| * | ASoC: twl6040: fix error return code in twl6040_probe()Gustavo A. R. Silva2017-07-171-2/+2
| |/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | platform_get_irq() returns an error code, but the twl6040 driver ignores it and always returns -EINVAL. This is not correct, and prevents -EPROBE_DEFER from being propagated properly. Notice that platform_get_irq() no longer returns 0 on error. Print and propagate the return value of platform_get_irq on failure. Signed-off-by: Gustavo A. R. Silva <garsilva@embeddedor.com> Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org>
* / ASoC: codecs: add const to snd_soc_codec_driver structuresBhumika Goyal2017-08-101-1/+1
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Declare snd_soc_codec_driver structures as const as they are only passed as an argument to the function snd_soc_register_codec. This argument is of type const, so declare the structures with this property as const. In file codecs/sn95031.c, snd_soc_codec_driver structure is also used in a copy operation along with getting passed to snd_soc_register_codec. So, it can be made const too. * ASoC: codec duplicated callback function goes to component on twl6040Kuninori Morimoto2016-08-081-6/+8
| | | | | | | | | | codec driver and component driver has duplicated callback functions, and codec side functions are just copied to component side when register timing. This was quick-hack, but no longer needed. This patch moves these functions from codec driver to component driver. | * | ASoC: twl6040: Pass the IRQF_ONESHOT flagFabio Estevam2015-05-121-1/+2
| |/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since commit 1c6c69525b40eb76de8adf039409722015927dc3 ("genirq: Reject bogus threaded irq requests") threaded IRQs without a primary handler need to be requested with IRQF_ONESHOT, otherwise the request will fail. * | ASoC: twl6040: Cleanup manual bias level transitionsLars-Peter Clausen2014-11-271-22/+1
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | Set the CODEC driver's suspend_bias_off flag rather than manually going to SND_SOC_BIAS_OFF in suspend and SND_SOC_BIAS_STANDBY in resume. This makes the code a bit shorter and cleaner. Since the ASoC core now takes care of setting the bias level to SND_SOC_BIAS_OFF when removing the CODEC there is no need to do it manually anymore either. * ASoC: Add snd_soc_kcontrol_codec() helper functionLars-Peter Clausen2014-04-141-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | For CODEC controls snd_kcontrol_chip() currently returns a pointer to the CODEC that registered the control. With the upcoming consolidation of platform and CODEC controls this will change. Prepare for this by introducing the snd_soc_kcontrol_codec() helper function that will hide the implementation details of how the CODEC for a control can be obtained. This will allow us to change this easily in the future. The patch also updates all CODEC drivers to use the new helper function. * ASoC: twl6040: Custom caching for sensitive DL1/2 path registersPeter Ujfalusi2013-12-191-2/+49
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Introduce a small register cache for registers which needs special caching to reduce pop noise: TWL6040_REG_HSLCTL, TWL6040_REG_HSRCTL, TWL6040_REG_EARCTL, TWL6040_REG_HFLCTL and TWL6040_REG_HFRCTL. * ASoC: twl6040: Add digital mute supportPeter Ujfalusi2013-06-241-1/+90
| | | | | | | | | | | | | To reduce pop noise during playback stream start and stop the codec needs to have the digital_mute callback implemented. The codec need to be muted before the CPU dai has been stopped (McPDM). Stopping the McPDM will generate a pop on the codec since no signal on the PDM bus means full negative amplitude. By managing the mute/unmute state of the outputs we can decrease the amount of pop noise when playback starts or stops. * | ASoC: codecs: Remove rtd->codec usage from CODEC driversMark Brown2012-04-041-6/+3
|/ | | | | | | | | | In order to support CODEC<->CODEC links remove the assumption that there is only a single CODEC on a DAI link by removing the use of the CODEC pointer in the rtd from the CODEC drivers. They are already being passed their DAI whenever they are passed an rtd and can get the CODEC from there. Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@opensource.wolfsonmicro.com>

Most are either small or are laying the groundwork for user visible features (especially dynamic PCM), the most directly visible change is the dmaengine library. There's also a bunch of regmap API enhancements pulled into the tree so that either the framework or drivers can take advantage of the new features. Changes include: - Support for widgets not associated with a CODEC, an important part of the dynamic PCM framework. - A library factoring out the common code shared by dmaengine based DMA drivers contributed by Lars-Peter Clausen. This will save a lot of code and make it much easier to deploy enhancements to dmaengine. - Support for binary controls, used for providing runtime configuration of algorithm coefficients. - A new DAPM widget type for regulator supplies allowing drivers for devices that can power down unused supplies while active to do without any per-driver code. - DAPM widgets for DAIs, initially giving a speed boost for playback startup and shutdown and also the basis for CODEC<->CODEC DAI link support. - Support for specifying the number of significant bits on audio interfaces, useful for allowing applications to know how much effort to put into generating data for a larger sample format. - Conversion of the FSI driver used on some SH processors to DMAEngine. - New CODEC drivers for Maxim MAX9768 and Wolfson Microelectronics WM2200.
