* fbdev: change asm/uaccess.h to linux/uaccess.hKrzysztof Helt2007-10-161-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | This patch replaces <asm/uaccess.h> with <linux/uaccess.h> after the checkpatch.pl hint. The include of <asm/uaccess.h> is removed if the driver does not use it. * PCI: Change all drivers to use pci_device->revisionAuke Kok2007-07-121-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Instead of all drivers reading pci config space to get the revision ID, they can now use the pci_device->revision member. This exposes some issues where drivers where reading a word or a dword for the revision number, and adding useless error-handling around the read. Some drivers even just read it for no purpose of all. In devices where the revision ID is being copied over and used in what appears to be the equivalent of hotpath, I have left the copy code and the cached copy as not to influence the driver's performance. Compile tested with make all{yes,mod}config on x86_64 and i386. * [PATCH] sstfb: fix pixclock setting on Voodoo 1/2 cardsOndrej Zajicek2007-03-171-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | Pixclock setting in sstfb didn't work with my Voodoo 2 card with ICS 5342 DAC (this DAC requires two consecutive writes to one of its registers to program pixclock - maybe first write merged with second). * [PATCH] sstfb: add sysfs interfaceHelge Deller2006-12-131-230/+105
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Modify the sstfb (Voodoo1/2) driver: - fix a memleak when removing the sstfb module - fix sstfb to use the fbdev default videomode database - add module option "mode_option" to set initial screen mode - add sysfs-interface to turn VGA-passthrough on/off via /sys/class/graphics/fbX/vgapass - remove old debug functions from ioctl interface Signed-off-by: Helge Deller <deller@gmx.de> Acked-By: James Simmons <jsimmons@infradead.org> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
* [PATCH] sstfb: cleanupsAlan Cox2006-10-031-115/+55
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | - Remove 24/32bit unused support (the chips don't do 24/32bit anyway) - Clean up printk obfuscation - Clean up lispitus in the if(())()) stuff - Minor tidying No functionality changes, may have a crack at hardware scrolling based on my X driver once the cleanups are in. * [PATCH] drivers/video: Use ARRAY_SIZE macroTobias Klauser2006-03-271-5/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Use ARRAY_SIZE macro instead of sizeof(x)/sizeof(x[0]) and remove duplicates of ARRAY_SIZE. Some coding style and trailing whitespaces are also fixed. * [PATCH] fbdev: Sanitize ->fb_ioctl prototypeChristoph Hellwig2006-01-151-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | The ioctl and file arguments to ->fb_mmap are totally unused and there's not reason a driver should need them. * [PATCH] fbcon/fbdev: Move softcursor out of fbdev to fbconAntonino A. Daplas2005-11-071-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | According to Jon Smirl, filling in the field fb_cursor with soft_cursor for drivers that do not support hardware cursors is redundant. The soft_cursor function is usable by all drivers because it is just a wrapper around fb_imageblit. And because soft_cursor is an fbcon-specific hook, the file is moved to the console directory. Thus, drivers that do not support hardware cursors can leave the fb_cursor field blank. For drivers that do, they can fill up this field with their own version. The end result is a smaller code size. And if the framebuffer console is not loaded, module/kernel size is also reduced because the soft_cursor module will also not be loaded. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
