The McBSP sidetone (in OMAP3 McBSP2 and 3 module) is working with the
module's interface clock. When the sidetone is enabled the iclk must not
idle because it will result in choppy sidetone.
Switch to use the new callback for handling the iclk allow/deny idle
configuration.
For this the driver needs to get the module's ick clock and pass the clk
pointer to the callback.
In DT boot, the pdata-quirk is going to set up the callback for the driver
so save it if it is set in the pdata of the device.

McPDM module receives it's functional clock from external source. This
clock is the pdmclk provided by the twl6040 audio IC. If the clock is not

Implement ASoC's suspend and resume callbacks.
Since McPDM does not use pcm_trigger for start and stop of the stream due
to strict sequencing needs with the twl6040, the callbacks will stop and
restart the McPDM in case the board suspended during audio activity.

OMAP3's McBSP2 and McBSP3 module have integrated sidetone block with
dedicated SYSCONFIG register. The sidetone is operating from the maain
McBSP module's ICLK. For normal operation the sidetone clock auto idle
support needs to be disabled when it is activated.
Note: This is not enough to avoid choppy sidetone because this AUTOIDLE
bit is controlling only the clock auto idle from the McBSP to the sidetone
block. If the McBSP_ICLK is idling, the sidetone clock is going to do the
same.

Rename dma_*_writecombine() to dma_*_wc(), so that the naming
is coherent across the various write-combining APIs. Keep the
old names for compatibility for a while, these can be removed
at a later time. A guard is left to enable backporting of the
rename, and later remove of the old mapping defines seemlessly.
Build tested successfully with allmodconfig.
The following Coccinelle SmPL patch was used for this simple
transformation:
@ rename_dma_alloc_writecombine @
expression dev, size, dma_addr, gfp;
@@
-dma_alloc_writecombine(dev, size, dma_addr, gfp)
+dma_alloc_wc(dev, size, dma_addr, gfp)
@ rename_dma_free_writecombine @
expression dev, size, cpu_addr, dma_addr;
@@
-dma_free_writecombine(dev, size, cpu_addr, dma_addr)
+dma_free_wc(dev, size, cpu_addr, dma_addr)
@ rename_dma_mmap_writecombine @
expression dev, vma, cpu_addr, dma_addr, size;
@@
-dma_mmap_writecombine(dev, vma, cpu_addr, dma_addr, size)
+dma_mmap_wc(dev, vma, cpu_addr, dma_addr, size)
We also keep the old names as compatibility helpers, and
guard against their definition to make backporting easier.

ASoC: Updates for v4.4
Not much core work here, a few small tweaks to interfaces but mainly the
changes here are driver ones. Highlights include:
- Updates to the topology userspace interface
- Big updates to the Renesas support from Morimoto-san
- Most of the support for Intel Sky Lake systems.
- New drivers for Asahi Kasei Microdevices AK4613, Allwinnner A10,
Cirrus Logic WM8998, Dialog DA7219, Nuvoton NAU8825 and Rockchip
S/PDIF.
- A new driver for the Atmel Class D speaker drivers

snd_soc_limit_volume() operates on a card and the CODEC that is passed in
is only used to look up the card. Let it directly take the card instead.
This makes it possible to use it when no snd_soc_codec is available.

Use the new snd_pcm_hw_constraint_single() helper function instead of
calling snd_pcm_hw_constraint_minmax() with the same value for min and max
to install a constraint that limits the possible configuration values to a
single value. Using snd_pcm_hw_constraint_single() makes the indented

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tiwai/sound
Pull sound updates from Takashi Iwai:
"There are little changes in core part, but lots of development are
found in drivers, especially ASoC. The diffstat shows regmap-related
changes for a slight API additions / changes, and that's all.
Looking at the code size statistics, the most significant addition is
for Intel Skylake. (Note that SKL support is still underway, the
codec driver is missing.) Also STI controller driver is a major
addition as well as a few new codec drivers.
In HD-audio side, there are fewer changes than the past. The
noticeable change is the support of ELD notification from i915
graphics driver. Thus this pull request carries a few changes in
drm/i915.
Other than that, USB-audio got a rewrite of runtime PM code. It was
initiated by lockdep warning, but resulted in a good cleanup in the
end.
Below are the highlights:
Common:
- Factoring out of AC'97 reset code from ASoC into the core helper
- A few regmap API extensions (in case it's not pulled yet)
ASoC:
- New drivers for Cirrus CS4349, GTM601, InvenSense ICS43432, Realtek
RT298 and ST STI controllers
- Machine drivers for Rockchip systems with MAX98090 and RT5645 and
RT5650
- Initial driver support for Intel Skylake devices
- Lots of rsnd cleanup and enhancements
- A few DAPM fixes and cleanups
- A large number of cleanups in various drivers (conversion and
standardized to regmap, component) mostly by Lars-Peter and Axel
HD-audio:
- Extended HD-audio core for Intel Skylake controller support
- Quirks for Dell headsets, Alienware 15
- Clean up of pin-based quirk tables for Realtek codecs
- ELD notifier implenetation for Intel HDMI/DP
USB-audio:
- Refactor runtime PM code to make lockdep happier"

The dapm field of the snd_soc_codec struct will eventually be removed
(replaced with the DAPM context from the component embedded inside the
CODEC). Replace its usage with the card's DAPM context. The idea is that
DAPM is hierarchical and with the card at the root it is possible to access
widgets from other contexts through the card context.

