dev' DMA-API: crypto: fix ixp4xx crypto platform device support DMA-API: others: use dma_set_coherent_mask() DMA-API: staging: use dma_set_coherent_mask() DMA-API: usb: use new dma_coerce_mask_and_coherent() DMA-API: usb: use dma_set_coherent_mask() DMA-API: parport: parport_pc.c: use dma_coerce_mask_and_coherent() DMA-API: net: octeon: use dma_coerce_mask_and_coherent() DMA-API: net: nxp/lpc_eth: use dma_coerce_mask_and_coherent() ...
