* usb: otg: use try_module_get in all usb_get_phy functions and add missing ↵Marc Kleine-Budde2013-03-041-3/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | module_put In patch "5d3c28b usb: otg: add device tree support to otg library" devm_usb_get_phy_by_phandle() was added. It uses try_module_get() to lock the phy driver in memory. The corresponding module_put() is missing in that patch. This patch adds try_module_get() to usb_get_phy() and usb_get_phy_dev(). Further the missing module_put() is added to usb_put_phy(). * usb: otg: add device tree support to otg libraryKishon Vijay Abraham I2013-01-251-0/+80
| | | | | | | | | | | Added an API devm_usb_get_phy_by_phandle(), to get usb phy by passing a device node phandle value. This function will return a pointer to the phy on success, -EPROBE_DEFER if there is a device_node for the phandle, but the phy has not been added, or a ERR_PTR() otherwise. * usb: otg: utils: add facilities in phy lib to support multiple PHYs of same typeKishon Vijay Abraham I2013-01-251-1/+117
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In order to add support for multipe PHY's of the same type, new API's for adding PHY and getting PHY has been added. Now the binding information for the PHY and controller should be done in platform file using usb_bind_phy API. And for getting a PHY, the device pointer of the USB controller and an index should be passed. Based on the binding information that is added in the platform file, usb_get_phy_dev will return the appropriate PHY. Already existing API's to add and get phy by type is not removed. These API's are deprecated and will be removed once all the platforms start to use the new API. Signed-off-by: Kishon Vijay Abraham I <kishon@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Felipe Balbi <balbi@ti.com>
* usb: otg: add an api to bind the usb controller and phyKishon Vijay Abraham I2013-01-251-0/+37
| | | | | | | | | | | In order to support platforms which has multiple PHY's (of same type) and which has multiple USB controllers, a new design is adopted wherin the binding information (between the PHY and the USB controller) should be passed to the PHY library from platform specific file (board file). So added a new API to pass the binding information. Signed-off-by: Kishon Vijay Abraham I <kishon@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Felipe Balbi <balbi@ti.com>
* usb: otg: Remove the unneeded NULL checkShubhrajyoti D2012-08-091-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | The function usb_add_phy trusts the sanity of the caller. Also it accesses x after the NULL check. Remove the unneeded check. Signed-off-by: Shubhrajyoti D <shubhrajyoti@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Felipe Balbi <balbi@ti.com>
* usb: phy: fix error handling in usb_get_phyKishon Vijay Abraham I2012-07-021-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | spin_unlock_irqrestore() was not being called in the error path of usb_get_phy. It's fixed here. Reported-by: Marc Kleine-Budde <mkl@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Kishon Vijay Abraham I <kishon@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Felipe Balbi <balbi@ti.com>
* usb: phy: fix return value check of usb_get_phyKishon Vijay Abraham I2012-07-021-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | usb_get_phy will return -ENODEV if it's not able to find the phy. Hence fixed all the callers of usb_get_phy to check for this error condition instead of relying on a non-zero value as success condition. * usb: otg: utils: devres: Add API's to associate a device with the phyKishon Vijay Abraham I2012-06-251-0/+62

* usb: otg: support for multiple transceivers by a single controllerKishon Vijay Abraham I2012-06-251-12/+84
| | | | | | | | | | | Add a linked list for keeping multiple PHY instances with different types so that we can have separate USB2 and USB3 PHYs on one single board. _get_phy_ has been changed so that the controller gets the transceiver by type. _remove_phy_ has been added to let the phy be removed from the phy list. * usb: otg: utils: rename function name in OTG utilsKishon Vijay Abraham I2012-06-251-16/+16
| | | | | | | | | _transceiver() in otg.c is replaced with _phy. usb_set_transceiver is replaced with usb_add_phy to make it similar to other usb standard function names like usb_add_hcd. Signed-off-by: Kishon Vijay Abraham I <kishon@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Felipe Balbi <balbi@ti.com>

| | | | | | | | | | | | Introducing struct otg and collecting otg specific members to it from struct usb_phy. There are no changes to struct usb_phy at this stage. * usb: Add export.h for EXPORT_SYMBOL/THIS_MODULE where neededPaul Gortmaker2011-11-011-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | With module.h being implicitly everywhere via device.h, the absence of explicitly including something for EXPORT_SYMBOL went unnoticed. Since we are heading to fix things up and clean module.h from the device.h file, we need to explicitly include these files now. Use the lightweight version of the header that has just THIS_MODULE and EXPORT_SYMBOL variants. Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In the case where a gadget driver is removed while no transceiver was found at probe time, a bug in otg_put_transceiver() will trigger.