Pull sound updates from Takashi Iwai:
"It was a busy development cycle at this time, as you can see a wide
range of changes in diffstat. There are no big changes but many
refactoring and improvements. Here we go some highlights:
ALSA core:
- Procfs codes were cleaned up to use seq_file
- Procfs can be opt out via Kconfig (only for EXPERT)
- Two types of jack API were unified finally; now both kctl and input
jack devs are handled via a single function call.
HD-audio:
- Continued code restructuring for the future ASoC driver; now HDA
controller driver is split to a core helper module.
- Preliminary codes for Skylake audio support in HDA core.
- Proper i915 gfx power well management for SKL & co
- Enabled runtime PM as default for Intel HDMI/DP codecs
- Newer Tegra chip supports
- More quirks for Dell headsets, Alienware (with CA0132), etc.
- A couple of DRM ELD helper API functions
ASoC:
- Support for loading ASoC topology maps from firmware, intended to
be used to allow self-describing DSP firmware images to be built
which can map controls added by the DSP to userspace without the
kernel needing to know about individual DSP firmwares
- Lots of refactoring to avoid direct access to snd_soc_codec where
it's not needed supporting future refactoring
- Big refactoring, cleanup and enhancement for the Wolfson ADSP
driver
- Cleanup series for TI TAS2552 and R-CAR drivers
- Fixes and improvements on RT56xx codecs
- Support for TI TAS571x power amplifiers
- Support for Qualcomm APQ8016 and ZTE ZX296702 SoCs
- Support for x86 systems with RT5650 and Qualcomm Storm
- Support for Mediatek AFE (Audio Front End) unit
- Other various small fixes to ASoC codec drivers
Firewire:
- Enhanced to allow non-blocking streams to use timestamp
synchronization
- Improve support for DM1500 and BeBoBv3
Misc:
- Cleanup of old pci API functions over all PCI sound drivers
- Fix long-standing regression of the old powermac i2c setup"

According to the schematics the external speaker is differential, so the
HPLCOM and HPRCOM pins of the CODEC should be connected to it.
Otherwise the routing looks complete, so add the missing routes and set the
fully_routed flag of the card instead of manually marking the unused inputs
and outputs as not connected. This makes the code a bit shorter and
cleaner.

I tried to fix this before and submitted a working patch, but after
some discussion we came up with what seemed to be a nicer solution,
resulting in commit 3d4cf65e2d ("ASoC: omap: fix up
SND_OMAP_SOC_OMAP_ABE_TWL6040 dependency"). Unfortunately, that
version was incomplete, and we still get this build error:
drivers/clk/clk-palmas.c:46:16: error: field 'hw' has incomplete type
drivers/clk/clk-palmas.c: In function 'to_palmas_clks_info':
drivers/clk/clk-palmas.c:54:74: warning: initialization from incompatible pointer type [-Winc
This happens only in randconfig builds that turn on MFD_PALMAS
on a platform other than OMAP2+ when COMPILE_TEST is set
but COMMON_CLK is not.
The new approach is only 'select COMMON_CLK_PALMAS' if we know
that we are on an OMAP5 platform and MFD_PALMAS is already set.
This patch has survived thousands of randconfig builds and I
don't see a remaining hole in the logic.

Since 39b2bbe3d715 (gpio: add flags argument to gpiod_get*() functions)
which appeared in v3.17-rc1, the gpiod_get* functions take an additional
parameter that allows to specify direction and initial value for output.
Use this to simplify the driver. Furthermore this is one caller less
that stops us making the flags argument to gpiod_get*() mandatory.

There is a constraint in the OMAP4 HDMI IP that requires to use
the 8-channel code when transmitting more than two channels.
The constraint doesn't apply for OMAP5 so don't force the channel
allocation in the sound driver as it can be done specifically for
OMAP4 later in the hdmi4 core.

The change to enable OMAP5 support on this platform was a little too
eager in adding a 'select' for a particular clock driver that might
not be enabled in all configurations, which in turn leads to a build
error:
warning: (SND_OMAP_SOC_OMAP_ABE_TWL6040) selects COMMON_CLK_PALMAS which has unmet direct dependencies (COMMON_CLK && MFD_PALMAS)
drivers/built-in.o: In function `palmas_clks_probe':
drivers/clk/clk-palmas.c:228: undefined reference to `palmas_ext_control_req_config'
I do not see a strong dependency here, so it's probably better to
drop this select and to avoid adding more complexity here.
