gpio_ensure_requested() has been introduced in Feb. 2008 by commit
d2876d08d86f2 to force users of the GPIO API to explicitly request GPIOs
before using them.
Hopefully by now all GPIOs are correctly requested and this extra check
can be omitted ; in any case the GPIO maintainers won't feel bad if
machines start failing after 6 years of warnings.
This patch removes that function from the dark ages.

Both functions were introduced to let gpio drivers request their own
gpio pins. Without exporting the functions, this can however only be
used by gpio drivers built into the kernel.
Secondary impact is that the functions can not currently be used by
platform initialization code associated with the gpio-pca953x driver.
This code permits auto-export of gpio pins through platform data, but
if this functionality is used, the module can no longer be unloaded due
to the problem solved with the introduction of gpiochip_request_own_desc
and gpiochip_free_own_desc.
Export both function so they can be used from modules and from
platform initialization code.

gpio_ensure_requested() only makes sense when using the integer-based
GPIO API, so make sure it is called from there instead of the gpiod
API which we know cannot be called with a non-requested GPIO anyway.
The uses of gpio_ensure_requested() in the gpiod API were kind of
out-of-place anyway, so putting them in gpio-legacy.c helps clearing the
code.
Actually, considering the time this ensure_requested mechanism has been
around, maybe we should just turn this patch into "remove
gpio_ensure_requested()" if we know for sure that no user depend on it
anymore?

gpio_lock/unlock_as_irq() are working with (chip, offset) arguments and
are thus not using the old integer namespace. Therefore, there is no
reason to have gpiod variants of these functions working with
descriptors, especially since the (chip, offset) tuple is more suitable
to the users of these functions (GPIO drivers, whereas GPIO descriptors
are targeted at GPIO consumers).

As we start to decomission the return value from gpiochip_remove()
the compilers emit warnings due to the function being tagged
__must_check. So drop this until we remove the return value

This function is used by UDP encapsulation protocols in RX when

Duty Cycle Correction(DCC) needs to be enabled if the MPU is to run at
frequencies beyond 1.4GHz for OMAP5, DRA75x, DRA72x.
MPU DPLL has a limitation on the maximum frequency it can be locked
at. Duty Cycle Correction circuit is used to recover a correct duty
cycle for achieving higher frequencies (hardware internally switches
output to M3 output(CLKOUTHIF) from M2 output (CLKOUT)).

Audio Tracking Logic is designed to be used by HD Radio applications to
synchronize the audio output clocks to the baseband clock. ATL can be also
used to track errors between two reference clocks (BWS, AWS) and generate a modulated
clock output which averages to some desired frequency.
In essence ATL is generating a clock to be used by an audio codec and also
to be used by the SoC as MCLK.
To be able to integrate the ATL provided clocks to the clock tree we need
two types of DT binding:
- DT clock nodes to represent the ATL clocks towards the CCF
- binding for the ATL IP itself which is going to handle the hw
configuration
The reason for this type of setup is that ATL itself is a separate device
in the SoC, it has it's own address space and clock domain. Other IPs can
use the ATL generated clock as their functional clock (McASPs for example)
and external components like audio codecs can also use the very same clock
as their MCLK.
The ATL IP in DRA7 contains 4 ATL instences.

There is a potential dead lock if a cpu event occurs during nvme probe
since it registered with hot cpu notification. This fixes the race by
having the module register with notification outside of probe rather
than have each device register.
The actual work is done in a scheduled work queue instead of in the
notifier since assigning IO queues has the potential to block if the
driver creates additional queues.

It is possible a filesystem may send a flush flagged bio with write
data. There is no such composite NVMe command, so the driver sends flush
and write separately.
The device is allowed to execute these commands in any order, so it was
possible the driver ends the bio after the write completes, but while the
flush is still active. We don't want to let a filesystem believe flush
succeeded before it really has; this could cause data corruption on a
power loss between these events. To fix, this patch splits the flush
and write into chained bios.

This new ioctl call allows the user to supply a buffer of varying size in which
a tree search can store its results. This is much more flexible if you want to
receive items which are larger than the current fixed buffer of 3992 bytes or
if you want to fetch more items at once. Items larger than this buffer are for
example some of the type EXTENT_CSUM.

struct for all platform.
Cancel the optimization of compiler for struct snd_compr_avail
which size will be 0x1c in 32bit kernel while 0x20 in 64bit
kernel under the optimizer. That will make compaction between
32bit and 64bit. So add packed to fix the size of struct
snd_compr_avail to 0x1c for all platform.

Add support for mon_get_version requests to libceph. This reuses much
of the ceph_mon_generic_request infrastructure, with one exception.
Older OSDs don't set mon_get_version reply hdr->tid even if the
original request had a non-zero tid, which makes it impossible to
lookup ceph_mon_generic_request contexts by tid in get_generic_reply()
for such replies. As a workaround, we allocate a reply message on the
reply path. This can probably interfere with revoke, but I don't see
a better way.

When suspending a device while a video stream is active all buffers
marked as done but not dequeued yet will be kept across suspend and
given back to userspace after resume. This will result in outdated

When an initiator sends an allocation length bigger than what its
command consumes, the target should only return the actual response data
and set the residual length to the unused part of the allocation length.
Add a helper function that command handlers (INQUIRY, READ CAPACITY,
etc) can use to do this correctly, and use this code to get the correct
residual for commands that don't use the full initiator allocation in the
handlers for READ CAPACITY, READ CAPACITY(16), INQUIRY, MODE SENSE and
REPORT LUNS.

The per_cpu buffers are created one per possible CPU. But these do
not mean that those CPUs are online, nor do they even exist.
With the addition of the ring buffer polling, it assumes that the
caller polls on an existing buffer. But this is not the case if
the user reads trace_pipe from a CPU that does not exist, and this
causes the kernel to crash.
Simple fix is to check the cpu against buffer bitmask against to see
if the buffer was allocated or not and return -ENODEV if it is
not.
More updates were done to pass the -ENODEV back up to userspace.
