* PM / autosleep: Use workqueue for user space wakeup sources garbage collectorSungEun Kim2015-07-141-3/+15
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The synchronous synchronize_rcu() in wakeup_source_remove() makes user process which writes to /sys/kernel/wake_unlock blocked sometimes. For example, when android eventhub tries to release a wakelock, this blocking process can occur, and eventhub can't get input events for a while. Using a work item instead of direct function call at pm_wake_unlock() can prevent this unnecessary delay from happening. Signed-off-by: SungEun Kim <cleaneye.kim@lge.com> Signed-off-by: Rafael J. * PM / wakeup: Include appropriate header file in kernel/power/wakelock.cRashika Kheria2014-03-011-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Include appropriate header file kernel/power/power.h in kernel/power/wakelock.c because it has prototype declaration of function defined in kernel/power/wakelock.c. This eliminates the following warning in kernel/power/wakelock.c: kernel/power/wakelock.c:34:9: warning: no previous prototype for ‘pm_show_wakelocks’ [-Wmissing-prototypes] kernel/power/wakelock.c:184:5: warning: no previous prototype for ‘pm_wake_lock’ [-Wmissing-prototypes] kernel/power/wakelock.c:232:5: warning: no previous prototype for ‘pm_wake_unlock’ [-Wmissing-prototypes] Signed-off-by: Rashika Kheria <rashika.kheria@gmail.com> Reviewed-by: Josh Triplett <josh@joshtriplett.org> Signed-off-by: Rafael J. * PM / Sleep: Require CAP_BLOCK_SUSPEND to use wake_lock/wake_unlockRafael J. Wysocki2012-07-191-0/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | Require processes wanting to use the wake_lock/wake_unlock sysfs files to have the CAP_BLOCK_SUSPEND capability, which also is required for the eventpoll EPOLLWAKEUP flag to be effective, so that all interfaces related to blocking autosleep depend on the same capability. * PM / Sleep: Add user space interface for manipulating wakeup sources, v3Rafael J. Wysocki2012-05-011-0/+215
Android allows user space to manipulate wakelocks using two sysfs file located in /sys/power/, wake_lock and wake_unlock. Writing a wakelock name and optionally a timeout to the wake_lock file causes the wakelock whose name was written to be acquired (it is created before is necessary), optionally with the given timeout. Writing the name of a wakelock to wake_unlock causes that wakelock to be released. Implement an analogous interface for user space using wakeup sources. Add the /sys/power/wake_lock and /sys/power/wake_unlock files allowing user space to create, activate and deactivate wakeup sources, such that writing a name and optionally a timeout to wake_lock causes the wakeup source of that name to be activated, optionally with the given timeout. If that wakeup source doesn't exist, it will be created and then activated. Writing a name to wake_unlock causes the wakeup source of that name, if there is one, to be deactivated. Wakeup sources created with the help of wake_lock that haven't been used for more than 5 minutes are garbage collected and destroyed. Moreover, there can be only WL_NUMBER_LIMIT wakeup sources created with the help of wake_lock present at a time. The data type used to track wakeup sources created by user space is called "struct wakelock" to indicate the origins of this feature. This version of the patch includes an rbtree manipulation fix from John Stultz. Signed-off-by: Rafael J.
