Pull MTD fixes from Brian Norris:
"Three main MTD fixes for 3.18:
- A regression from 3.16 which was noticed in 3.17. With the
restructuring of the m25p80.c driver and the SPI NOR library
framework, we omitted proper listing of the SPI device IDs. This
means m25p80.c wouldn't auto-load (modprobe) properly when built as
a module. For now, we duplicate the device IDs into both modules.
- The OMAP / ELM modules were depending on an implicit link ordering.
Use deferred probing so that the new link order (in 3.18-rc) can
still allow for successful probing.
- Fix suspend/resume support for LH28F640BF NOR flash"

After '#echo mem > /sys/power/state' some devices can not be properly resumed
because apparently the MTD Partition Configuration Register has been reset
to default thus the rootfs cannot be mounted cleanly on resume.
An example of this can be found in the SA-1100 Developer's Manual at 9.5.3.3
where the second step of the Sleep Shutdown Sequence is described:
"An internal reset is applied to the SA-1100. All units are reset...".
As workaround we refresh the PCR value as done initially on chip setup.
This behavior and the fix are confirmed by our tests done on 2 different Zaurus
collie units with kernel 3.17.

Since commit 6d178ef2fd5e ("mtd: nand: Move ELM driver and rename as
omap_elm"), I don't have any mtd devices present on my am335x. This
changes the link order of the omap_elm and omap2 objects, causing them
to probe in the wrong order.
To fix this, make elm_config defer probing until the omap_elm driver is
actually loaded.

m25p80's device ID table is now spi_nor_ids, defined in spi-nor. The
MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE() macro doesn't work with extern definitions, but
its use was also removed at the same time. Now if m25p80 is built as
a module it doesn't get the necessary aliases to be loaded
automatically.
A clean solution to this will involve defining the list of device
IDs in spi-nor.h and removing struct spi_device_id from the spi-nor
API, but this is quite a large change.
As a quick fix suitable for stable, copy the device IDs back into
m25p80.

drm: Handle legacy per-crtc locking with full acquire ctx
drm_mode_cursor_common() was switched to use drm_modeset_(un)lock_crtc()
which uses full aquire ctx. So dropping/reaquiring the lock via
drm_modeset_(un)lock() directly isn't the right thing to do, as lockdep
kindly points out.

Turning vdd on/off can generate a long hpd pulse on eDP ports. In order
to handle hpd we would need to turn on vdd to perform aux transfers.
This would lead to an endless cycle of
"vdd off -> long hpd -> vdd on -> detect -> vdd off -> ..."
So ignore long hpd pulses on eDP ports. eDP panels should be physically
tied to the machine anyway so they should not actually disappear and
thus don't need long hpd handling. Short hpds are still needed for link
re-train and whatnot so we can't just turn off the hpd interrupt
entirely for eDP ports. Perhaps we could turn it off whenever the panel
is disabled, but just ignoring the long hpd seems sufficient.

Sometimes we seem to get utter garbage from DPCD reads. The resulting
buffer is filled with the same byte, and the operation completed without
errors. My HP ZR24w monitor seems particularly susceptible to this
problem once it's gone into a sleep mode.
The issue seems to happen only for the first AUX message that wakes the
sink up. But as the first AUX read we often do is the DPCD receiver
cap it does wreak a bit of havoc with subsequent link training etc. when
the receiver cap bw/lane/etc. information is garbage.
A sufficient workaround seems to be to perform a single byte dummy read
before reading the actual data. I suppose that just wakes up the sink
sufficiently and we can just throw away the returned data in case it's

into drm-fixes
Three changes for the Armada DRM driver:
1. Add back the flags which tell the DRM core that we can do vblank. This
was removed in error during the recent restructuring, and came to light
while trying textured Xv rendering.
2. Fixing a refcount leak with Xv overlay.
3. As per recent discussion, the drm_vblank_pre_modeset() calls can cause
deadlock with other changes to generic code. This change prevents those
deadlocks by switching to the drm_crtc_vblank_*() calls instead.

A refcounting leak was found of the original frame buffer attached to
the CRTC when using the page_flip ioctl, resulting in the frame buffer
never being freed.
This was not obvious initially, as if the page flip subsequently
re-attaches the original frame buffer, the refcounts will be balanced.
However, if the original frame buffer is freed, then it will be leaked.
Fix this by ensuring that we take a reference on the incoming fb, but
rely on the queued work to drop that ref count.

Author: David Jeffery <djeffery@redhat.com>
Changes to the basic direct I/O code have broken the raw driver when reading
to the end of a raw device. Instead of returning a short read for a read that
extends partially beyond the device's end or 0 when at the end of the device,
these reads now return EIO.
The raw driver needs the same end of device handling as was added for normal
block devices. Using blkdev_read_iter, which has the needed size checks,
prevents the EIO conditions at the end of the device.

Since commit cd678fce4280 ("switch logger to ->write_iter()"), any
attempt to write to the log results in the log data being written over
its own metadata, thus rendering the log unreadable.
The problem was first detected when I ran an Android userspace on the
v3.18-rc1 kernel. However the issue can also be observed with a
non-Android userspace by using echo/cat to write to/from /dev/log_main .
This patch resolves the problem by using a temporary to track the status
of not-yet-committed writes to the log buffer.

As a follow-up to commit 6cab7a37f5c04 ("staging: comedi: (regression)
channel list must be set for COMEDI_CMD ioctl"), Hartley Sweeten pointed
out another couple of bugs stemming from commit 6cab7a37f5c04 ("staging:
comedi: comedi_fops: introduce __comedi_get_user_chanlist()").
Firstly, `do_cmdtest_ioctl()` never frees the kernel copy of the user
chanlist allocated by `__comedi_get_user_chanlist()`, so that memory is
leaked. Fix it by freeing the allocated kernel memory pointed to by
`cmd.chanlist` before that pointer is overwritten with its original
pointer to user memory before `cmd` is copied back to user-space.
Secondly, if `__comedi_get_user_chanlist()` returns an error,
`cmd->chanlist` is left unchanged and in fact will be a pointer to user
memory. This causes `do_cmd_ioctl()` to `goto cleanup` and call
`do_become_nonbusy()` which would attempt to free the memory pointed to
by the user-space pointer. Fix it by setting `cmd->chanlist` to NULL at
the start of `__comedi_get_user_chanlist()`.

For the `COMEDI_LOCK`, `COMEDI_UNLOCK`, `COMEDI_CANCEL`, and
`COMEDI_POLL` ioctls the third argument is a comedi subdevice number.
This is passed as an `unsigned long`, but when it is passed down to the
ioctl command-specific handler functions `do_lock_ioctl()`,
`do_unlock_ioctl()`, `do_cancel_ioctl()`, and `do_poll_ioctl()`, the
value has been narrowed to an `unsigned int`. Pass through the argument
as an `unsigned long` to avoid truncating the value on 64-bit
architectures.

In older versions of the IIO framework it was possible to pass a
completely different set of channels to iio_buffer_register() as the one
that is assigned to the IIO device. Commit 959d2952d124 ("staging:iio: make
iio_sw_buffer_preenable much more general.") introduced a restriction that
requires that the set of channels that is passed to iio_buffer_register() is
a subset of the channels assigned to the IIO device as the IIO core will use
the list of channels that is assigned to the device to lookup a channel by
scan index in iio_compute_scan_bytes(). If it can not find the channel the
function will crash. This patch fixes the issue by making sure that the same
set of channels is assigned to the IIO device and passed to
iio_buffer_register().
Fixes the follow NULL pointer derefernce kernel crash:
