* aout: remove unnecessary inclusions of {asm, linux}/a.out.hDavid Howells2008-02-082-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | Remove now unnecessary inclusions of {asm,linux}/a.out.h. * aout: suppress A.OUT library support if !CONFIG_ARCH_SUPPORTS_AOUTDavid Howells2008-02-081-0/+31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Suppress A.OUT library support if CONFIG_ARCH_SUPPORTS_AOUT is not set. Not all architectures support the A.OUT binfmt, so the ELF binfmt should not be permitted to go looking for A.OUT libraries to load in such a case. Not only that, but under such conditions A.OUT core dumps are not produced either. To make this work, this patch also does the following: (1) Makes the existence of the contents of linux/a.out.h contingent on CONFIG_ARCH_SUPPORTS_AOUT. (2) Renames dump_thread() to aout_dump_thread() as it's only called by A.OUT core dumping code. (3) Moves aout_dump_thread() into asm/a.out-core.h and makes it inline. This is then included only where needed. This means that this bit of arch code will be stored in the appropriate A.OUT binfmt module rather than the core kernel. (4) Drops A.OUT support for Blackfin (according to Mike Frysinger it's not needed) and FRV. This patch depends on the previous patch to move STACK_TOP[_MAX] out of asm/a.out.h and into asm/processor.h as they're required whether or not A.OUT format is available. * | Add cmpxchg_local to sparc64Mathieu Desnoyers2008-02-071-0/+29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Use cmpxchg_u32 and cmpxchg_u64 for cmpxchg_local and cmpxchg64_local. For other type sizes, use the new generic cmpxchg_local (disables interrupt). Change: Since the header depends on local_irqsave/local_irqrestore, it must be included after their declaration. Actually, being below the #include <linux/irqflags.h> should be enough, and on sparc64 it is included at the beginning of system.h. So it makes sense to move it up for sparc64. * [SPARC64]: Fix two kernel linear mapping setup bugs.David S. Miller2007-12-131-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This was caught and identified by Greg Onufer. Since we setup the 256M/4M bitmap table after taking over the trap table, it's possible for some 4M mapping to get loaded in the TLB beforhand which later will be 256M mappings. This can cause illegal TLB multiple-match conditions. Fix this by setting up the bitmap before we take over the trap table. Next, __flush_tlb_all() was not doing anything on hypervisor platforms. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Change the page member of the scatterlist structure to be an unsigned long, and encode more stuff in the lower bits: - Bits 0 and 1 zero: this is a normal sg entry. Next sg entry is located at sg + 1. - Bit 0 set: this is a chain entry, the next real entry is at ->page_link with the two low bits masked off. - Bit 1 set: this is the final entry in the sg entry. sg_next() will return NULL when passed such an entry. It's thus important that sg table users use the proper accessors to get and set the page member. Signed-off-by: Jens Axboe <jens.axboe@oracle.com>

* | kprobes: support kretprobe blacklistMasami Hiramatsu2007-10-161-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Introduce architecture dependent kretprobe blacklists to prohibit users from inserting return probes on the function in which kprobes can be inserted but kretprobes can not. This patch also removes "__kprobes" mark from "__switch_to" on x86_64 and registers "__switch_to" to the blacklist on x86-64, because that mark is to prohibit user from inserting only kretprobe. * | x86: optimize page faults like all other achitectures and kill notifier cruftChristoph Hellwig2007-10-162-19/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | x86(-64) are the last architectures still using the page fault notifier cruft for the kprobes page fault hook. This patch converts them to the proper direct calls, and removes the now unused pagefault notifier bits aswell as the cruft in kprobes.c that was related to this mess. I know Andi didn't really like this, but all other architecture maintainers agreed the direct calls are much better and besides the obvious cruft removal a common way of dealing with kprobes across architectures is important aswell. * | Convert cpu_sibling_map to be a per cpu variableMike Travis2007-10-162-2/+3
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Convert cpu_sibling_map from a static array sized by NR_CPUS to a per_cpu variable. This saves sizeof(cpumask_t) * NR unused cpus.
