In the ocfs2 disk layout, slot number is 16 bits, but in ocfs2
implementation, slot number is 32 bits. Usually this will not cause any
issue, because slot number is converted from u16 to u32, but
OCFS2_INVALID_SLOT was defined as -1, when an invalid slot number from
disk was obtained, its value was (u16)-1, and it was converted to u32.
Then the following checking in get_local_system_inode will be always
skipped:
static struct inode **get_local_system_inode(struct ocfs2_super *osb,
int type,
u32 slot)
{
BUG_ON(slot == OCFS2_INVALID_SLOT);
...
}

The following kernel panic was captured when running nfs server over
ocfs2, at that time ocfs2_test_inode_bit() was checking whether one
inode locating at "blkno" 5 was valid, that is ocfs2 root inode, its
"suballoc_slot" was OCFS2_INVALID_SLOT(65535) and it was allocted from
//global_inode_alloc, but here it wrongly assumed that it was got from per
slot inode alloctor which would cause array overflow and trigger kernel
panic.

Set global_inode_alloc as OCFS2_FIRST_ONLINE_SYSTEM_INODE, that will
make it load during mount. It can be used to test whether some
global/system inodes are valid. One use case is that nfsd will test
whether root inode is valid.

Patch series "ocfs2: fix nfsd over ocfs2 issues", v2.
This is a series of patches to fix issues on nfsd over ocfs2. patch 1
is to avoid inode removed while nfsd access it patch 2 & 3 is to fix a
panic issue.
This patch (of 4):
When nfsd is getting file dentry using handle or parent dentry of some
dentry, one cluster lock is used to avoid inode removed from other node,
but it still could be removed from local node, so use a rw lock to avoid
this.

After commit 12abc5ee7873 ("tcp: add tcp_sock_set_nodelay") and commit
c488aeadcbd0 ("tcp: add tcp_sock_set_user_timeout"), building the kernel
with OCFS2_FS=y but without INET=y causes it to fail with:
ld: fs/ocfs2/cluster/tcp.o: in function `o2net_accept_many':
tcp.c:(.text+0x21b1): undefined reference to `tcp_sock_set_nodelay'
ld: tcp.c:(.text+0x21c1): undefined reference to `tcp_sock_set_user_timeout'
ld: fs/ocfs2/cluster/tcp.o: in function `o2net_start_connect':
tcp.c:(.text+0x2633): undefined reference to `tcp_sock_set_nodelay'
ld: tcp.c:(.text+0x2643): undefined reference to `tcp_sock_set_user_timeout'
This is due to tcp_sock_set_nodelay() and tcp_sock_set_user_timeout()
being declared in linux/tcp.h and defined in net/ipv4/tcp.c, which
depend on TCP/IP being enabled.
To fix this, make OCFS2_FS depend on INET=y which already requires
NET=y.

"A lot of bug fixes and cleanups for ext4, including:
- Fix performance problems found in dioread_nolock now that it is the
default, caused by transaction leaks.
- Clean up fiemap handling in ext4
- Clean up and refactor multiple block allocator (mballoc) code
- Fix a problem with mballoc with a smaller file systems running out
of blocks because they couldn't properly use blocks that had been
reserved by inode preallocation.
- Fixed a race in ext4_sync_parent() versus rename()
- Simplify the error handling in the extent manipulation code
- Make sure all metadata I/O errors are felected to
ext4_ext_dirty()'s and ext4_make_inode_dirty()'s callers.
- Avoid passing an error pointer to brelse in ext4_xattr_set()
- Fix race which could result to freeing an inode on the dirty last
in data=journal mode.
- Fix refcount handling if ext4_iget() fails
- Fix a crash in generic/019 caused by a corrupted extent node"

By moving FIEMAP_FLAG_SYNC handling to fiemap_prep we ensure it is
handled once instead of duplicated, but can still be done under fs locks,
like xfs/iomap intended with its duplicate handling. Also make sure the
error value of filemap_write_and_wait is propagated to user space.

Replace fiemap_check_flags with a fiemap_prep helper that also takes the
inode and mapped range, and performs the sanity check and truncation
previously done in fiemap_check_range. This way the validation is inside
the file system itself and thus properly works for the stacked overlayfs
case as well.

Usually we create and use a ocfs2 shared volume on the top of ha stack.
For pcmk based ha stack, which includes DLM, corosync and pacemaker
services.
The customers complained they could not mount existent ocfs2 volume in
the single node without ha stack, e.g. single node backup/restore
scenario.
Like this case, the customers just want to access the data from the
existent ocfs2 volume quickly, but do not want to restart or setup ha
stack.
Then, I'd like to add a mount option "nocluster", if the users use this
option to mount a ocfs2 shared volume, the whole mount will not depend
on the ha related services. the command will mount the existent ocfs2
volume directly (like local mount), for avoiding setup the ha stack.

