Reluctantly. Most of it delayed a release. I'm still rather worried that we don't have a clear roadmap to completion for this work. * emailed from Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org>: (78 patches) kconfig: update compression algorithm info c/r: prctl: add ability to set new mm_struct::exe_file c/r: prctl: extend PR_SET_MM to set up more mm_struct entries c/r: procfs: add arg_start/end, env_start/end and exit_code members to /proc/$pid/stat syscalls, x86: add __NR_kcmp syscall fs, proc: introduce /proc/<pid>/task/<tid>/children entry sysctl: make kernel.ns_last_pid control dependent on CHECKPOINT_RESTORE aio/vfs: cleanup of rw_copy_check_uvector() and compat_rw_copy_check_uvector() eventfd: change int to __u64 in eventfd_signal() fs/nls: add Apple NLS pidns: make killed children autoreap pidns: use task_active_pid_ns in do_notify_parent rapidio/tsi721: add DMA engine support rapidio: add DMA engine support for RIO data transfers ipc/mqueue: add rbtree node caching support tools/selftests: add mq_perf_tests ipc/mqueue: strengthen checks on mqueue creation ipc/mqueue: correct mq_attr_ok test ipc/mqueue: improve performance of send/recv selftests: add mq_open_tests ...

| * rapidio: add DMA engine support for RIO data transfersAlexandre Bounine2012-06-012-0/+95
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Adds DMA Engine framework support into RapidIO subsystem. Uses DMA Engine DMA_SLAVE interface to generate data transfers to/from remote RapidIO target devices. Introduces RapidIO-specific wrapper for prep_slave_sg() interface with an extra parameter to pass target specific information. Uses scatterlist to describe local data buffer. Address flat data buffer on a remote side. | * drivers/message/fusion: use pci_dev->revisionSergei Shtylyov2012-06-012-11/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This driver uses PCI_CLASS_REVISION instead of PCI_REVISION_ID, so it wasn't converted by 44c10138fd4bbc ("PCI: Change all drivers to use pci_device->revision"). In one case, it even reads PCI revision ID without using it -- that code is now removed... | * | | max17042_battery: Add support for max17047/50 chipRamakrishna Pallala2012-05-062-13/+61
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | max17047 is improved version of max17042 chip. It has few HW bug fixes with minor changes in register set. max17050 is same as max17047 chip except its silicon packging. So from driver's point of view there is no difference btw max1047 and max1050. This patch adds the support to dynamically detect the chip type and adds steps to initialize the max17047 chip. It can be > 100 % and drops below 100 % for a fully charged battery with the battery aging. This is not what the user exspects of a remaining capacity indication between 0 and 100 % with 100 % referring to a fully charged battery. This is provided by SBS reg 0x0d, which is the relative state of charge referring to the full charge capacity. | * | | smb347-charger: Convert to regmap APIMika Westerberg2012-05-052-327/+232
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The smb347-charger driver does a lot of read-modify-write to the device registers. Instead of open-coding everything we can take advantage of regmap API which provides nice functions to do this kind of things. In addition there is no need for custom debugfs file for dumping registers as this is already provided by the regmap API. | * | | smb347-charger: Move IRQ enabling to the end of probeMika Westerberg2012-05-051-4/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | There is a potential problem if we call smb347_irq_enable() from smb347_irq_init() because smb347_irq_enable() makes the device registers read-only once it returns and smb347_irq_init() expects them to still be read-write. Currently no harm happens because it is the last call we make in smb347_irq_init(). Anyway a better place for enabling IRQs is at the end of probe function and this is also symmetric to call smb347_irq_disable() which is done at the beginning of remove function. "table_size" should be the number of elements, but we should allocate it with kcalloc() so that we allocate the correct number of bytes. In max17042_init_model() we don't allocate enough space so we go past the end of the array in max17042_read_model_data() and max17042_model_data_compare(). In max17042_verify_model_lock() we allocate the right amount of space but we call max17042_read_model_data() with the wrong number of elements and also in the for loop we go past the end of the array. Wysocki <rjw@sisk.pl> Date: Sun Apr 12 20:06:56 2009 +0200 PM/Hibernate: Wait for SCSI devices scan to complete during resume Broke the scsi_wait_scan module in 2.6.30. Apparently debian still uses it so fix it and backport to stable before removing it in 3.6. The breakage is caused because the function template in include/scsi/scsi_scan.h is defined to be a nop unless SCSI is built in. That means that in the modular case (which is every distro), the scsi_wait_scan module does a simple async_synchronize_full() instead of waiting for scans. The bug was added in the patches for the 3.5 feature window. As you can see from the patch I made a mistake. During development I switched from passing a struct to the size of the struct, but left the sizeof. This results in us allocating 4 bytes (sizeof(int)) but then calling pci_free_consistent with the size of the struct. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch has the SW FCoE driver and the bnx2fc driver make use of the new fcoe_sysfs API added earlier in this patch series. After this patch a fcoe_ctlr_device is allocated with private data in this order. +------------------+ +------------------+ | fcoe_ctlr_device | | fcoe_ctlr_device | +------------------+ +------------------+ | fcoe_ctlr | | fcoe_ctlr | +------------------+ +------------------+ | fcoe_interface | | bnx2fc_interface | +------------------+ +------------------+ libfcoe also takes part in this new model since it discovers and manages fcoe_fcf instances. The memory allocation is different for FCFs. I didn't want to impact libfcoe's fcoe_fcf processing, so this patch creates fcoe_fcf_device instances for each discovered fcoe_fcf. The two are paired using a (void * priv) member of the fcoe_ctlr_device. This allows libfcoe to continue maintaining its list of fcoe_fcf instances and simply attaches and detaches them from existing or new fcoe_fcf_device instances.
