* include/net/: Fix FSF address in file headersJeff Kirsher2013-12-0613-39/+13
| | | | | | | | | | Several files refer to an old address for the Free Software Foundation in the file header comment. Resolve by replacing the address with the URL <http://www.gnu.org/licenses/> so that we do not have to keep updating the header comments anytime the address changes. * irda: update comment mentioning IRQF_DISABLEDMichael Opdenacker2013-10-171-1/+1
| | | | | | | | This patch removes a comment mentioning IRQF_DISABLED, which is deprecated. Signed-off-by: Michael Opdenacker <michael.opdenacker@free-electrons.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* irda: Remove extern from function prototypesJoe Perches2013-09-234-21/+20
| | | | | | | | | | | | | There are a mix of function prototypes with and without extern in the kernel sources. Standardize on not using extern for function prototypes. Function prototypes don't need to be written with extern. extern is assumed by the compiler. Its use is as unnecessary as using auto to declare automatic/local variables in a block. * include: Convert ethernet mac address declarations to use ETH_ALENJoe Perches2013-08-021-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | It's convenient to have ethernet mac addresses use ETH_ALEN to be able to grep for them a bit easier and also to ensure that the addresses are __aligned(2). Add #include <linux/if_ether.h> as necessary. Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Acked-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <m.chehab@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* irda: small read past the end of array in debug codeDan Carpenter2013-04-191-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The "reason" can come from skb->data[] and it hasn't been capped so it can be from 0-255 instead of just 0-6. For example in irlmp_state_dtr() the code does: reason = skb->data[3]; ... irlmp_disconnect_indication(self, reason, skb); Also LMREASON has a couple other values which don't have entries in the irlmp_reasons[] array. And 0xff is a valid reason as well which means "unknown". So far as I can see we don't actually care about "reason" except for in the debug code. | | | | | | | Some comments misspell "registered"; this fixes them. No code changes. Signed-off-by: Adam Buchbinder <adam.buchbinder@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Jiri Kosina <jkosina@suse.cz>
* TTY: ircomm, use tty from tty_portJiri Slaby2012-06-131-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | This also includes a switch to tty refcounting. It makes sure, the code no longer can access a freed TTY struct. Sometimes the only thing needed is to pass tty down to the callies. * TTY: ircomm, revamp lockingJiri Slaby2012-06-131-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Use self->spinlock only for ctrl_skb and tx_skb. TTY stuff is now protected by tty_port->lock. This is needed for further cleanup (and conversion to tty_port helpers). This also closes the race in the end of close. * TTY: ircomm, use flags from tty_portJiri Slaby2012-06-131-6/+0
| | | | | | | | | | Switch to tty_port->flags. And while at it, remove redefined flags for them. Signed-off-by: Jiri Slaby <jslaby@suse.cz> Cc: Samuel Ortiz <samuel@sortiz.org> Cc: netdev@vger.kernel.org Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

* tty: now phase out the ioctl file pointer for goodAlan Cox2011-02-171-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | Only oddities here are a couple of drivers that bogusly called the ldisc helpers instead of returning -ENOIOCTLCMD. Fix the bug and the rest goes away. Signed-off-by: Alan Cox <alan@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
* tiocmset: kill the file pointer argumentAlan Cox2011-02-171-1/+1
| | | | | | | | Doing tiocmget was such fun we should do tiocmset as well for the same reasons Signed-off-by: Alan Cox <alan@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
* tiocmget: kill off the passing of the struct fileAlan Cox2011-02-171-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | We don't actually need this and it causes problems for internal use of this functionality. Currently there is a single use of the FILE * pointer. That is the serial core which uses it to check tty_hung_up_p. However if that is true then IO_ERROR is also already set so the check may be removed. * irda: use net_device_stats from struct net_deviceEric Dumazet2010-08-221-1/+0
| | | | | | | | struct net_device has its own struct net_device_stats member, so use this one instead of a private copy in the irlan_cb struct. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <eric.dumazet@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* irda: Use __packed annotation instead IRDA_PACKED macroGustavo F. Padovan2010-07-212-13/+9
| | | | | | | | | Remove IRDA_PACKED macro, which maps to __attribute__((packed)). IRDA is one of the last users of __attribute__((packet)). Networking code uses __packed now. Signed-off-by: Gustavo F. Padovan <padovan@profusion.mobi> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* net: mark read-only arrays as constJan Engelhardt2009-08-054-6/+6

* irda: Add irda_skb_cb qdisc related paddingSamuel Ortiz2008-12-181-1/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | We need to pad irda_skb_cb in order to keep it safe accross dev_queue_xmit() calls. This is some ugly and temporary hack triggered by recent qisc code changes. Even though it fixes bugzilla.kernel.org bug #11795, it will be replaced by a proper fix before 2.6.29 is released. Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <samuel@sortiz.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* pkt_sched: Add qdisc_all_tx_empty()David S. Miller2008-07-091-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | This is a helper function, currently used by IRDA. This is being added so that we can contain and isolate as many explicit ->tx_queue references in the tree as possible. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* [IRDA]: Remove irlan_eth_send_gratuitous_arp()Adrian Bunk2008-04-151-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Even kernel 2.2.26 (sic) already contains the #undef CONFIG_IRLAN_SEND_GRATUITOUS_ARP with the comment "but for some reason the machine crashes if you use DHCP". Either someone finally looks into this or it's simply time to remove this dead code. Reported-by: Robert P. J. * [PATCH] tty: switch to ktermios and new frameworkAlan Cox2006-12-081-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is the core of the switch to the new framework. I've split it from the driver patches which are mostly search/replace and would encourage people to give this one a good hard stare. The references to BOTHER and ISHIFT are the termios values that must be defined by a platform once it wants to turn on "new style" ioctl support. The code patches here ensure that providing 1. The termios overlays the ktermios in memory 2. The only new kernel only fields are c_ispeed/c_ospeed (or none) the existing behaviour is retained. This is true for the patches at this point in time. Future patches will define BOTHER, ISHIFT and enable newer termios structures for each architecture, and once they are all done some of the ifdefs also vanish.
