This bug introduced by commit b261dba2fdb2 ("arm64: kdump: Remove custom
linux,usable-memory-range handling"), which moves
memblock_cap_memory_range() to fdt, but it breaches the rules that
memblock_cap_memory_range() should come after memblock_add() etc as said
in commit e888fa7bb882 ("memblock: Check memory add/cap ordering").
As a consequence, the virtual address set up by copy_oldmem_page() does
not bail out from the test of virt_addr_valid() in check_heap_object(),
and finally hits the BUG_ON().
Since memblock allocator has no idea about when the memblock is fully
populated, while efi_init() is aware, so tackling this issue by calling the
interface early_init_dt_check_for_usable_mem_range() exposed by of/fdt.

Currently, we parse the "linux,usable-memory-range" property in
early_init_dt_scan_chosen(), to obtain the specified memory range of the
crash kernel. We then reserve the required memory after
early_init_dt_scan_memory() has identified all available physical memory.
Because the two pieces of code are separated far, the readability and
maintainability are reduced. So bring them together.

Since commit 041284181226 ("of/irq: Allow matching of an interrupt-map
local to an interrupt controller"), a handful of interrupt controllers
have stopped working correctly. This is due to the DT exposing a
non-sensical interrupt-map property, and their drivers relying on the
kernel ignoring this property.
Since we cannot realistically fix this terrible behaviour, add a quirk
for the limited set of devices that have implemented this monster,
and document that this is a pretty bad practice.

In commit 8a5a75e5e9e5 ("of/fdt: Make sure no-map does not remove
already reserved regions") we returned -EBUSY when trying to mark
regions as no-map when they intersect with reserved memory. The goal was
to find bad no-map reserved memory DT nodes that would unmap the kernel
text/data sections.
The problem is the reserved memory check will still trigger if the DT
has a /memreserve/ that completely subsumes the no-map memory carveouts
in the reserved memory node _and_ that region is also not part of the
memory reg property. For example in sc7180.dtsi we have the following
reserved-memory and memory node:
memory@80000000 {
/* We expect the bootloader to fill in the size */
reg = <0 0x80000000 0 0>;
};
smem_mem: memory@80900000 {
reg = <0x0 0x80900000 0x0 0x200000>;
no-map;
};
and the memreserve filled in by the bootloader is
/memreserve/ 0x80800000 0x400000;
while the /memory node is transformed into
memory@80000000 {
/* The bootloader fills in the size, and adds another region */
reg = <0 0x80000000 0 0x00800000>,
<0 0x80c00000 0 0x7f200000>;
};
The smem region is doubly reserved via /memreserve/ and by not being
part of the /memory reg property. This leads to the following warning
printed at boot.
OF: fdt: Reserved memory: failed to reserve memory for node 'memory@80900000': base 0x0000000080900000, size 2 MiB
Otherwise nothing really goes wrong because the smem region is not going
to be mapped by the kernel's direct linear mapping given that it isn't
part of the memory node. Therefore, let's only consider this to be a
problem if we're trying to mark a region as no-map and it is actually
memory that we're intending to keep out of the kernel's direct mapping
but it's already been reserved.

The cells_name field of of_phandle_iterator might be NULL. Use the
phandle name instead. With this change instead of:
OF: /soc/pinctrl@1000000: (null) = 3 found 2
We get:
OF: /soc/pinctrl@1000000: phandle pinctrl@1000000 needs 3, found 2
Which is a more helpful messages making DT debugging easier.
In this particular example the phandle name looks like duplicate of the
same node name. But note that the first node is the parent node
(it->parent), while the second is the phandle target (it->node). They
happen to be the same in the case that triggered this improvement. See
commit 72cb4c48a46a ("arm64: dts: qcom: ipq6018: Fix gpio-ranges

Some overlays are tracked when they are applied. The tracked overlays
are later removed after the overlay tests are completed. The old
implementation makes assumptions about the expected values for
overlay changeset id created by the overlay apply which result
in fragile code. The new code removes the assumptions.
A symptom that exposes a problem with the tracking code is a
warning "UBSAN: shift-out-of-bounds in drivers/of/unittest.c:1933:36",
Kernel Version: 5.15-rc7, PPC-64, Talos II. This results from variable
"id" value of -1 in the final line of of_unittest_untrack_overlay().

Allow fully disabling CPU nodes using status = "fail".
This allows a bootloader to change the number of available CPUs (for
example when a common DTS is used for SoC variants with different numbers
of cores) without deleting the nodes altogether, which could require
additional fixups to avoid dangling phandle references.
Unknown status values (everything that is not "okay"/"ok", "disabled" or
"fail"/"fail-...") will continue to be interpreted like "disabled",
meaning that the CPU can be enabled during boot.

In the struct supplier_bindings the member 'node_not_dev' is described as
"The consumer node containing the property is never a device.", but that is
inconsistent with the behaviour of the code in of_link_property(), as it
calls of_get_compat_node() that starts parsing for a compatible property
from the node it gets passed to it. The proper behaviour is to start at the
node's parent, so let's do that.
While at it, let's take the opportunity to update the description of the

Commit 2d3de197a818 ("ARM: dts: arm: Update ICST clock nodes 'reg' and

Commit 25b892b583cc ("ARM: dts: arm: Update register-bit-led nodes
'reg' and node names") added a 'reg' property to nodes. This change has
the side effect of changing how the kernel generates the device name.
The assumption was a translatable 'reg' address is unique. However, in
the case of the register-bit-led binding (and a few others) that is not
the case. The 'mask' property must also be used in this case to make a
unique device name.

