* video: move fbdev to drivers/video/fbdevTomi Valkeinen2014-04-178-2420/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The drivers/video directory is a mess. It contains generic video related files, directories for backlight, console, linux logo, lots of fbdev device drivers, fbdev framework files. Make some order into the chaos by creating drivers/video/fbdev directory, and move all fbdev related files there. No functionality is changed, although I guess it is possible that some subtle Makefile build order related issue could be created by this patch. * video: kyro: fix incorrect sizes when copying to userspaceSasha Levin2013-11-261-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | kyro would copy u32s and specify sizeof(unsigned long) as the size to copy. This would copy more data than intended and cause memory corruption and might leak kernel memory. Signed-off-by: Sasha Levin <sasha.levin@oracle.com> Signed-off-by: Tomi Valkeinen <tomi.valkeinen@ti.com>

* Drivers: video: remove __dev* attributes.Greg Kroah-Hartman2013-01-041-11/+10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As a result, the __dev* markings need to be removed. This change removes the use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit from these drivers. Based on patches originally written by Bill Pemberton, but redone by me in order to handle some of the coding style issues better, by hand. * kyrofb: fix on x86_64Ondrej Zary2012-04-081-188/+188
| | | | | | | | | | kyrofb is completely broken on x86_64 because the registers are defined as unsigned long. Change them to u32 to make the driver work. Tested with Hercules 3D Prophet 4000XT. | | | | | | | | | | | This patch replaces <asm/uaccess.h> with <linux/uaccess.h> after the checkpatch.pl hint. The include of <asm/uaccess.h> is removed if the driver does not use it. * PCI: Change all drivers to use pci_device->revisionAuke Kok2007-07-121-3/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Instead of all drivers reading pci config space to get the revision ID, they can now use the pci_device->revision member. This exposes some issues where drivers where reading a word or a dword for the revision number, and adding useless error-handling around the read. Some drivers even just read it for no purpose of all. In devices where the revision ID is being copied over and used in what appears to be the equivalent of hotpath, I have left the copy code and the cached copy as not to influence the driver's performance. Compile tested with make all{yes,mod}config on x86_64 and i386. * [PATCH] remove many unneeded #includes of sched.hTim Schmielau2007-02-141-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | After Al Viro (finally) succeeded in removing the sched.h #include in module.h recently, it makes sense again to remove other superfluous sched.h includes. There are quite a lot of files which include it but don't actually need anything defined in there. Presumably these includes were once needed for macros that used to live in sched.h, but moved to other header files in the course of cleaning it up. To ease the pain, this time I did not fiddle with any header files and only removed #includes from .c-files, which tend to cause less trouble. Compile tested against 2.6.20-rc2 and 2.6.20-rc2-mm2 (with offsets) on alpha, arm, i386, ia64, mips, powerpc, and x86_64 with allnoconfig, defconfig, allmodconfig, and allyesconfig as well as a few randconfigs on x86_64 and all configs in arch/arm/configs on arm. I also checked that no new warnings were introduced by the patch (actually, some warnings are removed that were emitted by unnecessarily included header files). * [PATCH] vt: Remove VT-specific declarations and definitions from tty.hJon Smirl2006-07-101-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | MAX_NR_CONSOLES, fg_console, want_console and last_console are more of a function of the VT layer than the TTY one. Moving these to vt.h and vt_kern.h allows all of the framebuffer and VT console drivers to remove their dependency on tty.h. * [PATCH] drivers/video/: possible cleanupsAdrian Bunk2006-01-103-1/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch contains the possible cleanups including the following: - every file should #include the headers containing the prototypes for it's global functions - make needlessly global functions static - kyro/STG4000Interface.h: #include video/kyro.h and linux/pci.h instead of a manual "struct pci_dev" - i810_main.{c,h}: prototypes for static functions belong to the C file Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@stusta.de> Acked-by: "Antonino A. * [PATCH] fbcon/fbdev: Move softcursor out of fbdev to fbconAntonino A. Daplas2005-11-071-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | According to Jon Smirl, filling in the field fb_cursor with soft_cursor for drivers that do not support hardware cursors is redundant. The soft_cursor function is usable by all drivers because it is just a wrapper around fb_imageblit. And because soft_cursor is an fbcon-specific hook, the file is moved to the console directory. Thus, drivers that do not support hardware cursors can leave the fb_cursor field blank. For drivers that do, they can fill up this field with their own version. The end result is a smaller code size. And if the framebuffer console is not loaded, module/kernel size is also reduced because the soft_cursor module will also not be loaded. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
