* nfs: convert use of typedef ctl_table to struct ctl_tableJoe Perches2014-06-071-3/+3
| | | | | | | | This typedef is unnecessary and should just be removed. Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
* NFS: Initialize v4 sysctls from nfs_init_v4()Bryan Schumaker2012-07-171-26/+0
| | | | | | | And split them out of the generic client into their own file. Signed-off-by: Bryan Schumaker <bjschuma@netapp.com> Signed-off-by: Trond Myklebust <Trond.Myklebust@netapp.com>
* NFS: Fall back on old idmapper if request_key() failsBryan Schumaker2012-02-071-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | This patch removes the CONFIG_NFS_USE_NEW_IDMAPPER compile option. First, the idmapper will attempt to map the id using /sbin/request-key and nfsidmap. If this fails (if /etc/request-key.conf is not configured properly) then the idmapper will call the legacy code to perform the mapping. I left a comment stating where the legacy code begins to make it easier for somebody to remove in the future. * NFS: new idmapperBryan Schumaker2010-10-081-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch creates a new idmapper system that uses the request-key function to place a call into userspace to map user and group ids to names. The old idmapper was single threaded, which prevented more than one request from running at a single time. This means that a user would have to wait for an upcall to finish before accessing a cached result. The upcall result is stored on a keyring of type id_resolver. See the file Documentation/filesystems/nfs/idmapper.txt for instructions. * NFS: Avoid warnings when CONFIG_NFS_V4=nDavid Howells2010-01-261-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Avoid the following warnings when CONFIG_NFS_V4=n: fs/nfs/sysctl.c:19: warning: unused variable `nfs_set_port_max' fs/nfs/sysctl.c:18: warning: unused variable `nfs_set_port_min' by making those variables contingent on NFSv4 being configured. * sysctl: Drop & in front of every proc_handler.Eric W. Biederman2009-11-181-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | For consistency drop & in front of every proc_handler. Explicity taking the address is unnecessary and it prevents optimizations like stubbing the proc_handlers to NULL. * sysctl fs: Remove dead binary sysctl supportEric W. Biederman2009-11-121-11/+3
| | | | | | | | Now that sys_sysctl is a generic wrapper around /proc/sys .ctl_name and .strategy members of sysctl tables are dead code. Remove them. Cc: Jan Harkes <jaharkes@cs.cmu.edu> Signed-off-by: Eric W. Biederman <ebiederm@xmission.com>
* [PATCH] nfs: fix congestion controlPeter Zijlstra2007-03-171-0/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The current NFS client congestion logic is severly broken, it marks the backing device congested during each nfs_writepages() call but doesn't mirror this in nfs_writepage() which makes for deadlocks. Also it implements its own waitqueue. Replace this by a more regular congestion implementation that puts a cap on the number of active writeback pages and uses the bdi congestion waitqueue. Also always use an interruptible wait since it makes sense to be able to SIGKILL the process even for mounts without 'intr'. * [PATCH] sysctl: remove insert_at_head from register_sysctlEric W. Biederman2007-02-141-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The semantic effect of insert_at_head is that it would allow new registered sysctl entries to override existing sysctl entries of the same name. Which is pain for caching and the proc interface never implemented. I have done an audit and discovered that none of the current users of register_sysctl care as (excpet for directories) they do not register duplicate sysctl entries. So this patch simply removes the support for overriding existing entries in the sys_sysctl interface since no one uses it or cares and it makes future enhancments harder. Signed-off-by: Eric W. * [PATCH] sysctl: implement CTL_UNNUMBEREDEric W. Biederman2006-11-061-5/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch takes the CTL_UNNUMBERD concept from NFS and makes it available to all new sysctl users.
