* ASoC: au1x: Remove unnecessary snd_pcm_lib_preallocate_free_for_all()Lars-Peter Clausen2015-01-052-12/+0
| | | | | | | | The ALSA core takes care that all preallocated memory is freed when the PCM itself is freed. There is no need to do this manually in the driver. Signed-off-by: Lars-Peter Clausen <lars@metafoo.de> Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org>

| * ASoC: au1x: drop owner assignment from platform_driversWolfram Sang2014-10-208-8/+0

* | ASoC: Rename snd_soc_dai_driver struct ac97_control field to bus_controlLars-Peter Clausen2014-11-182-2/+2
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Setting the ac97_control field on a CPU DAI tells the ASoC core that this DAI in addition to audio data also transports control data to the CODEC. This causes the core to suspend the DAI after the CODEC and resume it before the CODEC so communication to the CODEC is still possible. This is not necessarily something that is specific to AC'97 and can be used by other buses with the same requirement. This patch renames the flag from ac97_control to bus_control to make this explicit. While we are at it also change the type from int to bool. The following semantich patch was used for automatic conversion of the drivers: // <smpl> @@ identifier drv; @@ struct snd_soc_dai_driver drv = { - .ac97_control + .bus_control = - 1 + true }; // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Lars-Peter Clausen <lars@metafoo.de> Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org>

* ASoC: au1x: Don't set unused struct snd_pcm_hardware fieldsLars-Peter Clausen2013-12-212-23/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | The ASoC core assumes that the PCM component of the ASoC card transparently moves data around and does not impose any restrictions on the memory layout or the transfer speed. It ignores all fields from the snd_pcm_hardware struct for the PCM driver that are related to this. Setting these fields in the PCM driver might suggest otherwise though, so rather not set them. * ASoC: ac97: Support multi-platform AC'97Mark Brown2013-06-272-4/+10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently we can only have a single platform built in with AC'97 support due to the use of a global variable to provide the bus operations. Fix this by making that variable a pointer and having the bus drivers set the operations prior to registering. This is not a particularly good or nice approach but it avoids blocking multiplatform and a real fix involves fixing the fairly deep problems with AC'97 support - we should be converting it to a real bus. |/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit 1ee46ebd("ASoC: Make the DAI ops constant in the DAI structure") introduced the possibility to have constant DAI ops structures, yet this is barley used in both existing drivers and also new drivers being submitted, although none of them modifies its DAI ops structure. The later is not surprising since existing drivers are often used as templates for new drivers. So this patch just constifies all existing snd_soc_dai_ops structs to eliminate the issue altogether. * | ASoC: Alchemy AC97C/I2SC audio supportManuel Lauss2011-07-266-9/+1126
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | This patch adds ASoC support for the AC97 and I2S controllers on the old Au1000/Au1500/Au1100 chips, AC97 Tested on a Db1500. I2S untested since none of the boards actually have an I2S codec wired up (just test pins). * ASoC: core - Optimise and refactor pcm_new() to pass only rtdLiam Girdwood2011-06-071-3/+4
| | | | | | | | | | Currently pcm_new() passes in 3 arguments :- card, pcm and DAI. Refactor this to only pass in 1 argument (i.e. the rtd) since struct rtd contains card, pcm and DAI along with other members too that are useful too. * ASoC: fix au1x platformManuel Lauss2010-08-315-121/+85
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch fixes up the au1x audio platform after the multi-component merge: - compile fixes and updates to get DB1200 platform audio working again, - removal of global variables in AC97/I2S/DMA(PCM) modules. The AC97 part is limited to one instance only for now due to issues with getting at driver data in the soc_ac97_ops.