Pull irq fixes from Thomas Gleixner:
"A set of fixes for the interrupt subsystem
Core code:
- A regression fix for the Open Firmware interrupt mapping code where
a interrupt controller property in a node caused a map property in
the same node to be ignored.
Interrupt chip drivers:
- Workaround a limitation in SiFive PLIC interrupt chip which
silently ignores an EOI when the interrupt line is masked.
- Provide the missing mask/unmask implementation for the CSKY MP
interrupt controller.
PCI/MSI:
- Prevent a use after free when PCI/MSI interrupts are released by
destroying the sysfs entries before freeing the memory which is
accessed in the sysfs show() function.
- Implement a mask quirk for the Nvidia ION AHCI chip which does not
advertise masking capability despite implementing it. Even worse
the chip comes out of reset with all MSI entries masked, which due
to the missing masking capability never get unmasked.
- Move the check which prevents accessing the MSI[X] masking for XEN
back into the low level accessors. The recent consolidation missed
that these accessors can be invoked from places which do not have
that check which broke XEN. Move them back to he original place
instead of sprinkling tons of these checks all over the code"

Since 041284181226 ("of/irq: Allow matching of an interrupt-map local
to an interrupt controller"), the irq code favors using an interrupt-map
over a interrupt-controller property if both are available, while the
earlier behaviour was to ignore the interrupt-map altogether.
However, we now end-up with the opposite behaviour, which is to
ignore the interrupt-controller property even if the interrupt-map
fails to match its input. This new behaviour breaks the AmigaOne
X1000 machine, which ships with an extremely "creative" (read:
broken) device tree.
Fix this by allowing the interrupt-controller property to be selected
when interrupt-map fails to match anything.

When using "devm_request_threaded_irq(,,,,IRQF_ONESHOT,,)" in a driver,
only the first interrupt is handled, and following interrupts are never
delivered (initially reported in [1]).
That's because the RISC-V PLIC cannot EOI masked interrupts, as explained
in the description of Interrupt Completion in the PLIC spec [2]:
<quote>
The PLIC signals it has completed executing an interrupt handler by
writing the interrupt ID it received from the claim to the claim/complete
register. The PLIC does not check whether the completion ID is the same
as the last claim ID for that target. If the completion ID does not match
an interrupt source that *is currently enabled* for the target, the
completion is silently ignored.
</quote>
Re-enable the interrupt before completion if it has been masked during
the handling, and remask it afterwards.

The recent rework of PCI/MSI[X] masking moved the non-mask checks from the
low level accessors into the higher level mask/unmask functions.
This missed the fact that these accessors can be invoked from other places
as well. The missing checks break XEN-PV which sets pci_msi_ignore_mask and
also violates the virtual MSIX and the msi_attrib.maskbit protections.
Instead of sprinkling checks all over the place, lift them back into the
low level accessor functions. To avoid checking three different conditions
combine them into one property of msi_desc::msi_attrib.

The initial virtio-mem spec states that while unplugged memory should not
be read, the device still has to allow for reading unplugged memory inside
the usable region. The primary motivation for this default handling was
to simplify bringup of virtio-mem, because there were corner cases where
Linux might have accidentially read unplugged memory inside added Linux
memory blocks.
In the meantime, we:
1. Removed /dev/kmem in commit bbcd53c96071 ("drivers/char: remove
/dev/kmem for good")
2. Disallowed access to virtio-mem device memory via /dev/mem in
commit 2128f4e21aa2 ("virtio-mem: disallow mapping virtio-mem memory via
/dev/mem")
3. Sanitized access to virtio-mem device memory via /proc/kcore in
commit 0daa322b8ff9 ("fs/proc/kcore: don't read offline sections,
logically offline pages and hwpoisoned pages")
4. Sanitized access to virtio-mem device memory via /proc/vmcore in
commit ce2814622e84 ("virtio-mem: kdump mode to sanitize /proc/vmcore
access")
"Accidential" access to unplugged memory is no longer possible; we can
support the new VIRTIO_MEM_F_UNPLUGGED_INACCESSIBLE feature that will be
required by some hypervisors implementing virtio-mem in the near future.

The gcc_aggre1_pnoc_ahb_clk is crucial for the proper MSM8996/APQ8096
functioning. If it gets disabled, several subsytems will stop working
(including eMMC/SDCC and USB). There are no in-kernel users of this
clock, so it is much simpler to remove from the kernel.
The clock was first removed in the commit 9e60de1cf270 ("clk: qcom:
Remove gcc_aggre1_pnoc_ahb_clk from msm8996") by Stephen Boyd, but got
added back in the commit b567752144e3 ("clk: qcom: Add some missing gcc
clks for msm8996") by Rajendra Nayak.
Let's remove it again in hope that nobody adds it back.

Both of these drivers were converted to real drivers and got a tristate

should be build-in - as the name suggests.

This reverts commit 1da80da028fe5accb866c0d6899a292ed86bef45.
Reading recent discussions [0] [1], I realized this change introduces
a number of problems:
- only converting to module_platform_driver creates the issue
with the existing __init and __initdata attributes.
When the driver would've been built as a module, all the missing
clock-definitions (all are initdata) should've turned up as error
in testing suggesting that the change wasn't at all
- a clock driver is a very core component of soc bringup and making
this able to be built as a module solely for enabling the soc vendor
to add out of tree changes for Android implementations is not in our
interest and also everything except a ramdisk won't probe without a
clock controller.
This is especially true when the changes aren't really tested and
are merely added to move the mainline driver "out of the way".
