Since commit 02d742f4b209 ("media: lirc: lirc daemon fails to detect raw
IR device"), the feature LIRC_CAN_SEND_SCANCODE is no longer used as it
tripped up lircd. The ability to send scancodes for IR Tx is implied by
LIRC_CAN_SEND_PULSE (i.e. any device that can send can use IR Tx encoders).
So, remove LIRC_CAN_SEND_SCANCODE since it never used. This fixes:
Documentation/output/lirc.h.rst:6: WARNING: undefined label:
lirc-can-send-scancode (if the link has no caption the label must precede
a section header
As this flag was added for kernel 4.16, let's remove it, while not too
late.

While userspace can detect discontinuity errors, it is useful to
also let Kernelspace reporting discontinuity, as it can help to
identify if the data loss happened either at Kernel or userspace side.
Update documentation accordingly.

Some conditions required for DVB mmap support to work are reversed.
Also, the logic is not too clear.
So, improve the logic, making it easier to be handled.
PS.: I'm pretty sure that I fixed it while testing, but, somehow,
the change got lost.

CONFIG_DVB_MMAP was misspelled either as CONFIG_DVB_MMSP
or DVB_MMAP, so it had no effect at all. This fixes that,
to make it possible to build it again.

for_each_cpu_wrap() was originally added in the #else half of a
large "#if NR_CPUS == 1" statement, but was omitted in the #if
half. This patch adds the missing #if half to prevent compile
errors when NR_CPUS is 1.

Commit f85942207516 (x86: PM: Make APM idle driver initialize polling
state) made apm_init() call cpuidle_poll_state_init(), but that only
is defined for CONFIG_CPU_IDLE set, so make the empty stub of it
available for CONFIG_CPU_IDLE unset too to fix the resulting build
issue.

test_and_{}_bit()
A test_and_{}_bit() operation fails if the value of the bit is such that
the modification does not take place. For example, if test_and_set_bit()
returns 1. In these cases, follow the behaviour of cmpxchg and allow the
operation to be unordered. This also applies to test_and_set_bit_lock()
if the lock is found to be be taken already.

In the following commit:
ce0fa3e56ad2 ("x86/mm, mm/hwpoison: Clear PRESENT bit for kernel 1:1 mappings of poison pages")
... we added code to memory_failure() to unmap the page from the
kernel 1:1 virtual address space to avoid speculative access to the
page logging additional errors.
But memory_failure() may not always succeed in taking the page offline,
especially if the page belongs to the kernel. This can happen if
there are too many corrected errors on a page and either mcelog(8)
or drivers/ras/cec.c asks to take a page offline.
Since we remove the 1:1 mapping early in memory_failure(), we can
end up with the page unmapped, but still in use. On the next access
the kernel crashes :-(
There are also various debug paths that call memory_failure() to simulate
occurrence of an error. Since there is no actual error in memory, we
don't need to map out the page for those cases.
Revert most of the previous attempt and keep the solution local to
arch/x86/kernel/cpu/mcheck/mce.c. Unmap the page only when:
1) there is a real error
2) memory_failure() succeeds.
All of this only applies to 64-bit systems. 32-bit kernel doesn't map
all of memory into kernel space. It isn't worth adding the code to unmap
the piece that is mapped because nobody would run a 32-bit kernel on a
machine that has recoverable machine checks.

df04abfd181a ("fs/proc/kcore.c: Add bounce buffer for ktext data")
... introduced a bounce buffer to work around CONFIG_HARDENED_USERCOPY=y.
However, accessing the vsyscall user page will cause an SMAP fault.
Replace memcpy() with copy_from_user() to fix this bug works, but adding
a common way to handle this sort of user page may be useful for future.
Currently, only vsyscall page requires KCORE_USER.

__flush_tlb_one_[user|kernel]()
flush_tlb_single() and flush_tlb_one() sound almost identical, but
they really mean "flush one user translation" and "flush one kernel
translation". Rename them to flush_tlb_one_user() and
flush_tlb_one_kernel() to make the semantics more obvious.
[ I was looking at some PTI-related code, and the flush-one-address code
is unnecessarily hard to understand because the names of the helpers are
uninformative. This came up during PTI review, but no one got around to
doing it. ]

For architectures providing their own implementation of
array_index_mask_nospec() in asm/barrier.h, attempting to use WARN_ONCE() to
complain about out-of-range parameters using WARN_ON() results in a mess
of mutually-dependent include files.
Rather than unpick the dependencies, simply have the core code in nospec.h
perform the checking for us.

The next patch from Al will sort out the final differences, and we
should be all done.

The VGIC can now support the life-cycle of mapped level-triggered
interrupts, and we no longer have to read back the timer state on every
exit from the VM if we had an asserted timer interrupt signal, because
the VGIC already knows if we hit the unlikely case where the guest
disables the timer without ACKing the virtual timer interrupt.
This means we rework a bit of the code to factor out the functionality
to snapshot the timer state from vtimer_save_state(), and we can reuse
this functionality in the sync path when we have an irqchip in
userspace, and also to support our implementation of the
get_input_level() function for the timer.
This change also means that we can no longer rely on the timer's view of
the interrupt line to set the active state, because we no longer
maintain this state for mapped interrupts when exiting from the guest.
Instead, we only set the active state if the virtual interrupt is
active, and otherwise we simply let the timer fire again and raise the
virtual interrupt from the ISR.

The GIC sometimes need to sample the physical line of a mapped
interrupt. As we know this to be notoriously slow, provide a callback
function for devices (such as the timer) which can do this much faster
than talking to the distributor, for example by comparing a few
in-memory values. Fall back to the good old method of poking the
physical GIC if no callback is provided.

This part of Secure Encrypted Virtualization (SEV) patch series focuses on KVM
changes required to create and manage SEV guests.
SEV is an extension to the AMD-V architecture which supports running encrypted
virtual machine (VMs) under the control of a hypervisor. Encrypted VMs have their
pages (code and data) secured such that only the guest itself has access to
unencrypted version. Each encrypted VM is associated with a unique encryption key;
if its data is accessed to a different entity using a different key the encrypted
guest's data will be incorrectly decrypted, leading to unintelligible data.
This security model ensures that hypervisor will no longer able to inspect or
alter any guest code or data.
The key management of this feature is handled by a separate processor known as
the AMD Secure Processor (AMD-SP) which is present on AMD SOCs. The SEV Key
Management Specification (see below) provides a set of commands which can be
used by hypervisor to load virtual machine keys through the AMD-SP driver.
The patch series adds a new ioctl in KVM driver (KVM_MEMORY_ENCRYPT_OP). The
ioctl will be used by qemu to issue SEV guest-specific commands defined in Key
Management Specification.

AMD's new Secure Encrypted Virtualization (SEV) feature allows the
memory contents of virtual machines to be transparently encrypted with a
key unique to the VM. The programming and management of the encryption
keys are handled by the AMD Secure Processor (AMD-SP) which exposes the

Extend the AMD-SP driver to provide the following support:
- an in-kernel API to communicate with the SEV firmware. The API can be
used by the hypervisor to create encryption context for a SEV guest.

If hardware supports memory encryption then KVM_MEMORY_ENCRYPT_REG_REGION
and KVM_MEMORY_ENCRYPT_UNREG_REGION ioctl's can be used by userspace to
register/unregister the guest memory regions which may contain the encrypted
data (e.g guest RAM, PCI BAR, SMRAM etc).
