* mac80211: Use queue_lock() in ieee80211_ht_agg_queue_remove().David S. Miller2008-08-031-2/+4
| | | | | | | qdisc_root_lock() is only %100 safe to use when the RTNL semaphore is held. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* mac80211: partially fix skb->cb useJohannes Berg2008-07-291-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | This patch fixes mac80211 to not use the skb->cb over the queue step from virtual interfaces to the master. The patch also, for now, disables aggregation because that would still require requeuing, will fix that in a separate patch. There are two other places (software requeue and powersaving stations) where requeue can happen, but that is not currently used by any drivers/not possible to use respectively. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes@sipsolutions.net> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>

* pkt_sched: Kill netdev_queue lock.David S. Miller2008-07-181-7/+12
| | | | | | | We can simply use the qdisc->q.lock for all of the qdisc tree synchronization. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* mac80211: Reimplement WME using ->select_queue().David S. Miller2008-07-181-503/+99
| | | | | | | | | | The only behavior change is that we do not drop packets under any circumstances. If that is absolutely needed, we could easily add it back. With cleanups and help from Johannes Berg. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* netdev: Allocate multiple queues for TX.David S. Miller2008-07-181-6/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | alloc_netdev_mq() now allocates an array of netdev_queue structures for TX, based upon the queue_count argument. Furthermore, all accesses to the TX queues are now vectored through the netdev_get_tx_queue() and netdev_for_each_tx_queue() interfaces. This makes it easy to grep the tree for all things that want to get to a TX queue of a net device. Problem spots which are not really multiqueue aware yet, and only work with one queue, can easily be spotted by grepping for all netdev_get_tx_queue() calls that pass in a zero index. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* netdev: Move rest of qdisc state into struct netdev_queueDavid S. Miller2008-07-091-7/+13
| | | | | | Now qdisc, qdisc_sleeping, and qdisc_list also live there. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* netdev: Move queue_lock into struct netdev_queue.David S. Miller2008-07-091-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | The lock is now an attribute of the device queue. One thing to notice is that "suspicious" places emerge which will need specific training about multiple queue handling. They are so marked with explicit "netdev->rx_queue" and "netdev->tx_queue" references. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* pkt_sched: Remove 'dev' member of struct Qdisc.David S. Miller2008-07-091-14/+14
| | | | | | | | | It can be obtained via the netdev_queue. So create a helper routine, qdisc_dev(), to make the transformations nicer looking. Now, qdisc_alloc() now no longer needs a net_device pointer argument. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* netdev: Create netdev_queue abstraction.David S. Miller2008-07-091-2/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | A netdev_queue is an entity managed by a qdisc. Currently there is one RX and one TX queue, and a netdev_queue merely contains a backpointer to the net_device. The Qdisc struct is augmented with a netdev_queue pointer as well. Eventually the 'dev' Qdisc member will go away and we will have the resulting hierarchy: net_device --> netdev_queue --> Qdisc Also, qdisc_alloc() and qdisc_create_dflt() now take a netdev_queue pointer argument. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* mac80211: move QOS control helpers into ieee80211.hHarvey Harrison2008-07-081-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | Also remove the WLAN_IS_QOS_DATA inline after removing the last two users. This starts moving away from using rx->fc to using the header frame_control directly. Signed-off-by: Harvey Harrison <harvey.harrison@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>

* | mac80211: rework debug settings and make debugging saferJohannes Berg2008-07-021-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch reworks the mac80211 debug settings making them more focused and adding help text for those that didn't have one. It also removes a number of printks that can be triggered remotely and add no value, e.g. "too short deauthentication frame received - ignoring". If somebody really needs to debug that they should just add a monitor interface and look at the frames in wireshark. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes@sipsolutions.net> Signed-off-by: John W. * | mac80211: use multi-queue master netdeviceJohannes Berg2008-05-221-9/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch updates mac80211 and drivers to be multi-queue aware and use that instead of the internal queue mapping. Also does a number of cleanups in various pieces of the code that fall out and reduces internal mac80211 state size. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes@sipsolutions.net> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
* | mac80211: move TX info into skb->cbJohannes Berg2008-05-221-12/+10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch converts mac80211 and all drivers to have transmit information and status in skb->cb rather than allocating extra memory for it and copying all the data around. To make it fit, a union is used where only data that is necessary for all steps is kept outside of the union. A number of fixes were done by Ivo, as well as the rt2x00 part of this patch. * | mac80211: fix wme codeJohannes Berg2008-05-071-11/+15
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In commit e100bb64bf7cdeae7f742a65ee1985649a7fd1b4 (mac80211: QoS related cleanups) I accidentally changed a variable from int to u16 causing a warning that a comparison for < 0 was always false. John thought this was a missing deletion of code and removed the warning by deleting the never executed branch of code in commit 3df5ee60f1ee559b1417397461891f8b483e8089 (wireless: fix warning introduced by "mac80211: QoS related cleanups") but the problem really was my mistake of using a u16 variable for the queue variable when that variable can also contain an error code. This patch restores the original code and variable type. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes@sipsolutions.net> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>

|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This * makes the queue number passed to drivers a u16 (as it will be with skb_get_queue_mapping) * removes the useless queue number defines * splits hw->queues into hw->queues/ampdu_queues * removes the debugfs files for per-queue counters * removes some dead QoS code * removes the beacon queue configuration for IBSS so that the drivers now never get a queue number bigger than (hw->queues + hw->ampdu_queues - 1) for tx and only in the range 0..hw->queues-1 for conf_tx. * mac80211: RCU-ify STA info structure accessJohannes Berg2008-03-061-2/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This makes access to the STA hash table/list use RCU to protect against freeing of items. However, it's not a true RCU, the copy step is missing: whenever somebody changes a STA item it is simply updated. This is an existing race condition that is now somewhat understandable. This patch also fixes the race key freeing vs. STA destruction by making sure that sta_info_destroy() is always called under RTNL and frees the key. * [NET_SCHED]: Convert packet schedulers from rtnetlink to new netlink APIPatrick McHardy2008-01-291-7/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | Convert packet schedulers to use the netlink API. Unfortunately a gradual conversion is not possible without breaking compilation in the middle or adding lots of casts, so this patch converts them all in one step. The patch has been mostly generated automatically with some minor edits to at least allow seperate conversion of classifiers and actions. * mac80211: Assign correct TID for local bridged packetsGuy Cohen2008-01-291-4/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | This patch assigns correct TID to frames transmitted between two stations in the same BSS in AP mode. The problem is that skb->protocol is not set to ETH_P_IP and it is wrong to use that field at this stage. The fix compares the LLC/Protocol headers explicitly to check if the encapsulated frame is IP frame Signed-off-by: Guy Cohen <guy.cohen@intel.com> Signed-off-by: John W.