Linux fallocate(2) with FALLOC_FL_PUNCH_HOLE mode set, its offset can
exceed the inode size. Ocfs2 now doesn't allow that offset beyond inode
size. This restriction is not necessary and violates fallocate(2)
semantics.
If fallocate(2) offset is beyond inode size, just return success and do
nothing further.
Otherwise, ocfs2 will crash the kernel.

an error occurs
Under some conditions, the directory cannot be deleted. The specific
scenarios are as follows: (for example, /mnt/ocfs2 is the mount point)
1. Create the /mnt/ocfs2/p_dir directory. At this time, the i_nlink
corresponding to the inode of the /mnt/ocfs2/p_dir directory is equal
to 2.
2. During the process of creating the /mnt/ocfs2/p_dir/s_dir
directory, if the call to the inc_nlink function in ocfs2_mknod
succeeds, the functions such as ocfs2_init_acl,
ocfs2_init_security_set, and ocfs2_dentry_attach_lock fail. At this
time, the i_nlink corresponding to the inode of the /mnt/ocfs2/p_dir
directory is equal to 3, but /mnt/ocfs2/p_dir/s_dir is not added to the
/mnt/ocfs2/p_dir directory entry.
3. Delete the /mnt/ocfs2/p_dir directory (rm -rf /mnt/ocfs2/p_dir).
At this time, it is found that the i_nlink corresponding to the inode
corresponding to the /mnt/ocfs2/p_dir directory is equal to 3.
Therefore, the /mnt/ocfs2/p_dir directory cannot be deleted.

The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language extension
to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare
variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2],
introduced in C99:
struct foo {
int stuff;
struct boo array[];
};
By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning in
case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which will
help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being
inadvertently introduced[3] to the codebase from now on.
Also, notice that, dynamic memory allocations won't be affected by this
change:
"Flexible array members have incomplete type, and so the sizeof operator
may not be applied. As a quirk of the original implementation of
zero-length arrays, sizeof evaluates to zero."[1]

The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language extension
to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare
variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2],
introduced in C99:
struct foo {
int stuff;
struct boo array[];
};
This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle.

'PTR_ERR(p) == -E*' is a stronger condition than IS_ERR(p).
Hence, IS_ERR(p) is unneeded.
The semantic patch that generates this commit is as follows:

expression ptr;
constant error_code;
@@
-IS_ERR(ptr) && (PTR_ERR(ptr) == - error_code)
+PTR_ERR(ptr) == - error_code

Writing a cloned file triggers a kernel oops and the user-space command
process is also killed by the system. The bug can be reproduced stably
via:
1) create a file under ocfs2 file system directory.
journalctl -b > aa.txt
2) create a cloned file for this file.
reflink aa.txt bb.txt
3) write the cloned file with dd command.
dd if=/dev/zero of=bb.txt bs=512 count=1 conv=notrunc
The dd command is killed by the kernel, then you can see the oops message
via dmesg command.

There are users already and will be more of BITS_TO_BYTES() macro. Move
it to bitops.h for wider use.
In the case of ocfs2 the replacement is identical.
As for bnx2x, there are two places where floor version is used. In the
first case to calculate the amount of structures that can fit one memory
page. In this case obviously the ceiling variant is correct and
original code might have a potential bug, if amount of bits % 8 is not
0. In the second case the macro is used to calculate bytes transmitted
in one microsecond. This will work for all speeds which is multiply of
1Gbps without any change, for the rest new code will give ceiling value,
for instance 100Mbps will give 13 bytes, while old code gives 12 bytes
and the arithmetically correct one is 12.5 bytes. Further the value is
used to setup timer threshold which in any case has its own margins due
to certain resolution. I don't see here an issue with slightly shifting
thresholds for low speed connections, the card is supposed to utilize
highest available rate, which is usually 10Gbps.

The variable ret is being initialized with a value that is never read
and it is being updated later with a new value. The initialization is
redundant and can be removed.

Gang He reports the failure of building fs/ocfs2/ as an external module
of the kernel installed on the system:
$ cd fs/ocfs2
$ make -C /lib/modules/`uname -r`/build M=`pwd` modules
If you want to make it work reliably, I'd recommend to remove ccflags-y
from the Makefiles, and to make header paths relative to the C files. I
think this is the correct usage of the #include "..." directive.

In the only caller of dlm_migrate_lockres() - dlm_empty_lockres(),
target is checked for O2NM_MAX_NODES. Thus, the assertion in
dlm_migrate_lockres() is unnecessary and can be removed. The patch
eliminates such a check.
