* fbdev: fsl-diu-fb: Convert to platform remove callback returning voidUwe Kleine-König2023-04-241-4/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by returning an error code. However the value returned is (mostly) ignored and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already returns void. Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove callback to the void returning variant. * fbdev: Use fallthrough pseudo-keywordGustavo A. R. Silva2020-08-031-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | Replace the existing /* fall through */ comments and its variants with the new pseudo-keyword macro fallthrough[1]. Also, remove unnecessary fall-through markings when it is the case. * video: constify fb ops across all driversJani Nikula2019-12-051-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Now that the fbops member of struct fb_info is const, we can start making the ops const as well. This does not cover all drivers; some actually modify the fbops struct, for example to adjust for different configurations, and others do more involved things that I'd rather not touch in practically obsolete drivers. Mostly this is the low hanging fruit where we can add "const" and be done with it. v3: - un-constify atyfb, mb862xx, nvidia and uvesabf (0day) v2: - fix typo (Christophe de Dinechin) - use "static const" instead of "const static" in mx3fb.c - also constify smscufx.c Cc: linux-fbdev@vger.kernel.org Reviewed-by: Daniel Vetter <daniel.vetter@ffwll.ch> Signed-off-by: Jani Nikula <jani.nikula@intel.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/ce67f14435f3af498f2e8bf35ce4be11f7504132.1575390740.git.jani.nikula@intel.com

* fbdev: fsl-diu: remove redundant null check on cmapWen Yang2018-12-201-2/+1

* fbdev: fsl-diu: get cpu node with of_get_cpu_nodeRob Herring2018-09-281-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | "device_type" use is deprecated for FDT though it has continued to be used for nodes like cpu nodes. Use of_get_cpu_node() instead which works using node names by default. This will allow the eventually removal of cpu device_type properties. * video: fbdev: fsl-diu-fb: Remove VLA usageKees Cook2018-07-241-10/+13
| | | | | | | | | | | | | In the quest to remove all stack VLA usage from the kernel[1], this moves the buffer off the stack (since it could be as much as 1024 bytes), and uses a new area in the cursor data structure. Additionally adds missed documentation and removes redundant assignments. * video: move fbdev to drivers/video/fbdevTomi Valkeinen2014-04-171-0/+1994
The drivers/video directory is a mess. It contains generic video related files, directories for backlight, console, linux logo, lots of fbdev device drivers, fbdev framework files. Make some order into the chaos by creating drivers/video/fbdev directory, and move all fbdev related files there. No functionality is changed, although I guess it is possible that some subtle Makefile build order related issue could be created by this patch.
